  1. Most likely you have a router, cable/DSL modem that is acting as a firewall, you must disable the firewall throu the seetings or the ip address designated to one of these particular pieces of hardware. Goodluck -Drew
  2. A little bit more info... the site will most likly be a very basic one, not too many grafix and what not but i dont want to ability to have a high volume of trafic. Im most likely going to get DSL or a low grade cable. Im going to be using Xp server, but im looking for instructions from strart to end. I have only hosted a site on geocites (and other freebies) and have no idea whatkinds of things i need to purchase on the net, such as, domain, routing, dns etc.More or less im wondering what companys to go with an what application should i run. The Pc will be holding all the data of the page and will be dirctly connected to the Cable/DSL. Any sugesstions? -Drew
  3. Im planing on seting up and hosting a website from my home. I was wondering how i should go about doing it. I plan to use Winxp server, but what other software,harware,etc do i need to go about this. Instructions would be nice aswell! Thankx -Drew
  4. Try this....... Leftclick on desktop>Properties>ScreenSaver>Power>APM>Tick the "Enable Advanced power management support" Restart and you should be good to go! -Drew

  7. [b:d9dda45d9e]bjorland-[/b:d9dda45d9e] I ran into the same problem, but i figured out how to make it work. The problem happenes becasue of the burning app built into XP. To make it work first goto run. type msconfig.Goto "Services" and uncheck Imapi cd burning. Then goto "my computer" find the CD-RW drive, right click on it select properties>Recording and then untick "enable recording" Restart and you can drag and drop till the cows come home! -Drew

  10. Try to modify the vie props. in the particular folder that the movies are held. Do this by Left clicking in the folder selecting View>Deltails(or anything besides Thumnail. This might help...but im not sure if it will help with in WMP. -Drew
  11. I think BootVis will do the trick quit nicely and simply http://download.microsoft.com/download/whi...ootVis-tool.exe run a trace with drives two times, choose the second file made, then optimize your startup -Drew
  12. Try login in as the Admin, do this by login out and at the login screen press Ctrl+Alt+Del then type "Administrator" (SPELLING) and you password. Then go about getting rid of the files you wanted to. -drew
  13. [b:ff85b2c9d5]MSNwar-[/b:ff85b2c9d5] Partition Magic can cause way too many problems then the program is worth, they say its Xp compatiable, but it messes with Xp. If i were you i would back up your data, and fdisk the both hard drive, put the primary dos on the master and the extended with a logical on the slave...this should solve your problem. -drew
  14. Try this... Pop in your Win98 Startup disk, boot without cd support, and type "fdisk". In fdisk delete your primary partition, and then make a new one. Reset, and using the Win98 startup disk format the C: drive. The just re-Install WINXp. goodluck -drew
  15. Yea, had similar problems with the program. I think a typing class or program, maybe "typeing of the dead" would be way more benificial if you want to get essays done quicker. -drew

  17. System Restore has worked flawlessly for me! Its fast and easy, i personaly think its alot better they GoBack and anyother restore tool out there. One quick tip, evey so often diable it pn all drives restart and enable again, this will delete you old restore points, they can get quite big and i have noticed they have the tendincy to bog your system. -Drew
  18. A long while back i got a riped version of this, the only problem it that you need a really good quailty hadset unit. So it wasent really worth the download to me, If i wanted to spend money then i would of purchased then retail. But if you got a head set of dont mind spending 50 bucks go for it. -Drew

After installing Kazaa, i noticed this little thing in the upper left, just peeking out, confused, i put my mouse by it. oddley enuf, when i slid it over it it turned my mouse into a hand thing. i then grabbed it and moved it around. look at the attachment! just fiddling around to try to get it to disapper, i put an icon right by it and it went away....Strange s***! anyone seen this befor? -drew
  21. What is the point of the hacked UxTheme.dll file? does it just give you the ability to see the theme look under Disply prop>apperence..? or what? ...by the way whats the best version to use, im using the beta version 4.31...should i change? -drew
