  1. maybe since you dropped it, it maybe has damaged the drive... what brand is it? also can you get the brands website up and download drive fitness tester?

  3. basically means you make a cd that will require no user input during install
  4. hey why not just disable error reporting? entirely upto you but it isnt actually needed so its safe to disable, First of all dwwin.exe is Dr Watson which is used by the error reporting tool. Alot of security related applications will throw up warning flags about this file trying to read, write or modify a number of other .exe files. This isn't anything to worry about because it's only trying to investigate "events" that it believes is causing problems that may lead to crashing. File can be found: *:windowssystem32dwwin.exe The biggest complaint about the error reporting service is it causing alot of various applications to not load or crash during use. Quite a few of these can be fixed by downloading updates from windows update and scanning for viruses/spyware but alot of others simply won't be fixed with the currently available updates. In that case you'll want to just disable the service! After that 90% of the time the program will then run properly. If you've found this article through a search engine you'll want to disable it now.
  5. ya it does sound like an overheating issue, also check that in the bios that the pc is not set to shutdown if cpu is quite hot (check temperature and what its set at) and like someone else said above : check that the fan is seated correctly as this would cause same issue...... you prob could also see what cpu temp is at etc in bios too

  15. http://www.ewido.net/en/ you have to buy it now if you want to use it as a realtime scanner, however you can still use it and download latest definations after trial has expired for free This setup contains the free as well as the plus-version of the ewido security suite. After the installation, a free 14-day test version containing all the extensions of the plus-version will be activated. At the end of the test phase, the extensions of the plus version are deactivated and the freeware version can be used unlimited times.

  20. hi guys, recently going through a pile of laptop hard drives, on some when "smart" is enabled in the bios i get an arror message on boot up... message says "hdd bad, backup and replace, press F1 to continue"... however when i press f1 and continue the drive lets me fdisk it and scan it for bad sectors but theres no bad sectors on it.. anyone any idea of what causes this? or maybe a possible idea how to fix it?... BTW if i disable "smart" in bios setup i obviosly dont get this message and the drive is usable without interruptions... also on some other drives i get a message immediately saying "primary master disk drive error, press f1 to resume"... any thought or ideas are welcomed, thanks guys twista
