hi, at present i dont have access to my main tower as its in for repair so i tried installing it on a laptop which only has 384mb ram.

hi guys just wondering if theres anyway to install vista on 384mb ram? as i tried installing it and an error came up saying 512mb at least was needed and i wasnt able to continue..any help be appreciated..thanks

considering that CRT monitors cost next to nothing these days it would be cheap to replace anyway. may be a shot in the dark but its possible that the driver is corrupt. have you tried uninstalling the monitor and then letting windows reinstall?

yep i agree, put it close to the fan

yep the screeching noise and the "operating system not found" gives it away, definately a faulty hard drive. run tests on it and if broken simply replace it.

yea i agree, known as pressure marks and is also common with laptops that have keyboard keys sticking up and when lid is down they can cause the pressure marks too. as punto stated though it seems that someone put too much pressure on screen.
