  1. if you use CCleaner as a lot people sure do, you can download the slim and potable releases of the latest version 2.01.507 . they are available at the download page its great that they made a portable version. this way i can make a custom installer right away.
  2. i don't use it so i cant search the key for you. some programs hide their key numbers or user info in dlls inside the program's folder. i remember i discovered that when trying to register a program in a friend's computer but i don't recall the name. try opening some dll's (if there are, that is) with notepad to see if they have something. you can also look in the registry for the program name, the key number, the company that makes the program and so on.
  3. i install it at the end of my RunOnceEx file and its been working for a long time.
  4. Media Control Configuration? what is that? please be more specific so people can help you out.
  5. thanks for the info.
  6. is not like that...just take the time to run searches on the forum and also read the unattended guide, wich is by all means, the first thing you need to understand before attempting other things like autoit or wpi... this way you can get a hands on experience. after that, you can try to do some things with autoit or other installer like Mars or WPI. i personally prefer the ua guide and using my custom installer but its everyone's taste. good luck!
  7. i use a custom installer of my own. i just took the file in programfiles\ultraiso and use the registry entries to configure it. as i don't like the menu extension i didn't register them.
  8. this is something im interested in but i haven't had the time to try to install it silently. will look into it in a few days. if you come up with something please post.
  9. DELETE ME sorry, my browser did a double-post.
  10. first of all you need to know what kind of installer are they using (most games use Windows Installer). If this is the case, you can make an MST file to specify serial number and other setup options. Search for a program called Wise Install Tailor, its free and makes MST files. Point it to the .msi file wich install those games and see if it can generate a MST file. If you are able to make it, use it like this: setup.msi TRANSFORMS=yourmstfile.mst /qb /norestart hope this helps.
  11. maybe be related to the flv codec you have. are you using some codec pack? try uninstalling it. also you can check eltima software, they have a progam for viewing flv thumbnails in explorer (a codec splitter maybe)
  12. this useful indeed. but i will investigate how to import without having set a password. thanks for the heads-up.
  13. glad you got it working. i've installing this unattended for a very long time.
  14. i didn't experience that in my tests but thanks for posting that out. im making the registry readings before i move on so i would look into your problem when i get there. thanks for the feedback.
  15. lol that older was driving me nuts from quite sometime, thanks for the update and the feedback on that folder.
  16. glad your brother's comp is running smoothly. im currently testing the initial readings for all tweaks and implementing some functions for it. the only help i need is to find more tweaks for vista since many of the ones i had with xp don't work. i got the tweaks collection from this forum but many of them are for xp only. nevertheless im researching my self to find more.
  17. i'm not sure but i think i deleted that file long ago in another installation of vista and began to have some problems. not sure but as i don't know what is that file for i would leave it alone.
  18. many of them don't install even if i save them to my hdd first. i think its because of bad coding from the authors or something.
  19. hi please do a search on those topics. they have been answered already.
  20. some gadgets in the live gallery didn't worked for me either. some seem to install fine but there are no entries for them in the gadgets list. maybe its gadget developer's fault or something.
  21. i know, i have been testing some things and realize that i better finish the reading code before moving on. you are right about catching up... thanks for the advice.
  22. How about checking displaying the current state of the tweaks when the program started. For example, if UAC is already disabled when VistaTweaker open up it would show the Disable UAC box already has a check mark in the box. i'm working on vistatweaker right now, but im afraid a full read of all the tweaks will have to wait a little longer. currently i think is more important to offer all sorts of tweaks, but at the same time i'm making some changes to incorporate the startup readings. thanks for your feedback.
  23. have you found the reason? can you post it? some friends are using WLOC and i would like to know if you know why it prompted you. thanks for the feedback.
  24. have you tried another program like 7-zip or winzip? you're the first person i heard about that has a problem with the rar file.
  25. ok, i see. don't worry, there is nothing inside my program that tries to connect to the internet. at launch vistatweaker does some readings in the registry, that's normal. maybe WLOC shows you a prompt when open it from inside RAR file because when you open a file from inside an archive it decompresses it to temp folder then launch it. maybe due to this that you get a prompt from WLOC. the strange thing is that it should inform you what kind of thing the program is doing (connecting, modifying, reading the registry, etc). if you are still weary about this, try it on another computer with other firewall/antivirus.
