Again if you read earlier the /INTEGRATE switch does not work with this patch. If it did this thread would not exist. It's now a matter of figuring out how to manually integrate or install early enough so that the audio drivers will install properly without user intervention.

Edit disk 1 so that it assigns you cdrom a known drive letter like W:, then change the autoexec.bat so that it does not ask for disk 2 but continues on and launches ghost.exe from the cd w:\ghost.exe. put ghost.exe on your cd with your image file and away you go.

it depends upon you TV tuner card, most will work in PRO and Media, some only in media. The two cards I have one from MSI don't remember which and I have a the DTV tuner from ATI both came with DVR software, the ATI card is a royal pain to set up and has to be paired with an ATI video card (according to them).

turn off the messenger service, it's not needed. If you install SP2 it should be disabled afterwards.

integrate your raid drivers as textmode drivers and then make you unattended cd. see the guide and look under intermediate -> drivers -> sata/raid drivers

I may not be an old geezer like you two, but I started on a TRS-80 model 1 (type2). Man I loved that machine, you couldn't kill it and it had a direct connection to the io bus available on the left side of the expansion interface. Those were the days, when you needed a whole desk just for the computer and another for your phone and other stuff.

after expanding the driverpacks just delete the folders containing the unneeded drivers before running th scripts to create the oemdriverpath.

Do a repair install, I take images from one system type to another with very different motherboard and just do a repair and away they go.

Either boot from xp cd and run from repair console, or make a BartPE cd and run it from there, or mount drive in another machine with a functioning os as a secondary drive and run chkdsk on it from the other os. This is also typical of systems which have failing hard drives.

It would be nice that if M$ providea a patch with the /integrate: swith that it would actually integrate.

I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

As a tech I don't use any. At a cost of $500us+ it's cheaper to keep a handful of spare parts around (from other dead systems) than to have a diagnostic card around. But one that I've seen and tested is the Ultra-x P.H.D. PCI from www.ultra-x.com it's discontinued now but they have a newer version available. As far as diags, start witha minimum config, motherboard, video, processor, memory only and then see what happens.

if this is a SP2 integrated cd you shouldn't need DirectX installed afterwards, its in SP2. Try leaving out MP10, iTunes, Media Connect and highmat and see what happens. You can use your existing cd, just catch it before the installs start boot into safe mode and delete those entries from the registry, reboot and it will continue.

By the way welcome to the forum. I'd try a unmodified UA but with your apps and see if it works.

I haven't had nLite cause this in any of my installs. I've mainly seen this on systems which have been up and running and the users messed something up somewhere along the line. If you remove nothing via nLite does it work?

i've seen iTunes, Roxio, Nero, and many other cd applications cause this problem.

face plates and tray faces are removable, just take them off before painting and replace after drying.

This is normally caused by one of the files listed upper or lower filters being missing/corrupted. They are mainly added by DVD playing software, burning software, etc. Try not installing related apps and see if it works then install them one at a time and see when it breaks.

if you don't see the security tab that diggity mentioned got to tools-> options -> view -> scroll all the way to the bottom of advanced settings and turn 'Use simple file sharing (Recommended)' off. Then the security tab will be available when you do properties on the folder.

You got more out of them than I did. They wouldn't even say that you could do it via svcpack.inf when I was trying. They just told me to run it after the install was complete.
