  1. what r u trying to install from svcpack.inf in sp2? most ppl use hotfixes to install for sp1. i think minor version is still 1 integration of sp2 doesn't change svcpack.inf
  2. Hi there I'm wondering what this thing means? netbios-ssn there is this guy keeps connecting to my comp I found all about him, he lives 1 floor above 4 rooms down from me. now he's annoying me. i don't really know what netbios-ssn is, is he port scanning or something? or is he trying to send me some packets? or what should i be concerned, i haven't installed firewall, using xp sp2 firewall now.. Thanks ip: 66.71.50.145 he's connecting me at port 3803... edit: picture removed

  4. just delete the win98's windows folder and edit the boot.ini file found in the root of c drive if its not upgraded if should be easy to remove..

  6. that worm is widely spread around the world its crumbling inside the computer. the day it will get out of the screen will be a ..... day
  7. well okay those batches are fairly easy to use just put those batches in 1 level above i386 folder and choose the ones u'd like to remove and start clicking each of them one after the other..
  8. in what folder do u have your xp sp2 pro in?
  9. no no don't type the 1st xpcd in c just type dir /s xpcd>>files.txt that's it..
  10. Hi there I had used globalscape secure ftp for a while. (since its very easy to setup) but now i want to discover some othe programs is there an aio package program with php/cgi/ssl/ftp/http support? if so what is it? if no what do ppl prefer as individual apps? I don't want to setup w2k3. it has to be on my xp machine.. Thanks
  11. yes indeed ok go to command prompt insert the xp sp2 pro cd or put from your hdd let assume its in f:\xpcd\ then type this in run cmd f: dir /s xpcd>>files.txt files.txt will be created in f:\xpcd\ folder alternatively u can specify it to be on another folder (doesn't matter for me ) and could u archive the txtsetup.sif & dosnet.inf & layout.inf Thanks
  12. it is so as this: Just found a way to automate partitionning...
  13. there is an on going conversation about this on another thread. refer to unattended section of the forum....
  14. if u know the manufacturer and the model of the modem go to manufacturer's website and download the 2000 drivers.
  15. Hi there I actually don't like to start threads like this but anyways.. I've slipstreamed sp2 onto sp1a pro cd. (now I don't have a non sp1a cd so i had to) can someone who has original xp cd and slipstreamed only sp2 post their i386 folder contents? this is not warez nor anything of sort. I just want to delete the unneccessary files from the cd. dir /s xpcd >>files.txt or something of sort would help along with txtsetup.sif dosnet.inf and layout.inf thanks
  16. Hi sorry the title doesn't make any sense but here's what i'm trying to explain. I remember some ppl have asked why they have stupid folders in program files folder like movie maker netmeeting msn gaming zone xerox although they are all emtpy well i haven't yet found the answer but for some reason winlogon.exe is using them I've other blank folders like all pchealth folder but winlogon also uses helpctr and uploadlb folders which are also empty. and for some reason the most annoying one is it uses the help\Tours\mmTour which is the tour when u get at first logon. well i don't want any of these files
  17. yes i believe having it under all users apply to all users .bat .cmd doesn't matter afaik i dunno the code i have given u was setting the service to manual maybe disable it? other than that I cannot help u cause i dunno!
  18. @mrclasik did u try to integrate sp2 after running xpcreate? if so it could create some problems (not problems but some things will be installed over again) edit: something i've just discovered. when sp2 is installed the sp1.cab is not being used. so it might be good idea to slipstream sp2 to a clean xp disk.
  19. u can put it anywhere just call it right... u can call it from cmdlines.txt runonceex etc.. just use a correct path for it.
  20. 1st of all instead of pm'ing me u'd rather post it here u'll get quicker and clearer answers... and I don't know why u prefered pm'ing but no one laughs and think that u're stupid or something. so post here. and i think it'd make more sense since this is a public forum.. I might not have the answer, if u pm me only i'll see it so if u want better answers post it here i had a screen shot that'll explain this but i'm having internet problems therefore can't access my web server. yes u can apply it to the logon script under user conf. cursor flashing part okay i just understood what u meant by that go to gpedit and add a script there under script name enter the path to the .cmd file or simply browse to it. no need for parameters. i just have 1 user so i don't know if that applies to all users but u can add this to computer configuration instead of user conf. hope this solves it that website doesn't help me its old its for win2000. and doesn't state anything but saying there are perfdata*.dat files....
  21. seems like u've to convert it first? was it nfts b4?
  22. okay..... if u want to do that at least save it into a batch file put in on the desktop u might now be able to click type etc.. (that's what i'd do.. anyways.........)
  23. also maybe a bad ram? (not likely) maybe get a power regulator.. if u find out that its the power supply. it might be over heating (more dangerous if its a laptop) I still do think u installed too many programs.... defragging might help speeding up a little.. and maybe get a faster hdd i'm outta here..
