probs when browsing this site since changed outlay
trickytwista replied to trickytwista's topic in Windows XP
ok i found the problem, i did a format and came back to msfn site and there was no long delay when accessing forums.... however as i do alot of selling on ebay i use the ebay toolbar...so i installed it and since installing it whenever i visit msfn forums i get that long delay again... as a test i uninstalled ebay toolbar and this site was ok again with no delays at all.... strange, any idea why the toolbar would cause this? its only this website that i actually get the problems with so i cant understand why......thanks guys -
[Help] - default xp pro login password after 42days expired?
trickytwista replied to trickytwista's topic in Windows XP
someone must have an idea guys? been trying to find info on this issue and i get more results than a little but its always something about password encryption or stuff like netword passwords n crazy stuff that has nothing to do with what info i need.. lol..... -
hi guys, my mother got my old pc with xp pro on it, it has 2 account on it .. me as admin and my mother as a limited user account (as she dont really know what shes doing and thought be safer 4 her to be a non admin)... ok here we go... she switched it on other night and clicked her name to log herself in and it kept asking 4 a password and as a password was never set for her account she obviously doesnt know what the heck is going on, and now shw cant log into her account at all... so im presuming her account expired after the 42 days....so is their a default password if one was never created in the 1st place after the 42days expired? she can login to my account as the admin as i gave her the password but i think its best to get her account back.... i would go round and see whats going on but i cant has she lives over 300 miles away and she needs pc access for msn etc.........thanks guys Title Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on. --Zxian

hi guys..unsure whats causing this...about a month ago or so i noticed outlay of this website changed alittle...ever since the change around when ever i go to browse topics theres a massive delay for the page to load (it also uses 100% cpu at the time) this only happens on this website so i no clue why and it only happens since the layout or whatever changed...also when i get fed up of waiting because of the delay if i goto close this website i get my a** kicked by about 60 website popups (this is when i goto task manager and force crappy Internet explorer to close.........any one else having same prob since the update or whatever it was?????? hope this makes sense to someone.....and no comments about "get rid of IE" allowed.........lol.......thanks guys oh ps.s o dont get the delay when actually goto msfn main page ..only when goto browse topics or latest posts.......cheers....... just been watching and when delay is happening i see on bottom left above start button that it says "c:\windows\system32\schlc...\dnserror.htm...... whatever that means...hope this helps
-
yep that would make sense

hi guys..its a catalog file issue which should be fixed at some time...i recommend doing this....works for me and many others...........1. Stop the crypto service and rename the “CatRoot2” folder inside C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32. 2. Rename “CatRoot2” folder to “CatRoot2.bak” 3. Reboot (or use Unlocker to unlock the files inside this folder by killing the svchost.exe process from inside Unlocker) 4. Delete “CatRoot2.bak” folder 5. Deleted everything inside “CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}” except timestamp and SP2.CAT (if you don’t leave SP2.CAT updates won’t even download) 6. Deleted everything inside “CatRoot\{127D0A1D-4EF2-11D1-8608-00C04FC295EE}” except timestamp 7. Start the Cryptography service (or do a “net start cryptsvc”) 8. Updates should work fine now.
