  1. check all componets are seated right, reseat them firmly, like memory, graphics. did u try the old cooler?
  2. if it happened just after you changed the cooler, yes, change it back, see if its ok BEFORE you do, make sure your cooler is seated right. did you use thermal paste?
  3. just installed it on VM, all went fine, only thing i have noticed so far is the restart button after the patch didnt work. obviosuly more will come like themes etc? great start though!
  4. price wise, get a tv, projectors are good yes, hell we have one in every classroom here (like most schools now). BUT, price wise, get a TV, you havent gotta dish out on new bulbs now and then which cost you a few hundred. I have put my PC through a projector a number of times to play games on etc, it is nice, but not sommit I coudl do all the time.
  5. got one at work, use a linksys one: http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c...FVisitorWrapper You can use a USB mouse on it with an adapter, but a USB keyboard with adapter dont work.
  6. Love vesa mounting of flat screens going for a 22", the price different here between 22 and 24 is just to big for my pocket! Looking at either LG or Samsung, might be more likely LG as there not Glossy, not a fan of glossy screens, especially when my back is to my windows...
  7. Just a update of my rig, moved round, wall mounted screen and new keyboard and mouse... New Monitor soon, and maybe new case.
  8. XP FTW! compatibility, performance, stabaility.
  9. u may get lucky if it runs the same chipset, but most the time it wont work, windows goes belly up with a different mothboard - drivers etc - big issue, and for stabability, always re-format after installing a new board, I do.
  10. just for a laugh i've set up a gerbil cam at home Gerbil Cam kinda sad, but kinda fun
  11. 75.89 wpm i type faster when i dont have to read from a **** random story line.....
  12. ok, RMAd my crucial stuff, shoudl get that back by saturday they said. then considering selling that replaced stuff and going for this now: Kingston 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR 400MHz/PC3200 CL3 unbuffered 2.6V Cheap and decent
  13. /edit http://www.ebuyer.com/product/80142 ooooo
  14. like i said, dont think i plan to go with crucial again! nothing wrong in using an opteron for home use btw. btw, please dont patronize me by saying "people never learn", cheers.
  15. Well, had this stuff from work in, and has been totaly fine so far, watch movies, play games etc etc, no BSOD's. Going to get my ballistixs replaced under warrenty, then sell the replaced stuff, then get some different sticks. As its DDR, the only stuff i can find thats decent and not a stupid price is: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....&subcat=481 Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX (2x1GB) CAS2
  16. It BSODed with the Ballistix or the ram from work? with ballistixs, stuff from work has been totally fine (just slow with ir being 1GB )
  17. voltage was fine as fair as im aware. ive just put 2 sticks of memory in from work, and has been fine, yes it bsod's on me again. was abel to watch an entire film! lol so looks liek im RMAing my ballistixs, then ebaying the replaced stuff...i aint goign ballistixs again, this would be the 3rd set to mess up on me
  18. i use lots tbh, but only go with trusted companies.
  19. did that yesterday jcarle thinking the same thing, hehe. My memory was set to AUTO, and was setting memory to 3-4-4-10, should be 3-4-4-8 so set to manual and put right timings in. I know that it tightened them, but its what the manufacture says, and so far so good.
  20. I wanna scream...lol Watching a film....near the end...yep, blue screen... Event viewer: 0x00000024 So, changed SATA cables...reboot within 5 mins of being back in windows, blue screen Event viewer: 0x1000000a This time, removed all PCI cards (sound card and USB expansion card), rebooted, same again... Event viewer: 0x00000024 Removed USB sound card, yep, after a reboot etc, blue screen... Event viewer: 0x100000be Plugged everthing back in, again after login, blue screen... Event viewer: 0x0000050 This time I have removed one stick of memory, so far been logged in for 10/15 mins...but as stated before, these bsod can be VERY random. If i get blue screens, ill take this stick of ram out, put the other in. If that doesnt help, i'lll get some ram from work which I know is fine, and swop it, to see if thats helps. If that doesnt help....down to either Mainboard or CPU. Can't be graphics card as it did before with my old card, unless its the graphics port, which means motherboard. Either way im comming to a bad end...
