  1. i will disable them then. thanks for replying. about all those "helpers" i don't really see any improvements when using programs that load this helpers like Adobe Reader and other...
  2. i encourage you to use the search function. There are some guides on how to build RAR or 7z self-extracting setups. for MSI installer, i use Caphyon Advanced Installer but is not free.
  3. with or without integrating SP1 first? thanks. I'm using a SP1 integrated ISO from MS. well, i thought you were integrating SP1. With SP1 media there won't be any problem at all...just replacing the dll inside wim image will do the trick as with original vista installation media. thanks for replying.
  4. can anyone enlighten me here? i asked before if someone can get into trouble if i disable iTunesHelper.exe and iPodService.exe to prevent them from starting up with windows. thanks.
  5. with or without integrating SP1 first? thanks.
  6. i think we can just overwirte those files in the mounted image. the problem could be that the setup may overwrite those files when installing SP1 manually.
  7. what a pain in the a**. shame on Microsoft for not taking proper steps on integrating or slipstreaming the service pack. maybe i will try the method mentioned at winbeta.
  8. thanks for taking the time to make those installers.
  9. i don't know if im able to post this here, if not, mods please delete it. here are some updated servers several times a day. i do my silent install using a custom installer and i included this in order to select them in the servers tab. In my installer i use all the settings so the server addresses are there, i just have to select them. http://ed2k.2x4u.de/index.html
  10. how come you don't want it? i remember i installed the normal setup using /Silent and it didn't install the toolbar.
  11. how did you integrate it? using WSIM and pkgmgr? have you done a manual install to see if everything is working? also, try the new WAIK. MS just update it yesterday to support SP1.
  12. you are right. sadly there won't be slipstreaming ability on SP1. i just hope they release refreshed images as soon as they send it via Windows Update.
  13. thanks. i just download it.
  14. you can try FirstLogonCommands to install programs. This is the method im using with any problem.
  15. for this particular drivers, you need to install either KB835221 or KB888111 (both are for HD Audio Bus, and are needed for windows to detect your audio chip) depending on your motherboard implementation. try intalling it manually and see if any of this updates are installed along with the driver (chances are high). then grab the one that is being intalled by the setup and install it via winnt.sif in the GuiUnattended section like this: [GuiUnattended] DetachedProgram="%systemdrive%\Drivers\KB835221.EXE" -> this is for a limited number of motherboards. Arguments="/Q /O /Z" then, use the drivers in the OemPnPDriversPath section of winnt.sif. if you are unsure how to do this, read the unattended guide for directions.
  16. you need to use a timer file because in real time, the taskill occurs but way too fast before the program's process finishes to open. search for sleep.exe in this forum. i and other people used this approach before.
  17. dvd shrink: setup.exe /S nlite.exe /silent read the unattended guide to learn about the type of common installer and their switches. search the forum, there are many topics that cover those programs.
  18. i didn't see the new version number in the repository, but nevermind. i will grab it when it is available again. thanks.
  19. i want to disable iTunesHelper.exe to prevent its startup but i don't know if this will interfere with the normal operation of iPod's/iPhones... it is safe to disable it? i don't use iTunes so i can't test it right now to see if there is a problem if a disable it. any feedback? thanks.
  20. Elajua stop bumping this thread. I know the switch for Wise installer. i didn't meant to. i just stated the people can use a silent switch if they want to. Besides, not everyone knows about silent switches. We have to wait until shark007 makes an updated installer for the new version.
  21. use /S while Shark007 does his thing...
  22. you can always install it with /S
  23. i already sent you a PM. thanks.
  24. I can't start making test with WinPE because i can't create the folder structure. I open PE Tools Command Prompt (im and admin so i don't need to explicitly open it elevated, nevertheless i also tried with Run as ad admin). The script start but fails after a few seconds. i got xopy is not recognize as an internal or external command and a message "Failed to create working directory". my syntax is this: copype x86 E:\WinPE i also tried copype.cmd x86 E:\WinPE Im running this on Windows Vista. Any help? thanks.
