most often when there is copy protection it won't allow u to play the game, but u should be able to install it fine, so if u cannot install it you've another problem: which is your drive (cd/dvd-rom) isn't capable of reading sub-channel data. or in more technical term, it isn't efm capable. head over to http://forum.alcohol-soft.com and check if u have efm capable cd-rom, i've not tried warhammer but i do use this combine method on most of my games as well.. i've lite-on 811s, i purposely bought this bc it can read anything!

Is Firefox & Thunderbird better than IE & Outlook?
XtremeMaC replied to m8E's topic in Networks and the Internet
very very nice comments on this topic well here's mine: i'm using opera & outlook 2003. I don't like outlook express bc its express as the name says and doesn't have much use for me, outlook handles everything nicer, like rules, junk mail filter, etc.. i do like MS products mostly bc they're done by a big company, which means they look at every aspect, they cover all the areas and since they've been playing with outlook for years they know what to do what not to do etc. I never ever had a problem with outlook, i also use external plugins.. about opera: not dull looking, have nice tabs, u can open extra windows as well, i usually open 10+ tabs and move from 1 to the other, and I use ctrl+shift+click in order to bring out a link on the background page which is important bc while i read a page i can click on the link and while i'm continuing to read it the page loads at the background. say u open 10 windows with firefox and IE and they suddenly decide to give u an error and close, oh my u've lost all the pages u were visiting, u didn't bookmark them oh mighty lord , well opera saves them so next time u open opera u've the ability to revert back to the last pages u visited. file transfer: with IE and i'm not sure about firefox, when u dl a file the file sits on the screen unless u click on minimize right? well with opera u can set it to hide the dl screen automatically and get a notification when the dl is complete. has RSS feed capacity, so u can get news from msfn & other pages. ow it has real cache so say u're going to visit a page with lots of pictures right? u don't want them to load again opera is your friend, also say if u visit a page and on that page there are 50 pictures u've already seen and now they added 50 more but u don't want to see those, well opera can open that page and only load those pictures that are in cache, or u can set it to not show any images, that i often use. with IE, when u have timeout's u cannot go back to the page u were just a sec ago, with opera u can with IE, say u're typing in a text area just like this, u typed typed, typed and u clicked on add reply and oops crap error, connection error, any error, it didn't get submitted, ow all those stuff u wrote is now gone, but not with opera, u can go back. etc. etc. I just love opera, most ppl use firefox bc its "hmm displays fast" yea cool feature, that feature has stolen most my friends' minds, they don't understand why i use opera, they won't ever understand bc they're lazy but still, firefox for zuckers (joking!!!) u can use opera in your symbian os's which is your mobile phones. prathapml did I miss any cool feature -
well i dunno about your dvc but throw the external box away and take the hdd inside it and put into your box and see if it works. also u can call up the company of your external hdd maker and dvc maker and ask for help. well only thing i can think of is a power issue, maybe the electricity fluctuated too much and gave more voltage & ampere than u're devices needed and then it blew those up? don't tell me that u never ever had that, u don't usually feel that unless the lights dim a little. otherwise i cannot think of a reason. except that maybe u poured water on your devices or your dog ate it,

Are you going to upgrade to 64bit WinXP
XtremeMaC replied to jpatto's topic in Windows XP 64 Bit Edition
well i dunno if i'll have any advantages over 32bit for now, i mean it might be a good thing for servers etc. but at least for nowadays i don't think anyone will benefit from switching to 64bit. maybe during summer or i dunno maybe wait for longhorn -
lol reading your post just made me laugh, u proved your english abilities while posting 50% good thing u're getting paid though, i've done it for free. **** those years, i'll go back and charge those ppl, anyways from now on i'll help my friends only if they pay me ahah lol, they ask how to get rid of spyware stuff anyways 1 thing i've recently discovered bc i recently started listening to the prof is if u're learning a subject like statics, dynamics, maths, physics stuff like that; its a good thing to just listen the teacher and not to keep notes, while u're taking notes u miss all those stuff the teacher says, unless u've tablet pc and speech to text or something its pretty hard to understand the lesson, alternatively we, in turkey have many fotocopies of geek's that have taken the class b4's class notes, of course on-line pdf's ppt's help as well. @EliasXP u want any advice? go out more if u're not doing so. but u probably do right? go out and drink beer do the homeworks, go to class don't skip it unless u've to meet with your gf ow and as zxian mentioned DO sleep at normal hours and DO some sports!, i feel like an old man, i'm 20 if u dunno. i don't like fitness and cannot find (not tried hard) any good sports to do.. teachers are teachers, my parents are both teachers, so i have a knowledge on both sides of the story, there are bad teachers who might be very good at their subjects but they might not have "teaching" abilities, on the other side there are young teachers that have learned what not to do from their experiences from their teachers,(horrible sentence) but don't know much on the subject. so eitherways u're friends and your books will be your best friend! just go to classes to get an overview of that days subject and interact with ppl, from my experience: I was in PennState, after attending the classes about 2-3 weeks on my sophomore year i decided that i could do on my own, and decided not to attend the classes, BIG mistake, i had to ask everything, every stupid detail, what'll be on the exam, which is important topic which is not, missed tips from teachers, desocialized myself bc i had not met many ppl from the class and didn't have many classmates to call for help, so i was pretty much f'ed. and then gaming/msfn/girls/etc came into my life and i threw the studying to the waste bin pretty much, so my grades were _______. so attending class is important point of the story , i've many bad experiences so i can teach from my experiences, if anyone needs help i'm here ahah find a nice gf. send a cutie over for me anyways i'm back in turkey continuing my studies, i couldn't went into a school in turkey that i dreamed of, bc i wasn't dreaming of any, i miss my pennstate. go lions!, final note, if computer is your hobby don't put it aside and forget it, simple decrease the time u spend on it, go out more and definitely do some sports bc if u don't u'll feel lazy all the time and won't want to go out and will be stuck in front of the comp, but don't put it aside bc computer is a must in our lives pretty much thesedays omg i'm stopping, how many charachters is this, i'll take this to my english teacher as a journal entry hahah hated those..

heh that's no magic don't worry, everyone got promoted to 50 invites, frankly bc everyone in the world has gmail and there are other providers like gmail who offer same or better services... i think this thread has become so useless i shouldn't even be posting in. haven't heard anyone in msfn that doesn't have gmail acc anyways too much talking..

hi there lately this even got more boring, i want to browse to my previously visited pages but for some reason i cannot see any of the pages i visited on msfn on my opera nor firefox, i've mentioned this problem on opera forums, they said its bc of msfn which is quite true bc i see other pages in my history. is there a way around this? if not why is such a thing being done? thanks
-

well how do u know that your firewire appliances are not corrupt? a power outage might just cause this. i've never seen a setting for firewire in bios u know that firewire is also used for tcp/ip stuff like lan/internet etc.. (just mentioning..) ok whatelse, take your appliances to a store near by and test them, staff at bestbuy might even help...
-
does any of your friends have firewire port? if so try plugging your devices to their port and test if they work

well i've creative muvo 128mb and creative jukebox zen xtra 30gb. i love both of them lately i've been thinking maybe i should get a visor/palm/etc that also plays mp3 & has camera & wifi, after that i'll totally be awesome! only problem is i won't be able to go up to 30gb in diskspace but still its nice to be travelling with a smaller laptop in your palm otherwise there are many alternatives depending on the disk space u desire and which company u trust.

well okay then grab drivers from sp1 and replace them with sp2's u should be fine then.

hi there, first of all i couldn't decide where to put this so i'm putting it here, sorry if its wrong anyways my question is: i've a router and all 4 computers are xp right now, i assigned ip's manually to have more control over the computers, stuff like port forwarding.... now i've installed windows 2003 and obviously going to use it as a server, now how can i use the w2k3 dhcp/dns/etc/ to give ip's from the server while keeping those port forwarding's working? i'm not sure if this is easily done with w2k3, i haven't used it much so if it has a very obvious answer i do not know right now, sorry so basically, i only want the server to use the router and i want other computers to work back & forth with the router and the server. a crap something like that i cannot explain well. hope someone gets it

http://www.msfn.org its a very interesting page

the driver problem is wierd, do u have sepeate drivers for it or does sp1 recognize it? 2nd, if u're asking if u'll get the drive letters back, u'll most probably will get them right, unless u add/remove hdd's or any other device.
-
designed for IE, (at least that text box isn't displayed properly on opera 8) i'd expect pictures in nlite guide and others, not so long descriptive sentences. why is the page all black/white/gray? what happened to 32billion colors? if i were u i'd get a news posting script or something for the news section... and u'd agree with this if not to any above, u need more tweaks in tweaks section to really call it a tweaking site but i do applause your effort!

happy birthday un4given! sorry for noticing late

oh yea? do u know that while u're playing a game it uses and loads billions of files and speed of the hdd very much changes lots of things! apart from this when i switched from 5400rpm to 7200rpm years ago it felt as if i had bought a new system. why do u think there have been scsi's laying around? bc u need to obtain data while reading/writing on the hdd, and therefore the speed is very important. also random access time is important as well. 1 see 2 things 1 is the ram other thing is obviously the graphics card. it performs low on brand new games, all the benchmarking programs can state this truth...just bc u see 256mb in the graphics card doesn't mean that its good. get a tnt2 with 512mb ram how much is that going to effect? also the lag u might be getting from the games can be due to fragmentation of the hdd. i've 1 partition only for my games and i defrag it often, since its a smaller partition it takes not so much time to defrag. anyways i've talked to much in this thread, its time for decision quick reminder, check for virus/spyware/malware/stupidware/underwear check your registry for errors, defrag your registry, close startup items, stop unneccessary services via services.msc. sleep more play less, study hard , play more pay less ok /quit.

well isn't it obvious ms's specialized in usa bill gates visited Turkey 2 days ago, he promised to build a 2nd silicon valley in turkey, so maybe after that they'll care more about outside of usa
-
i agree to that, no flaming, i'm sure he knows something that u've never heard of! he probably never cared to know the difference, now he wants to learn it, its pretty normal. would u like to answer the question for him with your great great knowledge?
