  1. Check your cd or your ProgramFiles\nLite\Presets folder for "Last Session_u.ini". The passwords should be readable in the "users" section.
  2. It's not about default setup, it's about using the answers that you give as default for unattended install. Real default setup would not be unattended.
  3. Not exactly. nLite will only modify Windows 2000, XP and 2003 sources but will run under Vista.
  4. I you work on a modified source, some option might be disabled because some components are missing or altered. Now, there is a small bug in nLite (sorry for the word), I think... when an option is not available, it's greyed out but shows the default value as greyed out, not the real value. As for compatibility, I think you ned to keep the compatibility (not the player obviously) if you want to be able to insall WMP later.
  5. Check with the original disk. If same problem, you removed something (in Hardware Support). if not, you probably need to integrate drivers for your HDD controler.
  6. Check "skip OOBE" in unatteded section.
  7. Alzheimer is taking over On the 1st pane ("general", I think) of Unattended section, you changed the computer type to "Standard PC". Leave it on "automatic", it's the default option. There is no gain from changing it unless real problem. Google for "HAL" for more info about this option.
  8. There is a "autologon" box on the users creation screen. I take it you create your "me" user at that point, so you can use the option on that user. This is the cause of your shutdown problem. Leave it on "automatic" and you should be fine.
  9. Adding a background doesn't make your XP "liter". The option is not included in the program.

    nLite settings

Click on the "last session", and click "LOAD". I think it then says "loaded".
  11. After Service Pack, before drivers.
  12. I sense the explanation somewhere deep inside this sentence. Ah....users.
  13. nLite doesn't work from iso. It copies all the data in a folder on the HDD first. You can also do that manually. Start from there and see if there are any further problem.
  14. And where do you think this discussion could go ?
  15. Why ? The OP started a sort of philosophical cliché thread about "Micro$haft", and he is "looking forward to questions, comments & hate mail". I think he can be pleased with 3 pages (of ...), as this is turning to the "I love Win9x but I hate M$" subforum. OMG, I can't believe I replied to this thread.

    Oi Vey

    Check your CD with cdcheck.
  17. Check the Registry for HKLocalMachine/Software/Microsoft/windowsNT/CurrentVersion/WinLogon/ and the AutoAdminLogin key. Change it to 0 see if it solves your problem.
  18. You can set 2 languages and corresponding keyboards and toggle using LeftAlt+LeftShift.
  19. This is the level of Youtube debates. You know, the one where people claim McEnroe would beat Federer anytime, because he's the greatest of all time... ever !
  20. Hum. I corrected (((many big ))) faults in the french translations. frenchLanf_Strings.7z
  21. Check the User's pane in the Unattended section. Either remove that new user or set it as inactive. I think you must have missed it. Only in XP Home without OOBE you get a new user called "owner" or something. But in your case (you do use OOBE?) this should not happen. For your second question... I thought "Provide Default" would have done it.
  22. After the OP has solved his problem, he is advised by well intended people to delete all partitions or to buy a second hard drive. Maybe we could read more than the 1st and the last posts ?
  23. That 2Gig was a FAT16 limitation. In the mean time, 12 years ago, they came up with FAT32. That's what the thread is about.
  24. It looks like an upgrade menu ?
