We can't get Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1.
submix8c replied to blackwingcat's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
Really? Does that mean the IEAK6 will work again? -
Most Updates in CAB format are usually Drivers or specialized updates. Drivers can be unzipped/extracted and use the INF file for "Update Driver" Go to -X- website (in his signature) and check out the list of files (from SP3 through latest). Get them downloaded on a PC connected to the Internet and install to the one not connected. This won't include the "specialized" ones (CABS/z-Zip, etc) that can't be directly installed but can be integrated with nLite. It IS possible to install the "specialized" ones BUT there is no "script" to do it.

?Still questioning the installation of the complete package. It includes the CCC which is IMHO really unnecessary for a PE (see post#12 here). Shouldn't only the 1st three be necessary (isolation should be a treat...) at maximum? CCC is very similar to nVidia Display Panel (an "add-on" software) in function. Or am I missing something (again)?

?Post#16 - SETUP.EXE Clear TEMP folder, Run, DO NOT click "ok" when msg "must be run from", copy files/folder from TEMP folder to "elsewhere", follow install instructions (see other posts) for the two MSI files. Notes/warnings: This may or may not work/function depending on your ATI card. "Buyer beware". Why? Bro had gotten a used "ATI All In Wonder VE PCI" (no CD - obtained drivers/software from ATI - YES the correct ones) and it refuses to allow non-copy-protected (recorded himself for a sermon) videos to be played from his videocam to edit for the WWW. He wound up using a webcam instead. So... if it works for you, fine, otherwise don't complain and don't post saying "doesn't work". Why? I do NOT know and it wasn't worth the effort to figure it out. In addition, trying this may be construed as questionably legal even though you own the card but have no CD. Frustrating, isn't it?

Referring to MSBATCH.INF and Driver Folders? The trick is getting the drivers (in this case) to the HDD. This was done using a BAT file invoked from a specialized CD Boot Image. You'll have to figure it out from here... edit - LoneCrusader's method MIGHT work... MSBATCH.zip

Did you by chance "create" a Limited User Account and use that one for AutoLogon? Do you mean GRPCONV? edit - Shall we link the topics?

I'm going to help you out on #3, Blash... Go here and read carefully. See what happened? edit - and I found a WONDERFUL notation... Need I say more?

USB Device LEGACY SUPPORT [enable | disable] Yes, very confusing BIOS-speak. It means USB Keyboard and/or Mouse is attached for e.g. DOS or Safe-Mode (no "driver" required) BUT the OS will install it as a USB Human Interface Device. AFAIK, it has nothing to do with "other" devices, particularly (as you mentioned) a USB Modem which requires a Driver to function at all. That's the best description I can give ATM.

1 - EXPLAIN yourself - SPECIFICALLY! Do you mean "Classic" View?2 - YOU GOT THAT 3 - NONONONONONO!!!!!! Getting tired of this...

1 - You will need your Product Key if you don't already have it (google KeyFinder XP) 2 - If it's an HP PC with a vendor-install (i.e. you bought it new and it's SLP-oriented) see this and this 2 - Depends on how the HP Drivers are "created" - just keep them handy and offline 3 - Look here - unknown how long XP Updates will be kept on MS websites after 2014. a - Install/reinstall XP (from the XP Install disk - OEM, Retail, whatever - upgrade is different) b - Install Drivers c - Install updates d - Install (whatever) -OR- using nLite, slipstream the latest/last Is this what freaked you out? Steveo, do some browsing... Everything is already here...

How nice of you to curse... Potty mouth! -
"COMPRESS.EXE" doesn't exist (AFAIK) on any OS by Default. You need to get the Resource Kit Tools. A search reveals that the latest one is from the Server 2K3 (link I gave). I might (wrongly) assume that it may work on Win7/2K8 x86/x64. However, I found this which indicates the Tools do indeed work. Catalyst Drivers Packages are InstallShield "packed" with NSIS AFAIK. Different beast. Yours? Here is an interesting notation by Trip on "including" an EXE (undoubtedly how the Drivers are downloaded). edit - You can use Universal Extractor to "unpack" it, then you have to use it AGAIN to get the DATA1.CAB unpacked (provided the NEWEST InstallShield wasn't used) inside the Driver folder AND use the appropriate INF's from (maybe) a DIFFERENT folder. This is ONLY the Drivers and NOT the CCC... At least this is how it's done with an OLDER version of Catalyst (+CCC). From AMD link above - "Combo" Packages...

Well, it seems like your "problem" lies in VMWare Player and VirtualBox. Again, I have absolutely no problem in MS' Virtual PC 2007. There must be a "setting" you're failing to use. (VM inside VM? REALLY? Why not a NEW VM?) BTW, in nLite Unattended, you will have to set the "OemSkipEula=Yes" (the selection is there). And in the case of the Partition... Autopartition=0(also within nLite) Try looking here (WINNT.SIF Reference). <-Maybe this will clarify your confusion. Also, did you miss this Sticky? Some nifty Screenshots.

OUCH! Dialup must be clobbering you! The above two posts are "nearly" IDENTICAL!

Beware that! the RAM upgrades are just fine. IF you change a HDD, THEN you will have to FULLY CLONE the old HDD to the New, expanding the Running OS Partition. THEORETICALLY this should cause no problem with Vista/7/8 since as a "norm" WIMS are used for the Recovery Partition (remember those?). SOME manufacturers (cough - DELL) screwed folks up by "hiding" a special "item" in a "secret place" thus disallowing cloning between HDD's.So if you go that route (changing smaller->bigger HDD) come back here FIRST before proceeding. However, normally newer PC's have more than enough HDD space for their needs. Video/Audio editing is a different story...

? NU DOS-era on NTFS??? Um... NTFS Directory Info is in MFT... Hope you did that when it was a FAT and you converted to NTFS... "NOJS"??? Drupal is the only ref I could find?

Methinks you misunderstand - The link doesn't explicitly say that but...edit - found in various Resource Kits (as well as old DOS). Article with link to 2K3 RK...

The left<->right pane doesn't have to apply. The Screen shots are apparently "after" F5 - left side=NT / right side=FAT32 NO WAY!! How do you have your Tools->Options set? This CAN'T be 98SE as the C-drive is NTFS!!! WHAT did you DO????
-
?Does this guy know what he's doing? If it has a "special OEM MBR" -AND- has that "special Recovery Partition" -AND- the Tech changes it - YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE IT!!!! BIOS Selected Boot Device -> Boot Device Boot Record (for HDD=MBR) -> PBR (Partition Boot Record) -> Booted OS How does it have ANYTHING to do with "shutdown"?
-
Your attachments are "gone". How big are they? (see size limit below the "browse/attach" when attaching) edit - NM... I see above... Not left<->right panes - just the Folders/Files in one pane. F5 = Refresh Under Windows 98SE with an NTFS-access Interface Program? (You left that part out in the Description).

Never heard of it. Searching on that phrase yields warez. Searching on "internet download manager" yields a newer "pay" version.
