  1. this time the high CPU usage of the services.exe is gone but you still run so many tools (Avast and Comodo, why both for example?) at startup. Reduce that number or use hibernation most of the time.
  2. I can't really see the cause. Try to capture 2 new traces later this day.
  3. the CPU usage of the Kernel coems from the function ntoskrnl.exe!MiClaimPhysicalRun. That happens with old VMware versions which don't support Win8(.1). Update vmware.
  4. use a different Theme, like the RP one. The RTM theme is as ugly as sin.
  5. boot is much better. But I see that the services.exe has some high CPU usage. Run this command instead to also trace CPU usage: xbootmgr -trace boot -traceFlags BASE+CSWITCH+POWER+LATENCY+DISPATCHER -stackwalk profile+CSwitch+ReadyThread -resultPath C:\TEMP
  6. the symbols only match to 1 version. So it looks like the patchlevel is different on both PCs.
  7. This tip DOES make boot a lot faster for all other users. Windows Prefetcher must learn the layout during the boots. And no, your command doesn't do the same thing.
  8. You need to run this .cmd to capture WMI data: xperf -on PROC_THREAD+LOADER+PROFILE+INTERRUPT+DPC+DISPATCHER -stackwalk profile -BufferSize 1024 -MaxFile 512 -FileMode Circular -f Kernel.etlxperf -start WMILogger -on Microsoft-Windows-WMI-Activity -BufferSize 1024 -f WMI.etlecho At this point, the test pass should be performed.pauseXperf -stopXperf -stop WMILoggerXperf -merge WMI.etl kernel.etl WMItracing.etldel WMI.etldel kernel.etlZip and upload the WMItracing.etl Also use the WPT from the Windows 8.1 SDK in Windows 8.1: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/desktop/bg162891

  10. the trace is corrupted, close LatencyMon before running xperf!
  11. ok, this is the latest version. Try older version or switch to the Microsoft driver and see if this helps.
  12. you need to put the drivers into the Boot.wim, not the install.wim
  13. thanks for the update
  14. don't let Devicemanager search for Updates. Get the latest version from here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&keyword=Intel%20Rapid%20Storage%20Technology%20%28Intel%20RST%29
  15. ok, install this update to fix the BSODs: "0x00000050" Stop error after you install update 2670838 on a computer that is running Windows 7 SP1 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2834140/en-us
  16. I have no idea what you talk about. What is your issue?
  17. yes update the driver. prePendTime is a driver issue.
  18. for 8.1 you need StartIsBack+
  19. in WIn8 32Bit Windows versions are UEFI compatible. They did this to support Secure boot for the Atom Tablets with only 2GB RAM.
  20. I have a feature request. Can you make the copy dialog always on top? It sucks that the conflict dialog is shown in background and only a blinking icon is shown in the taskbar. I missed this several times.
  21. upload the dmp files from C:\Windows\Minidump.
  22. we had this in the past (http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/162036-aero-glass-tweaker-gui-for-win8-v132/) and this tool only caused issues.
