well when that computer turns on do u get notification or something? bc when that computer turns on at a different location the ip address will change.. but i dunno which vnc u're using so, if u're vnc's set to connect to your computer, (which might mean he can control yours) then yes i believe u can control it..

i think ppl are missing the point, first of all in order to remotly do anything that burglar has to get on the internet. and in order for u to find him u need his ip, or mac address or computer name or etc etc. so i don't think u'll ever manage to shutdown the computer, even if u shut it down once, i'm sure he's not that stupid and he'll unplug the net cord and get on. applying an admin password also won't get u to anywhere, there are many ways to pass that.. good luck, but best thing would be to get one of those cords that attach your laptop to the wall or something. is laptop the only thing missing? if so, r u suspecting anyone?, what kind of information did u have there? if its really really valuable and if that burglar knows it, he'll find a way in. if u're just worried that your credit card number or something like that was saved in your computer along with your pin number etc, call the bank to do the neccessary things. or/and go to local police dept..

thanks but i prefer the send to since i've set my folder in there, selecting move to or copy to is slow, i've to browse through the folders.

i do not agree with u either rupert86, first i don't agree with muslims having greater influence of religion on our lives over other religions. 2nd, god's unhappy with us? god was sending prophets, can still send some, and our lives were supposed to be like a "test" in this world according to most religions,.. eeh anyways, don't want to get into boring and indefinite topic, I could say this is due to global warming if i'd be talking scientifically instead..

no no that's not that i've had the same problem, i only have this issue with hotmail. when it syncronizzzzez it creates duplicates if u're viewing the syncronized folder, in my case, i go directly to hotmail inbox, and it creates multiple entries. i sort of solved it by not going to the hotmail inboz at start-up, instead went to local inbox,draft etc..

typing in mmc worked, but i cannot save anything and bc of that when i close it the services.msc and others won't work, only method is to manually go to mmc. extracting the file did not change anything..

hi there my mmc consoles were working, then suddenly they stopped working i dunno why? i cannot enter any of the mmc's like services.msc, diskmgmt.msc, can't get into hardware device manager what could have caused this? i installed ryan's .net 1.1, my tv tuner app, shareaza and offline explorer after it stopped working, but i've been using those apps, on my previous format as well never had problems, my current system is nlited, can it be related? the file exist and i've admin privileges...

@soulin doesn't getmac.exe work? but i could modify it and write it in unattend.txt.. simple.. but as there are many system builders i'm sure they've a nice app to do that, am i mistaken? try http://oem.microsoft.com .. @jaclaz something simpler maybe, its a whole os code u're requesting, i'm not THAT advanced, if i use windows as base and try to make it bootable, than slack and temp files on operations have to be written to somewhere, maybe ram but for big operations your hdd have to be used, i dunno how bartpe/winpe manages that, but as u said its a loooong shot for me , crap that's a no, hmm what else?
