(not likely) maybe get a power regulator.. if u find out that its the power supply. it might be over heating (more dangerous if its a laptop) I still do think u installed too many programs.... defragging might help speeding up a little.. and maybe get a faster hdd i'm outta here..

fix what? what? r u joking? there could be billions of things for the reason. if u're experiencing this much of a freeze u're seriously in need of a format. other than that i'm sure everyone will say these: check for spyware check for virus uncheck startup items delete systemworks get more ram uninstall some programs update drivers update firmware get a new computer get a new windows license get a new xp format all drive's format yourself lose yourself in the music errr overloaded, shutdown imminent XtremeMaC caused a handle exception. [report a BUG] System out of control eject, eject!

ok type services.msc then find the rpc services (remote procedure call (rpc)) one right click on it go to properties go to recovery change all those 3 settings to do nothing. further more go to symantec.com and download the individual removal tools. u can do it directly from windows but i suggest when u have lots of viruses (if u have any) either boot from safe mode / PE. u'll get the best results like that.

would u like to try what i said?

well those files will be created all the time best way to get rid of them is to get rid of the system monitor which is by: type services.msc in run then find Performance Logs and Alerts right click on it then properties then startup type manual/disable I hope that answers your question.. I had configured lots of inf files when installing xp. I don't remember if that services is set to automatic upon unmodified install of xp but when i installed the service was on manual and i don't even have a perflib*.dat file... and I forgot to answer the question to apply that line of code save it to a notepad file then go to save as and save it as filename.bat or filename.cmd then easiest way to run this would be putting it in start menu /start up assuming u saved the file as lets say "perflib_del.cmd" go here C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and copy/move the file in there... or better yet just copy and paste this code to a notepad and save as create.cmd echo del /q %SystemRoot%\System32\Perflib_Perfdata*.dat>>del_perflib.cmd move "del_perflib.cmd" "%allusersprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\" echo Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00>>disable_perflib.reg echo.>>disable_perflib.reg echo [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SysmonLog]>>disable_perflib.reg echo "Start"=dword:00000003>>disable_perflib.reg regedit /s disable_perflib.reg del create.cmd

Hi there I had not been formatting for over 3 months, it was bugging me finally I did it... anyways I've succesfully installed 2096. its looking great!. 2 minor problems, 1. those codec's they gave copy error, i had forgotten about them. 2. i'm using xplode. well xplode started but it skipped all those lines that i have but merged the .reg files. then i realized i shouldn't be putting that many spaces(tabs) in between the stuff it for some reason skips them when its like that.. it works good with 1 space in between. (okay u don't see any huge spaces in the post since board doesn't allow them) something else: I had [Shell] DefaultStartPanelOff = Yes now thats good and I had classic start menu and all icons in the desktop. when I choosed start menu "start menu" so the new start menu, all the icon's dissapeared. was this how it was back in sp1? have i completely forgotten that? the windows security center thing poped up, it seems nice other than these everything went smoothly. I've edited some of the inf's that I don't like its even nicer this way. the new wireless icon looks nice I'll be posting my entire setup(not the i386 folder) what i did how i did why when where even if it maybe a useless thing to do. I feel like doing it Once again thanks to everyone on this board and thanks to MS.! edit: okay also 1 other thing. first time i logged on the security center poped up and told me i don't have virus protection I pressed okay. but now I've restared the machine it pops up again? is it crazy why is it doing that I don't want it, go away.
