  1. 1. This is not a warez site! Links/Requests to warez and/or illegal material (porn, cracks, serials, etc..) will not be tolerated. Discussion of circumventing WGA/activation/timebombs/keygens or any other illegal activity will also not be tolerated. You will be banned without notice.
  2. I think "F" is even faster but remember to only use A, B or C if you use HFCLEANUP
  3. Wow. @FDV: Your site is down right now @AgiHammerklau: You can find most of the stuff at http://hfslip.org @Tomcat76: What all was FDV still hosting that can not be found on hfslip.org?
  4. The current reducer set is not complete. Reducing SystemMonitor, PerformanceLogsAndAlerts and WMI all three still left about 11 meters working. I am happy with that. NOT reducing SystemMonitor gives you at least five more meters and I find them to be helpful ones. I am very happy with that. My current test setup does NOT reduce these: And it is working great for me so far. AD seems to be working great, I have the meters I want and Outlook 2003 will install and run in plain text and rich text modes.I find it interesting the using all of the IE-related reducers has little effect on Outlook. You just can't use HTML rendering. Using FDV, on the other hand, gives Outlook all kinds of weird problems from not starting up to not being able to access the network. The only ones that I actually HAVE to NOT reduce for the above requirements are these: The rest I do not reduce just because I don't want to do so.My current ISO is around 100MB but I am not using patches yet and I am not using high file compression.
  5. Not for most people. The most commonly used interface to these tools is Performance Logs and Alerts. If you use that or an app that pulls that same data then you need to leave this in. With the current fileset, I have found that the WMI reducer is fine to use whereas the SystemMonitor reducers actually provide the counters. I can't tell yet whether or not using the WMI reducers will have a real impact on capability outside of a VM.
  6. It does a pretty good job. There are a few meters left but not many. It reports statistics about the computer. I use it for system and performance monitoring.
  7. I have a TX2000 and it works quite well for me. I did have a small problem with the drivers on 2003 Server but it was resolved with an update. Don't forget to update the firmware as well.
  8. Having much better luck now! It seems that Network_ActiveDirectory.rem may be the only requirement for joining an AD domain. My most recent run reduced cluster and network monitor/tools and AD seemed to be working just fine. I will test it some more to ensure GPO and other such things are working properly. The other two things I am working on are WMI and Outlook 2003. Outlook is working fine except for HTML support but I may just leave that as it is. WMI is giving me really mixed results when I try different combinations of Performance monitoring, System monitoring, and WMI service. I'll post my results when I get the best solution.
  9. Perhaps a label next to the download would be helpful? Or maybe some color?
  10. OK, it is working now. I had more problems at first even though I ran "mode C" but it turned out to be because I had a special tweak in my HFSLIP config that was interfering with HFCLEANUP. Thanks for the help! Back to work on my Active Directory project...
  11. That was to disable just that file for a while so that my test runs would go a bit quicker. Good catch
  12. I am hoping he will post the code
  13. Will you post how you did it?
  14. Not sure that I understand your question entirely... But I think you are asking if you can have 2 DCs on a network with one being 2003 and the other 2000. The answer to that is yes.
  15. Haha, nice! My fave: http://unix.rulez.org/~calver/pictures/stu...ers/sct005.html
  16. Oh yeah! The readme states to use driver compression method A, B or C. A little birdie told me about how much faster HFSLIP runs go with the least compression and I was so impressed at the speed that it didn't occur to me that I was breaking HFCLEANUP. I'll change that option and try again when I get home. Thanks, tommyp!
  17. Anyone heard from SiMoNsAyS?
  18. Is Outlook set to auto-BCC you? Some people do that for record-keeping purposes.
  19. What if you used DHCP for a while? The lease information could get changed/updated if the connection is dropped+restored. If you run the DHCP server yourself then you may be able to verify the data on both ends. Of course, this wouldn't tell you if the client only lost access past the gateway for some reason.
  20. I've been monkeying around with HFCLEANUP a lot trying to find the sweet spot of reduction vs. Windows Domain (Active Directory) compatibility with Win2K Pro. So far I can report that these reducers should NOT be used in order to join a domain: Network_ActiveDirectory.rem Network_NetworkMonitorDriverAndTools.rem Network_NetworkMonitorDriverAndTools.rin However, I am having a problem with HFCLEANUP that may be skewing my results. On a recent run, I reduced DTC, DLTC, and COM+ but I saw them get installed during GUI setup. I also saw that they were running after I logged in. I am not using many features for my test runs because my main goal was trimming source down with HFCLEANUP while keeping AD functionality. Log attached. Many thanks to Tomcat76 for helping me get this far! I built my HFCLEANUP fileset by downloading the zips on FDV's site as of yesterday. What am I doing wrong for HFCLEANUP to not reduce my source properly? HFSLIP.zip
  21. I found that making that change saved me about 5mins on my runs.
  22. I believe he was using it to advertise, so we had to change it when he was banned for multiple instances of badness.
  23. You certainly came to the right place! Welcome
  24. I've heard nothing but horror stories and danger warnings about opening up CRTs. Supposedly there is some serious capacitance inside there and you can get zapped if you don't know what you are doing. And I would venture to guess that adjusting the guns is not easily done.
  25. Any chance that your vid cable is a bit loose on one end? I've seen that cause this.
