  1. Already tried that Still trying to determine the cause on my end. Running Opera 9.24 here with no problems yet After trying everything else, I upgraded Opera to 9.24. Problem solved Thanks!
  2. I've heard that non-Americans have a harder time getting "Verified" status with PayPal. Sorry, but I don't know the ins and outs of it

    HFSLIP.org upgrade

HFSLIP.org's server will be down for upgrades on Sunday night. The upgrade itself shouldn't take long. Downtime should be minimal depending on how many problems pop up. If you experience problems on or after Monday morning, please let us know.
  6. Here are the vendor's recommendations (CentOS is based on RH). The answer to your question depends a lot on what the server will be doing. Here is more good reading: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/hand...art=1#doc_chap2 http://www.lockergnome.com/chrisshort/2005...x-partitioning/ http://www.tldp.org/LDP/sag/html/partitions.html
  7. Have you reviewed the recommendations in this thread?
  8. You want a Captive Portal. Depending on your AP, you might be able to run ChilliSpot. I hear that ZoneCD is also popular. It is based on NoCat.
  9. Please use that new thread instead of this old one. Thanks, OverFlow! [ closed ]
  10. Do you still have the problem when you use another browser? Or is this just an IE6 problem?
  11. But, as the name suggests, it only has three outputs. Not four. I think one of those Quad cards would work well. But they are pricey.
  12. "Tools" -> "AutoCorrect Options" -> “Replace text as you type” and "Tools" -> "AutoCorrect Options" -> “Automatically use suggestions from the spelling checker”
  13. Looks great! The DeviantArt folks should love it
  14. Viewing a web page is essentially the same as downloading a file. The browser decides what to do (display the page or prompt for download) based on the MIME type. But if you don't have this problem with any other sites then that may not be the issue. Surf around to a few other sites. Especially ones that are based on VirtuaNews like MSFN's front page.
  15. Glad to hear you could isolate the problem. Is this a configuration issue, or does the vendor need to fix their product?
  16. Is this thread deprecated?
  17. A bad MIME type (or filetype association), perhaps? If so, you should have this problem on other web sites.
  18. What platforms are the personal FTP and website FTP? Depending on your answer to that question, you'll likely end up using a folder synchronization or backup tool (perhaps rsync) or you may be able to use an FTP that monitors folders and performs actions on them. I think GuildFTPd might interest you.
  19. Different users can't sort their list how they please? I can't think of a GPO to do this, but users should be able sort the list by right-clicking and "sort by name".
  20. When you click on those links within Event Viewer, what URL does it send you to?
  21. So, that works? What are you trying to do next?
  22. Ensure "Show in taskbar when connected" is checked. Right-click the tray icon for the network connection. View the Status. The negotiated speed is displayed.
  23. Undocumented tips are fun Thanks for contributing this!
  24. Nice guide, Vishal Gupta! Although this is for XP, it looks like most (or all?) of them should work on 2000. Thanks!
  25. Server seems to be doing fine now. It appears that the problem was that I'd added too many IPs to the block list. I aggresively deny service to malicious netblocks. The server was choking on the task of checking all those entries for each new client. A new protection scheme is in place to alleviate the extensive block list.
