  1. Or maybe you turned off UAC.
  2. Right click COMPUTER -> Manage -> Storage -> Disk Management. In the right panel you see your drives. Right click the new drive -> add letter or change path. Choose a letter for your new drive.
  3. Check this out: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922120
  4. I'm using ACDSee 3 and loving it.
  5. This is not possible in Windows 7. I begin to feel sorry for bringing up this subject. I got used to the new start menu in an hour after installing Windows 7, so I'm not disappointed anymore. P.S. Here's a trick to open explorer in Computer rather then libraries: make a shortcut on your desktop of explorer.exe -> right click -> properties -> shortcut tab -> target line put this C:\Windows\explorer.exe /e,::{20d04fe0-3aea-1069-a2d8-08002b30309d}.
  6. You have to have media center in order to install mp3 fix update. You only need that update if you play the mp3s using WMP12, otherwise you don't need it.
  7. Here's mine: Link
  8. Uninstall Windows realtek drivers and install realtek audio drivers for Vista. It might work.
  9. I'm downloading it right now @ 2.1 MB/s. Maybe your connection has some problems...
  10. I knew that. I wanted classic start menu with AERO enabled.
  11. I successfully managed to vlite Windows 7 build 7000. I'm gonna try again!
  12. Thanks.
  13. aviv00 what did you remove from Windows 7 with vlite? Or you're using Win2008 server converted to workstation?
  14. What did you remove from your Win7 installation? I found that it might be safe to remove these: * Speech & Native Language Support. * All additional languages. * Inbox & Premium Inbox games. * Windows Media Centre. * Music & Video samples. * Windows Search. * Tablet PC features. I'm going to try vliting Win7 removing only the parts mentioned above.
  15. Use WinRAR. I think nuhi's going to start compiling 7lite after Windows 7 RTM hits the shelves.
  16. OK, but what did you remove? A list would be nice...thanks.
  17. I've never used Windows search ever. When I need something I use the search in TC, which is more faster.
  18. I'm using build 7000 now. I got over the classic start menu, and no, i'm not dyslexic. I thought it was nice to be able to switch between the two.
  19. But what drivers did you use? Vista drivers, or XP drivers? I installed XP drivers straight out. None of that "compatibility" mode garbage. Works perfectly. Sound environment, surround sound settings, speaker config, EQ.... -edit: rebooted into windows 7 today. Guess what ISN'T working now? Yep, nvmixer. Have sound volume levels, but trying to actually launch the application I get a runtime error. I tried both XP and Vista drivers, but no luck. As I was saying, this is nvidia's fault, not 7's. Windows 7 is NOT Vista, that's for sure. Of course, the code is pretty the same, but it's been cleaned up. I'm sure that Windows 7 RTM it's going to be a hell lot faster than XP SP2/SP3 or Vista. Unfortunately, the software companies and drivers will write vista/7 apps it's gonna take a while (I hope not 10 years!).
  20. In the end, what can and what can't be removed from Windows 7 with vlite? is there a way to "shrink" Windows 7 to 3-4 GB on HDD? Iknow that HDD's are cheap now, but still...
  21. Let me explain: I managed to install nvmixer using the WinXP SP2 compatibility, but other than showing me the master volume it does nothing. I don't get the full app like in XP to be able to customize the way my music sounds: full bass and treble and so on...
  22. I can't make nvmixer tu run all its features under Vista or Windows 7.The only thing that works is nvidia master volume, but that's it. **** nvidia and their s***y apps!
  23. Windows 7 build 7000 is better than vlited Vista SP1. I use it for quite some time now (since bulid 6801 they've come a long way!) and I love it. This will be the 3rd great Windows version after Win98SE and Windows Server 2003 in my opinion.
  24. Did you try runing nvidia system tools in vista compatibility mode? This is not Win7's fault but nvidia's for making s***ty apps. nvmixer doesn't work either 'cause nVidia doesn't ghive a sh!t about end-users just as HP. Vista is more than a year old, but nvidia didn't think about making their apps working in Vista.
