u could try using ryanvm's integrator or nlite to slipstream addons of all your apps. i dont know how to also keep your settings though. and if u want to wipe and reload, just use an imaging program like Acronis True Image. install and tweak Windows and all your apps, then just create an image. u can then restore that image whenever u feel like it.

I haven't found such a guide or topic, but perhaps anyone who uses w2k3 as a workstation has some suggestions/tips?

maybe u accidently put the sp2 installer in teh same folder as your windows source?

to install them under Vista, u double-click them (like an executable).

@cluberti - it is just my external drive. btw this happened when i ran disk cleanup for my F: drive, but as i said, i also had similar results when i ran it for my C: drive. @BoardBabe - this problem could be just my system but hopefully this wont happen to others.

it rele deleted my data. Thankfully, Recuva was able to retrieve most of what was deleted.

it was a new install

it deleted almost every file and folder from my F: drive. files deleted ranged from installers to mp3s to documents to videos etc.

heres what i do: right-click on notepad.exe and select Properties. go to the Security tab > Advanced > Owner and change the Owner to Administrators and click OK. go back to the Security tab and click on Edit..., under users/groups select Administrators and check teh box for Full control. click OK twice and youre now able to delete/replace notepad.exe
