  1. Can you explain that vulnerability ? If the tool is only used to unpack trusted files, it doesn't matter much.
  2. Sorry, old thread (reanimated by half a spam ?) http://www.johnstyle.fr/2007/12/22/musique...son-incroyable/ Gives a 3D feeling even with basic headphones (so I suppose it won't help thethreadstarter but still impressive, even freaky for some).
  3. The presets are saved in "last session.ini" only when the process is launched, so you can't save the file before running the process because you only save the "last" session and that's the one from before.
  4. Any other device between CDRom and HDD in boot order in Bios ? Like USB or multi card readers ? Other than that, I'd wipe the first cylinder of the disk with Ranish Partition Manager and retry.
  5. You are probably copying a second partition on a 1st partition or you end up with two or no active partition or something like that.
  6. Does your last screen have a big "Make ISO" button in the center of it ?
  7. Only the actual data is put in the image, and it is compressed as well. So for a typical XP system, 2 or 3 Gig for a start or up to 7Gig, that would fit on a 4.7DVD. Deleting the page file before making the image, if you have the technical possibility, is also a gain of space.
  8. Boot from a cd or floppy to test your hard drive and memory for any hardware problem. Those will never be fixed without physical replacement. Run scandisk for any file corruption problem. But first thing to do is (if possible and if needed) save any important data.
  9. It's being debated later because someone (no personal attack...) behaves like a donkey. The threadstarter is searching for a tweak in nLite indeed. "where the heck is the option to disable virtual memory ?". I simply tell him the tweak doesn't exist. Wether it was abandonned 2 or 3 years ago, I don't know, but does this make my answer rude ? DOES THIS MAKE MY ANSWER RUDE ? I've read enough threads during those last years (one of them was brought back yesterday) to know that it's not there and that Nuhi has no intention to implement it (back). So If he or you think this answer is irrelevant, please yourself. I'm not impressed by quotes from George Bernard Shaw by someone who can barely read, nor by 5 Gigabytes pagefiles, RAM is not proportional to anyone's IQ.
  10. A minimum info on how you are connected to the Internet would be welcome if you want any relevant repliy. From what I gather you connect to a lan with a fix IP ? Why renew it ? Can you ping the router if any ?
  11. http://www.msfn.org/board/is-there-an-opti...la-t117230.html
  12. Ok, you're right, the option is there. I'm sure it is. But I won't tell you where, and nobody will. Keep searching it, you're big enough to waste your own time.
  13. Unless this was fixed in between, the program still insist 50Meg should be reserved when only 7.5 Megs are used aside PE and XP. This has me slashing my BartPE from 40 Meg to fit it on a 256Meg stick where it keeps those unused 40Meg . Are they needed ?
  14. There never was such an option.
  15. My laptop is 3 years old and the battery now jumps from 99% to 7% in 2 minutes. Then I can work 40 minutes until it gets to 2% then shuts down, that is only if I disable alarms. quite an annoyance. Also I can't quite figure out why sometimes the red light (that is hardware detection for low battery) goes sometimes doesn't. Very strange. I consider the battery as half dead half fool .
  16. Cut and paste does help http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/250449...op-battery-life
  17. Either it's a partition or it is not ("unpartitionned space" ?) but not both. And either it's 10% or 8MB, but not both. Unless the drive is 100MB. If the space is first on the drive, it must be a remaining (hidden) recovery partition that you can get rid of with 3rd party (and free) partitionning tools.

    asistance

I think you should wake up and first learn about the free tool you are unsuccessfuly trying to use. Also learn the basic of forum rules, like choosing a decent title for your thread. As a first post, I would describe this as a request to be flamed.
  19. You have one problem and opened 6 threads (plus those that have been deleted already). You are not gonna get more help, you are just confusing people.

    IE8 not removed

"fixed" ? nLite is made for XP, not for whatever you throw at it. I don't even think it would remove IE7. "too much work to do it again", ..you are redoing a cd anyway, get your ini files together and there you go.

    saving nlite settings

Yes you need both. Also if you want the same result, you need to start with exactly the same source of course. You can rename both files but to keep them linked (nLite only prompts for one name) you need to have the same name + "_u" at the end. like "last session.ini" and "last session_u.ini" renamed to "last session for my portable.ini" and "last session for my portable_u.ini" not "last session for my portable.ini" and "last session_u for my portable.ini" Both files are in also on the cd (unless you changed it, that option is enabled by default).
  22. Is your video card recent enough to run 1680x1050 ?
  23. What recovery method are you using and at what point do you get that message ?
  24. Yes it's that key. HKEY_USERS\.Default\Control Panel\Keyboard\InitialKeyboardIndicators Just replace 2 by 0.
