the latest drivers for nvidia drivers had bugs so if you type win in dos it will not boot

possibly the xp home key is no longer genuine and you may be trying to install xp home sp2 with a key that was blacklisted before sp2

the box i had nt4 on doesnt have nt4 on it anymore so it doesnt matter now if you were to use the 2k scanner driver you would need to rewrite the inf file maybe or something

what is the error? if it is an error about version. Removing Version Checker for wmplayer10 download resource hacker http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/ extract the zip file where ever suitable open resource hacker (reshacker.exe) open mplayer10setup file in reshack expand the rcdata folder, expand vercheck right click on the expanded eg. 1033 select delete and say yes save and exit now the installer has no version checker it should work assuming that the error was a version checker this may not work on all versions of wmplayer10 setup

why do you need all those skining programs wouldnt it make much more sense to install Revolutions Pack 7 which has inbuilt theming engine which doesnt have any processes

well yes there are apps but xsetup is for win95+ and does lots and lots of different things. the tweak pack is aimed at 98se i think or at least 9x and doesnt contain tweaks for things like msoffice like xsetup

im pretty sure they are built into xp, set the theme to clasic and than go to appearence and do what you like

outlook express is bundled with ie so you need to get a copy of ie6 and install outlook express

for cs source you need 64mb video card so id suggest an Nvidia GeForce4 Ti i have a GeForce4 MX 420 PCI card that works quite well. the lowest 64MB Nvidia video card is Geforce2 Ti. i believe there is an ATI 128MB PCI card if you need a PCI card

im sure there is a tweak for icon size cache in there well it says you should have at least 64mb ram 128mb of ram should be enough. ive installed usp on 64mb of ram and 128mb ram without problems. if you really want tweaks you should look into the tweak pack by soperiffic

i dont have another board which supports p3 slot1 ive tested the network cards, agp video, hdd the main untested thing is the cpu, but it ran fine with prime 95 for 72minutes but it did get an error with memtest when i was using a pci video card. the computer doesnt freeze when the network card is installed. it only freeze once there is network activity like when you start firefox

Ive found that by putting an AGP video card in and no PCI cards it doesnt freeze. (also cleaned cpu heatsink and fan) but now i cant use my network card because its a pci card

opera 9.10 occasionally use ie6 because it is set as default and starts faster than opera

ill try a different psu soon, from since i got the mobo it has always run at 733Mhz if i put a stick of ram in the second slot it doesnt get recognised. i dont remember any temperature options in the bios

The RAM is not bad because ive used different ram and it still freezes The CPU runs at 733Mhz rather than 750Mhz Only one RAM slot works Ive tried diffrent different HDD, RAM, PSU dissabling stuff. i managed to install w98 without freezing at one stage by either dissabling the secondary ide chanel or taking out all the pci cards. Dream Linux LiveCD, NT4, 98se all freeze. Started freezing all of a suddon pretty much after an hour or so of aoe2 over two days on win2k. It is possible that another cap has died because i replaced 2 caps. but when i had the bad caps it wouldnt freeze when installing windows tried running prime95 on nt4 and it froze eventually. when it is frozen there is nothing that can be done it just has to be restarted.

but than you have to still worry about digital protection on the host os
