  1. This is like Keepvid, but supports some different sites: http://clipnabber.com/
  2. Isn't SilverLight being designed for this?
  3. Your odds of getting assistance increase if you translate the German to English for us. Good luck
  4. Isn't that a recent phenomenon? I seem to recall reading in the past year or so that they were *starting* to do that.
  5. I recently went on a business trip and a friend of mine let me borrow her nuvi 350. If anyone is thinking about getting one of these, I do *not* recommend it. The device froze up (crashed) several times. It also got very confused every time I went over a bridge. It was then useless (in both circumstances) until I stopped the car, reset the device, and re-initiated the driving directions.
  6. I've heard that the problem you mention does exist in this version.
  7. This page says that the link is still current. They also sell it in their store if you want it faster.
  8. This post is a bit CURT. Haven't seen any stats for a while...

    Test results

Mr. Smith goes to the doctor's office to collect his wife's test results. The insurance clerk says to him, "I'm sorry, sir, but there has been a bit of a mix-up and we have a problem. When we sent the samples from your wife to the lab, the samples from another Mrs. Smith were sent at the same time and we are now uncertain which one is your wife's. Frankly, the situation is either bad or terrible!" "What do you mean?" "Well, one Mrs. Smith tested positive for Alzheimer's and the other Mrs. Smith has tested positive for AIDS. We can't tell which test is your Wife's." "That's terrible! Can we do the test over?" "Normally, we could do that. But you have an HMO, and they won't pay for these expensive tests more than once in a year, so we can't repeat the test again until next year." "Well, what am I supposed to do now?" "The HMO recommends that you drop your wife off on the outskirts of town... if she remembers the way home, don't sleep with her."

    Old timers

Couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things. During a check-up, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember. Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. "Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?" he asks. "Sure." "Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?" She asks. "No, I can remember it." "Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so's not to forget it?" He says, "I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.""I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write It down!" she says. Irritated, he says, "I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!" So off he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for a moment. "Where's my toast?"

    Dirty Pope

A shy gentleman was preparing to board a plane when he heard that the Pope was on the same flight. "This is exciting," thought the gentleman. "I've always been a big fan of the Pope. Perhaps I'll be able to see him in person." Imagine his surprise when the Pope sat down in the seat next to him. Shortly after take-off, the Pope began a crossword puzzle. "This is fantastic," thought the gentleman. "I'm really good at crosswords. Perhaps, if the Pope gets stuck, he'll ask me for assistance." Almost immediately, the Pope turned to the gentleman and said, "Excuse me, but do you know a four letter word referring to a woman that ends in ‘unt'?" Only one word leapt to mind. "My goodness," thought the gentleman, "I can't tell the Pope that. There must be another word." The gentleman thought for quite a while, then it hit him. Turning to the Pope, the gentleman said, "I think the word you're looking for is ‘aunt'." "Of course," said the Pope. "Do you have an eraser?"

    New aid

A man was telling his neighbour, "I just bought a new hearing aid. It cost me four thousand dollars, but its state of the art. It's perfect." "Really?" answered the neighbour. "What kind is it?" "Twelve thirty."

    Cyanide

There was a farmer who raised watermelons. He was disturbed by some local kids who would sneak into his watermelon patch at night and eat watermelons. After some careful thought he came up with a clever idea that he thought would scare the kids away for sure. So he made up the sign and posted it in the field. The next day the kids show up and they see this sign, it says: "Warning!! One of the watermelons in this field has been injected with cyanide." So the kids run off, make up their own sign and post it next to the sign that the farmer made. The farmer shows up the next week and when he looks over the field he notices that no watermelons are missing but he notices a new sign next to his. He drives up to the sign which read: "Now there are TWO".
  14. This site is pure gold: http://www.forummatrix.org/ Of the three you are asking about, I'd go with SMF. Have you tried using a skin? You can change the appearance.
  15. Abander's program was *sooooo* close to what I want. It had a dialog like I envisioned that showed the album results from freedb and allowed you to choose from them. But it didn't apply that info to the tags! Doh! :angrym: Thanks for suggesting foobar and mp3tag, but neither of those programs perform this function. Foobar had a 3rd party plugin that looked promising, but it is deprecated. The search continues!
  16. Info on WMI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Manag...Instrumentation Getting the data you seek is tough if you don't have access to that drive or the host machine. Do you have remote access to the host machine? I think you are seeking the data found here: Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Shared Folders. The subfolders there provide information on who is accessing what. To access the remote machine for this dialog (you are likely looking at your local data right now), highlight the top-level of the tree (Computer Management (Local)) and then select Action -> Connect to another computer. You can reach the remote machine in that dialog if you are in an AD environment.
  17. Yes, that was my point. Using an ethernet cable might be your solution.
  18. Of those, I recommend Mambo/Joomla. Have you looked at Drupal?
  19. I was watching American cable news at the time. They did a surprisingly good job of *not* jumping to conclusions. They were quick to report that it was just a fire (no explosion) and that emergency crews had it under control.
  20. I started on Slackware, but don't recommend it for your first venture. Ubuntu is popular these days.
  21. Would you like to touch my VARE? Go ahead. You know you want to. Your mom liked it.
  22. As for your topic title, this subforum (networking) is generally platform-independent. Questions that only apply to a specific OS tend to do well in that respective OS's subforum. But the gist of your post seems to be that you want to start a new program/project. Perhaps this topic should be moved to the Developer's subforum?
  23. I'm not sure what you are after here. Feedback on the sites? Help installing the CMS? Recommendations for other CMSs?
  24. Are you using a USB NIC? USB devices often have issues with standby.
