  1. there was the supervga+ project that LLXX was doing it but she killed it because it was too hard and instead is concentrating on intel 915 series video adapters. XP VGA doesnt work with all video adapters anyway There is the Windows 9x Still Alive Campaign http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...;hl=still+alive
  2. hmm, at least they could have really used the vista bsod rather than a 9x one
  3. Was trying it recently and got a new error message Signing into MSN Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. 8007000d
  4. have tried it am using it at the moment, im not surei really like the way it is configured, it is fast and comes with nvidia drivers yay!!
  5. well it would work but it didnt meet the needs of PROBLEMCHYLD.
  6. 95a/b/c and NT on one machine. 98/SE/ME/2000 on another. XP/2003/Vista on a third. wouldnt work 1. 95a/b/c 2. NT 3. 98/98SE/ME 4. 2000 5. XP/2003/Vista would work better
  7. well the p3s i was building i had to have sophos and i didnt have anymore ram and the image was an xp image, they were so much faster when they ran nt4

  9. ok My computers Specs Aopen case IBM 6266G6A Motherboard Pentium III 866Mhz 256MB Smart Modular PC133 SDRAM 15GB Seagate (ST315320A) 7200RPM HDD 40GB Seagate (ST340014A) 7200RPM HDD LITE-ON DVD-ROM Drive Nvidia Geforce 4MX 420 PCI Creative Vibra 128 Soundcard
  10. ie isnt the most horrible browser in existence, personaly i think netscape is the worst but anyway
  11. i made a mistake a meant mandrake 10.2 was a resource hog but xp is a much bigger resource hog, have you tried running xp on 64 mb of ram, i disabled most of the services, the install probably only took a short three hours or so and it wasnt practically doing more than one thing at once. also sure xp can run on a p3 866mhz with 128mb ram but if sophos is installed on it than it wont run anymore
  12. oh in terms of a lite distribution there is an ubuntu lite that aparantly can run on a p166 however it does not have a partition manager and will wipe your primary hard disk for you.
  13. max specs? anyway the fastest computer i have seen nt4 run on was an intel desktop board with a p4 1.7 256mb ram and an nvidia tnt2 32mb i think. NT4 is sort of horible to for drivers and you need to install atlest service pack 4 before you can have it recognise hdd's over 8gb and i would assume it doesnt support 48bit lba. 77.72 nvidia driver was released for nt4 sp6 which probably includes the highest video card of choice, besides you dont need a video card which has lots of ram because nt4 only comes with directx 3 (you can have dplay 6.1). nvidia drivers http://www.nvidia.com/object/winnt_77.72.html nt4 service pack 6a http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en edit: the nt4 windows update site still works
  14. ooooh isa whats the slot just above the isa that is half the size of the pci slot the suspended hdd reminds me of when i had a hdd on a piece of paper because i didnt have enough room for a third hdd. It was funny because i would say i have 3 hdd's and people would be like wow you have a lot, than i would admit i had 2x quantum fireball 3gb and 1 x 4gb (seagate?) i bet i have an older computer than you Jeremy, i have two amstrad CPC 464 which have built in tape drives and 4 colour monitors the screen says its from 1984 and theres the slot that came before isa the 8bit slot, does anyone know what its called
