You can use Terminal Services to login to the other domain but the login scripts don't run when you do so? Do the scripts run when you login with that same domain user from within its domain?

Yeah, TommyP will probably say to NOT use those other sets and to stick with the current set posted on the link above. He has put a lot of work into it and it works well. Brave? FDV's fileset doesn't require any courage His guide helps you choose, but basically if you need IE or use some software that depends on IE, then don't use his files. Otherwise, go for it! They are extremely dependable as he has been tweaking and bug-fixing them for *years*. Did you provide that feedback to Tommy? He might be able to produce a pack that works for even more people if he knows about such things.Oleg is MIA. I believe that he was last heard from prior to going on a trip somewhere, but that was quite some time ago. Hopefully he is OK. He is probably under a beach umbrella being served exotic drinks by even more exotic women -I- does have a point, but I would suggest that you try to use existing threads instead of starting new ones. It makes it easier for people to go back and find information without reading multiple threads.

Aw, crap. Sorry about that. Guess I'm not "up on thangs"

It didn't seem that crazy at the time But yeah, that was overboard; which is funny to me since I have been known to call for toned-down suggestions that don't go beyond the scope (har har) of the home office. My only excuse is that SR's post is more advanced than grandma that needs to power cycle her router. And, yeah, clusters require 2kAS. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every FLY in the room, accept no substitutes

Try SNMPGetSet.

Hosts on your network can ping each other by IP but not by hostname? What software do you want to use for your caching server? Microsoft?

On the adapter in question, ensure it has a static IP in the subnet (scope) that you want. The DHCP server will receive DHCP requests on that interface and assign an IP in that subnet. The client couldn't get connectivity otherwise since it would be unable to reach the router's interface. I don't think you need to manually bind a scope to an adapter although that would be cool. Personally, I would go with static for your stuff and bind the DHCP *server* (as opposed to the scope) to the adapter hosting the AP. You could also try clustering and binding two DHCP servers to different adapters. Being on two different subnets will logically separate the networks as long as you have the netmasks setup properly.

You can try this method for drivers as well. For BTS, you don't have to include all of the packs if you don't want to. We should probably be using an existing drivers thread...we are going off-topic :/

Thanks for the great feedback! Do you know that this file works and isn't corrupted? ie, have you watched it before? Let's try this first: Use MPC to open a RealMedia video that works Go to VIEW, OPTIONS, PLAYBACK, OUTPUT On that screen there are lots of overlay options...try changing the ones for RealMedia - DX9 first, then hit OK, then close MPC Re-open the realmedia that you know worked before (wtih MPC still) and try to play it again with the new overlay option If it works, try the variable bitrate file (rmvb) again If the rmvb doesn't work, try going back to the options and pick DX7 this time, follow the steps above. If you still have no luck please let me know. You can also try monkeying with the other settings in that panel. They can have a dramatic impact on video performance but it varies wildly depending on your vid card, drivers, and DX.

Dirt, Try this thread for BTS info: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=72749

That is the frame of mind they want. "XP is old and has that WGA crap...so I'll just buy a shiny new copy of Vista as soon as it comes out...I can't wait!" bah. Try linux instead.

Try resetting the router to its default settings. If transfers work, then add on your custom settings and test file transfers after each change until you isolate the problem.
-
So you can copy other things like office documents just fine but media files get corrupted? And it happens whether you stream or copy? That is really odd. Have you customized any settings on the router? Does it have the latest firmware? Do you still have the old router? You should try plugging it back in to see if everything works agaain.

@gzduke5: can you give us a gspot report? Please list this info for the affected video: 4CC, compatible video codecs, and stream type. This is all reported by gspot for a properly encoded file. AFTER you get this data, click on RENDER, wait for it to finish, and then click on "Rendering successful (click for details)". I'd be interested to hear what is in there as well.

Oh wait a second...are those the new file names that TC mentioned? Sorry, I didn't connect the dots at first The HFCDC0* filenames threw me way off.
-
@TC: Do the file copy errors Kiki mentioned correlate with your recent file copy changes that you mentioned? The screenshots he posted list files that are not from me. @Kiki, yeah we are down to 45 files now. That is likely to change when I get a chance to look at real/qt again. 3) TC mentioned some changes that could affect this pack. I'm sure he will have some insight. Thanks!

Thanks for the report, gzduke. It looks like I need to move real from the 'sometimes works' to 'doesn't work' category :/ I'm going to install Real Alternative in a VM soon and see if I can capture the trick to getting it to work. It could be something that a raw pack like this can't do. It will be a week or two before I can address this, please use Real Alternative in the meantime. Sorry
-
PM, and your mileage may vary.
-
TC is on target. It is unlikely that we would get banned w/o posting info about WGA circumvention. I was partly joking but mostly making sure none of my hombres get busted for an honest mistake.
-
Sorry, wasn't trying to imply that tommyp didn't still drive this project. I was just curious about the formats since they didn't seem consistent...and I can't install 7-zip on my workstation at work. I can help out with the hosting if you like. I have way more bandwidth than I know what to do with.
-
@TC: Why is the HFSLIP test release published as a .7-zip? It looks like all of your other files, including the final HFSLIP, are standard .zips.
-
Yes, they can. Until the courts say otherwise. More money and assured market dominance.
