  1. UPDATE (from the "official 3ad" @ WPC):
  2. SF.net's project page Official website
  3. ...an open source Renovatio release !
  4. Cool !!! Any chance to have a Tango/Crystal open theme(s) ? Some - maybe useful - links: - Linux-looking Themes on Windows XP - Belchfire.net's Themes Gallery - DeviantArt's Windows Visual Styles
  5. That's the reason why open source (expecially for drivers) is better: you can always "do it yourself"... Quite OT, but according to this website "Lexmark Printer X1150/X1140 Driver 2.0.2.2 Win98/ME.--Lexmark X1100 Series All-In-One Driver for Microsoft Windows 98 and ME. This download only includes the printer and scanner software. Contact Lexmark for support information on this file at Technical Support Center." Dunno about HP Deskjet D1460...
  6. Ok, i found an interesting List of Microsoft Windows components, that can help to understand what to substitute...
  7. Why 32 bits ? Check out ffdshow tryouts - xxl's experimental x64 nightly builds !!!
  8. Dunno if someone already submitted, but nero micro won't burn with multiple recorders... My config: Windows XP Sp2+Autopatcher XP Aug 07 on Abit KR7A-RAID/Athlon XP 2000+/512 Mb GeIL Golden Dragon/2 x Hitachi Deskstar 7K80 40 Gb PATA (raid0)/ASUS A9250/Soundblaster Audigy SB1394 Burners: 2 x TEAC CD-W540E on secondary IDE channel
  9. Try these tweaking tools (in this order): 1. 98lite 2. TweakNow PowerPack (unfortunally last version don't support 98 anymore) 3. WinBoost
  10. MediaCoder, of course ! Released under GPL !
  11. Saturday the new InfraRecorder version (0.44) has been relased. Beside this, i discovered a bitter news too: You have been warned ! IR Official website Download page
  12. SF.net project page Official homepage (in Turkish !)
  13. I found this very nice boot screen: Hope that helps !
  14. Why not WPKG instead ? In this way your project could have something *really* different from other updaters...
  15. ...and i found an interesting article: Windows can't be secured, because it lacks package management.
  16. ...for Windows !!! overview Official website SF project page GPLd, of course.
  17. As i already suggested @ DriverPacks.net forums, why don't you consider to build a "simple" (open sourced) driver update manager ?
  18. OK, for those who are interested in, here's the link @ Revolution OS, "a 2001 documentary which traces the history of GNU, Linux, and the open source and free software movements." The interesting fact is the method that Stallman used to create GNU (start form 12:50th minute): "...a large number of separate programs... replace these programs one-by-one...", that substantially is the same - but with some modernization, such as the "opening manager tool" (an hacked package manager) - that i suggested for open sourcing win9x idea.
  19. So, do you still wasting your time/energies for proprietary stuff ? Just a question: WHY ? Change your souls, switch to ReactOS !!!
  20. So you still waste your time following and supporting MS... Just a question: WHY ? Two suggestions: 1. Join ReactOS of course; 2. Keep in consideration my Open sourcing Windows idea...
  21. No, IMHO, it's a good idea ! As I already suggested, it would be great to have a "freedom" patcher that could gradually make Windows 9x open source by simply substituting any component of the system. The advanced idea could be to create a sort-of-package manager that downloads these components and substitutes them.
