  1. lol, took a minute or so to realize what "PH" stood for. Hilarity Ensues.
  2. https://media.tenor.com/o39EarauyJYAAAAC/palm-face.gif
  3. I'd REMOVE those registry entries despite "coming with" 98 and ME. I'd REMOVE any and all Java registry entries - whether they "came with" 98 or ME or not. I'd REMOVE any and all Java folders - whether they "came with" 98 or ME or not.
  4. You could also try this -- https://www.java.com/en/download/uninstalltool.jsp I've never tried it - but I've also never had such an issue as you setup is having.
  5. Maybe even go so far as go into Control Panel -> Network Connections or even Device Manager and totally DISABLE your network/internet BEFORE executing the installer. Aside from that, you'll have to delete any and all folders, any and all registry entries, any and all system folder install cache, et cetera.
  6. Yes, pull the telephone wire out of the socket BEFORE executing the installer. Before, before, before. It worked on FIVE of my computers and three different VM's. Are you POSITIVE that THIS is the installer you are trying?
  7. UNPLUG your internet connection BEFORE executing the installer. That's all I did and it installed perfectly fine -- on five different machines just for the sake of testing for you. Next would be awkduck's suggestion - delete ANY and ALL folders that have anything to do with Java, delete ANY and ALL registry entries that have anything to do with Java. REBOOT. Then UNPLUG your internet connection and execute the installer provided a couple weeks ago. Good luck
  8. MSFN is now being hit with "ring tone" spam. Only one that I have seen thus far.
  9. Look at it this way, you are a member of another forum that does NOT allow new members to post LINKS. MSFN does not restrict new members from posting LINKS. At the start of the year, MSFN was hit MASSIVELY by NEW MEMBERS posting LINKS for cryptocurrency BS.
  10. Admins/moderators have already DELETED THEM and have already FIXED the forum from getting future BS. We had a "software update" early January or so largely in part to keep this BS from POLLUTING our neighborhood. I witnessed a good dozen or so of these BS cryptocurrency NUISANCES and our awesome admin/moderator teams was very quick to remove them. The ones that I witnessed seemed to always occur between the hours of 3am and 7am Eastern Standard Time. (between 9am and 1pm Central Europan Time [France])
  11. Interesting. I'm always at full screen. I once read a post somewhere long LONG ago that NOT being full screen makes you stand out like a sore thumb as far as being "fingerprinted". The theory being that if you run full screen at a resolution used by BILLIONS of computer users, then you "blend in" with the BILLION. I don't know if that is technically true or not. But with a computer with 3 monitors here at work and 5 monitors at home, I really NEVER have a need to NOT be full screen. But as I write this, I may be mixing "full screen" with "maximized".
  12. I'm positive that you HAVE if you log in often enough and at the correct times of day. The admins/moderators are VERY FAST to DELETE/REMOVE the cryptocurrencty BS so you haven't seen them because the admins/moderators are VERY FAST.
  13. You may have to consider that "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few". MSFN has been hit HARD with cryptocurrency spam BS. It is entirely possible (though admins would need to chime in to verify) that what you call a "bug" is NOT a bug but the best method available to keep the BS spam off of MSFN. I would rather have a spam-free MSFN and "hinder" a few rule-following Russian users then revert to a non-hindering setup plagued with cryptocurrency BS.
  14. GDIChromium does not work on XP. I use it in my Win10 installs. It is available here, it is only the "ungoogling" of it that I probably cannot "share" -- https://github.com/GTANAdam/GDIChromium/releases
  15. I use GDIChromium for the most part. I've "ungoogled" it but I suspect it would be a violation of "terms of agreement" if I posted as a download. I actually think we "violated" terms of agreement with 360Chrome - but "upstream" never 'found us'.
  16. No real need to worry about it, if you ask me. It would be one thing if we were talking a 30 Mbps difference when one is 10 and the other is 40. But 230 versus 260, hardly anything to lose sleep over. I certainly hope you're not comparing XP to Win10 and expecting identical speed test results.
  17. Ouch, the font-family for current FPS gives me a headache. Is that a 50 or a 60? Couldn't find the .css to change the font.
  18. This is one of my biggest "pet peeves" - videos with no video but these STUPID "white fuzz lines" trying to mock analog camera equipment from the twenties ???
  19. But wouldn't that apply to most of the Firefox Forks here at MSFN? I thought that Serpent 52 was "better" then Serpent 55?
  20. The vital key is this line -- "After following the mitigation guide, this software is Not Spyware." Which is technically the case for ALL WEB BROWSERS. Us here at MSFN "know better", but for the most part a web browser user simply uses "default settings" (for the most part).
  21. Run it 10 times in 360Chrome. Then run it 10 times in Firefox. They average identical speeds for me.
  22. Just played only 1,000 frames of each. ZERO dropped frames. Not my music style so unable to play 2hrs 52min and 3hr 24min just to see how many frames drop.
  23. I would not classify this as decisive. It could be something as simple as "Installer Version A" looks for an update (via internet) and decides for itself to NOT install "Version A" but fetches "Version B" instead. DISABLE your internet connection before doing ANY install. Good Rule of Thumb because MOST installers "phone home" in some sort of way.
