  1. I knew I had posted this previously in this thread and without looking to check, I also remember placing this path at the top of the tutorial... The MSI is placed here by Microsofts distributed EXE... "%allusersprofile%\Application Data\WindowsLiveInstaller\Product" shark i also saw the tutorial, but the strange thing is that now in 4 machines (all vista ultimate) this path doesn't exist. i also ran searches for .msi files and i couldn't find anything. i only found some temp files for the windows live installer. maybe the spanish installer behaves different, i don't know. will try it another machine and hopefully later i can get my hands on an xp computer to check that out. happy holidays!
  2. i have searched everywhere in vista in order to get the spanish msi of messenger but i haven't found anything. the location Program Files\Common Files\WindowsLiveInstaller doesnt exist on my two machines. any help? maybe someone already has it. thanks.
  3. DLL Registering Problems. OS: Vista Ultimate x86 i tried Nero Lite 8.2.8.0 in two machines with same configuration and the error occurred in both cases. maybe you have an error in the way you call the dll registrations.
  4. any info on accepted components for the lite version setup? i would like to know the name of each component so i can pass on wave editor and toolkit. thanks in advance.
  5. i've been asking this but no one has answered me: Which COMPONENTS switches are available for this new version? i just want to avoid Wave Editor and the Toolkit but the old components didn't work. It installs the components except Cover Designer. my command line: /verysilent /COMPONENTS="Nero_Core,Nero_Core\Nero_MauSau,Nero_Core\Nero_VideoCD,Nero_CoverDesigner" thanks.
  6. thanks for pointing that out. will try another installation in a couple of days.
  7. read the documentation on that comes with the WAIK to see the exact set of parameters to make/delete partitions.
  8. i think you need to install it in audit phase. search to know how to do it.
  9. you are right. try it in a real installation with a computer that has that particular hardware.
  10. using /createmsi along with the parameters of your choice works great.
  11. if you want to copy files/folders to C (the systemdrive if another letter), mount the install.wim image and add your folder/files there. this way, you save space in your media.
  12. i thought you posted how to slipstream the SP1. i have installed with the updates folder amny times and is helpful but with SP1 or a few updates the install time increases.
  13. have you tried to make an AIP (administrative install point)? this way you can replace the files easily before installing.
  14. as a component, you can't add it or disable it in your xml. you need to use a registry file or something else to disable it. im using a reg file in FirstLogonCommands section to disable before i install my applications. you can use it in Setupcomplete.cmd as well.
  15. thanks acheron. i have asked a few times this but no one answered: which components are available in your installer? i just want to avoid the sound editor.
  16. look at the help file. there is info on how to make an MSI out of the exe file which will install silently. i think the switch is setup.exe /CREATEMSI and has other options as parameter, check the help file.
  17. try searching the registry, maybe you can set it to allow using a reg file.
  18. setting NetworkLocation to Home works fine for me. I have never seen that before. Will try setting other locations.
  19. This is what i found when doing a serach on that error code. Error Code 11 Windows stopped responding while attempting to start this device, and therefore will never attempt to start this device again. (Code 11) Try upgrading the device drivers for this device. Maybe you installing from a bad media or you don't installed the latest drivers for HDD's (RAID, SCSI, etc).
  20. search this forum there some options on how to do this besides using vLite. You need to have all the updates in msu or cab format. If you don't have them, check the already installed updates in windows using the options in Windows Update, copy all the numbers and get them from microsoft.com. Also you can check the Hotfix thread in thie forum and get all available updates from siginet. Im using pkgmgr (included in WAIK) to integrate all updates and is working great.
  21. can anyone post the accepted componenets for setup? thanks.
  22. to understand RunOnceEx read the unattended guide
  23. But Alcohol installation need a reboot pior to its setup because of SPTD driver. I can't remember now if the computer reboots or not after finishing the execution of setupcomplete.cmd. If it doesn't Alcohol won't install in FirstLogonCommands. Will try it.
  24. if you use firefox search for the WMP plugin for it. it works very fine in vista.
  25. i moved them to FirstLogonCommands and it works great. Will try WUSA.exe in Setupcomplete.cmd. thanks. one question, Setupcomplete.cmd reboots the computer or it displays the login right away? im thinkin of installing SPTD in this stage but it is necessary a reboot in order to install alcohol silently in my FirstLogonCommands. thanks.
