KB938829 is not only gdi32.dll, it has additional two files that are not replaced by any other updates: mf3216.dll and user32.dll . And another one (win32k.sys) that is updated by something else. GL KB938829 is the NEW update. KB925902 is the OLD update, consist ONLY of gdi32.dll and should be removed. Tested safe to remove.

Not so harmless: May also allow "harmless" critical updates instalation without user intervention. Version 3?: Why a V3 replaces not a V2 but an oldie never seen KB916089? 2 part?: Please note that this update is the first part of a two-part update that is the comprehensive solution to the problem. In June, another update will involve the Windows Update client. The update for the Windows Update client will also be automatically offered through Automatic Updates. IMMO if there is any doubt then there is no doubt. I was expecting something like this from M$. Will see what the 2nd part do this month (now)...
