  1. Totally agree: a more strict collaboration with open source projects like ROS would benefit all.
  2. Universal VBE Video Display Driver (for Windows NT Architecture) may help...
  3. Given that I am NOT a developer (much less a Kernel one), couldn't ReactOS core components be (easily?) "ported" instead of reimplementing everything from scratch?
  4. Check this (cool) open source tool: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher
  5. Suggestion: Sonic Foundry's Vegas (if I remember well up to 5 version)...
  6. The best way is to ask hardware manufacturers to fund the project, IMHO; Lenovo, for example, could be interested...

  10. OK, this is a related-news that could be interesting for both projects: Hope that helps, or at least inspires !
  11. Just found this interesting article: http://www.intowindows.com/download-exact-windows-7-shell32-for-xp/ Dunno if it's possible to do the same for Kex'd 98, btw hope that inspires !
  12. I just discovered that IBM released (the source code of their Workplace Shell for Windows: Source code has been released under a proprietary "Workplace Shell For Windows" Public License - v 1.0 Togheter with BeOSWin (attached - public domain ? - sources), could be a good base for an alternative open source shell for Win 9x, IMHO. Hope that helps, or at least inspires ! beoswsrc.zip
  13. Dunno if anyone already knows it (search gives no matches), btw it seems very interesting: Official website SF.net's project page Hope that inspires !
  14. I tested W7/64 and honestly i don't like it, so do you think it's possible to "port" the better things from Win7/64 to XP64 to revive it ?
  15. From I, Hacker (on December 27, 2009): Direct links: http://github.com/callen/Alky-Reborn http://daeken.com/alky-postmortem
  16. Italian, please, and Tango XP (or Crystal Clear) would be great.
  17. I'm noticing problems in a/v synchronizations under XP 64. Can be an HPET problem ? Or, in other words, does XP 64 supports it ? Thanks in advice !
  18. Uhm, it would be great if someone "grabs" a package manager-like for serving KernelEx with 100% functional software (better if open source).
  19. Hey, guyz, I opened a 3ad about VLC+KernelEx @ VideoLAN Forums: http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=64425 Feedbacking is useful !
  20. True, VLC don't have mutch hardware optimizations integrated, but is still better 'cause don't install anything that overhead the system. You don't obtain better quality using the same codec but with a better one ! And note that FFDShow is FFMpeg based too...
  21. ...if you need to kill your Windows 9X/ME performances. If not, choose VideoLAN instead.
  22. If doubt that's true, but If so I (and probably Bill too, that's why he leaved) can understand now why Vista and 7 completely sucks.
