No, you don't. DXVA2 is natively supported, You can combine it with CUDA, of course. H264 plays fine with DXVA2 up to 1080p. For H264 2160p or H265 8 bit you need to add CUDA to the mix*. *If your CPU is weak.

These temps are related to the B1 revision of your card. I had two GTX780 with A1 and B1 revisions. A1 was cool and silent. B1 was hotter and noisier. Also, it had a tendency to crash with newer drivers after 347.26. That's why I know the problem, You can try to replace your cooling solution or apply MX4.
