The X-Chromium loader works perfectly fine. You have to use the .ini correctly and adhere to folder/file structure. Then there are no registry writes and there are no permanent files stored in Local Settings. I did not try the 360Chrome loader as I've always used X-Chromium for all forks other than 360Chrome and only use the 360Chrome loader for 360Chrome. Both require knowledge of their respective .ini files.

I haven't tried it but go for it. The "X-Chromium" loader should work also. Until Supermium is "ungoogled", I don't plan on ever doing anything with it. Making a "non-portable" a "portable" is extremely easy (as far as the Registry Writes and the User Data folder that it places in Local Settings\Temp\Supermium). Cookies tied to a hardware ID is also some folk's definition of "portable", this one never concerns me so I'll leave that for others to decide for themselves.

Personally, I never run "installers". In this case, you only need to use 7-ZIP (and extract TWICE). The FIRST extraction will give you the progwrp.dll file, MANUALLY place that in the Windows\system32 folder. The SECOND extraction will give you the Supermium files (that will not run unless you performed the MANUAL first extraction and MANUALLY placed the .dll into your system32 folder). I only tried the 32bit just to see if it does "work" (it does!) WITHOUT the need of running an "installer".

Yes.

Work did "catch me" using 360Chrome on my lab benches and "slapped my hand" with an IT Warning. So technically I no longer use 360Chrome during office hours. IT didn't like build 2044! I did not track down if it was something about build 2044 that put me on their radar. Build 2044 was very early in its infancy when IT slapped my hand for using it at work. Personally, I have never never NEVER trusted "newer" versions of 360Chrome - while some v86 "engine" compiling is possible (but unproven!) with "newer" UPSTREAM builds, what IS IS IS provable is the ADDED telemetry with every new UPSTREAM build that we just REMOVE here at MSFN anyway.

Humming Owl abandoned his a very very long time ago. He even has a post here somewhere stating that he will no longer be updating any of his modified browsers. He did use public archive sites so despite the project being "abandonware", the downloads are still available. I have abandoned all EXCEPT the Redux release. Despite being on Win10 nowadays, I still use my own Redux release the vast majority of the time (with Official Ungoogled Chromium v114 the remainder of the time). I actually PREFER 360Chrome to Ungoogled Chromium v114 even though 360Chrome is SLOWER. I prefer the drag-and-drop auto-maximize, I prefer the ease of customizing the GUI, I prefer the ease of customizing context menus, the list is endless. And perhaps at the VERY TOP of that list, 360Chrome has a TITLE BAR! I really really hate hate HATE how Chrome abandoned a real TITLE BAR! It's not quite to the point of triggering a migraine or a seizure of some sort, but I NEED TITLE BARS!

NOT RECOMMENDED! One has to be realistic with their expectations when running "Older NT-Family OSes".

Cool! I have seen dozens of YouTube videos that show "my" 360Chrome but do not give credit to the MSFN Forums where it was found, at least that one kept the MSFN file name! "Mine" is EXTREMELY easy to spot! Because despite some (mainly Vista users) not liking the "blue" theme, my release is the only version of 360Chrome with XP Title Bars. But they are "embedded", 360Chrome does not use the Operating System's "title bars" [nor does "real" Chrome!] That version appears to be very close to the latest as far as the .2036 branch (I no longer use .2036 and use .1030). The timestamp for chrome.dll is more important than the timestamp for 360chrome.exe - I think "beta3" was/is five days older than the non-beta. iframe.srx was also updated between "beta3" and the 4/15/2023 version.

It's most likely not your brain or your eyes, it's your TV. Until only about six or seven years ago, I was only running a 27" Sony Trinitron TUBE TV that 'could' be carried by two people but took THREE people my size to carry! The bedroom was a 19" "flatscreen" but was still a TUBE TV, not what we think of when we say "flatscreen" nowadays. (it didn't have a "bowl-shape curved screen, it had a "flat" screen, but was still a *TUBE*) Six or seven years ago I ditched the 27" and the 19" televisions and picked up two 32" true flatscreens that any 8yr old can carry. My hookups were RCA CABLES (the red, yellow, white pair of three push-in connectors). 27" to 32" might not sound like that big of a difference, but the picture difference was GIGANTIC - even on RCA CABLES. I didn't think anything of it, the picture color and crispness was OUT OF THIS WORLD compared to those old TUBE TVs. I was in Entertainment Heaven. One weekend, my brother connects his laptop's HDMI cable between my new 32" TV and my cable tv box. I was watching a baseball game at the time, I could *SEE* the catcher's EYES snap closed for a split second when the ball hit his glove. Ain't NEVER seen that with any set of RCA CABLES.

I thought "rated R" and ""PG" and "G" and "NC-17" and "PG-13" was only a USA rating? I didn't think ratings were "internationalized" ???

To each their own, of course, but I see the world differently, my brain is wired differently, but that wiring works for me "so be it", lol. Just as everyone else's "wiring" should work for them! Sure, I loved cartoons when I was a kid, but as an adult I hate hate HATE "cartoons". To the point of BOYCOTTING things like The Simpsons, The Critic, F is for Family, American Dad, King of the Hill, Bob's Burgers, Archer, Rick and Morty, Beavis and Butt-Head, Futurama, Family Guy, South Park. And I had to google-search just to list some of them. HATE HATE HATE! Not a strong enough word! I throw Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry into the same category, I cannot even bring myself to watch Charlie Brown Christmas Specials or seasonal cartoons like How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I do not know WHAT or WHY, but cartoons of ANY kind make me feel like I am "regressing" and I try to always look towards the future and not the past. But like I said, my brain is wired differently. But that wiring "works for me" and I would have it no other way.

That's not the latest, the latest has a 360chrome.exe dated 10/28/2023 which if I'm following date format correctly (other country date formats "confuse me") would be 28.10.2023 since no country has 15 months in a year so that first number has to be the day.

Ah, right you are. I like to watch movies but I seldom memorize anything about them, including actors/actresses. Movies exist as a form of entertainment and to "waste time". I allocate "memory" for job-related functions, not for movies, actors, actresses.

May just be a slight bit of ADHD setting in (they called it ADD when I was a kid, loved it because math was my favorite subject), but I had to stop watching as soon as I saw it was going to take 23 minutes. Which usually just means I'll watch it at some time I know at the start that I have 23 minutes to kill. I'm thinking they had similar "commentary" regarding one of the lawyers in Boston Legal ???

I watched Wednesday, loved it! Looking forward to Season 2! Christina Ricci is 43 years old, if she can play the role of a teenager, then I don't mind watching a "teenage comedy"

Never heard of it! I technically don't watch "TV". I have a few paid subscription streaming services and the Roku has hundreds of free apps. I stopped paying for TV when rampant "reverse prejudice" and blatant "agenda pushing" became mainstream in *ALL* commercials. May just be my portion of the US, but yeah, it CHURNS MY STOMACH that *ALL* dentist commercials use FEMALE ACTRESSES to portray the "dentist" - REVERSE PREJUDICE, as if my SON isn't allowed to become a dentist. NOTHING against female dentists !!! But if (making up a number) 50% of dentists in the industry are female, then why are 100% of them females in tv commercials? Sorry, it's just little things like that that literally CHURNS MY STOMACH. And why do tv commercials always always ALWAYS have to portray an LBGTQ "couple"? </end rant>

I'm basically the same way. But that is what growing up is supposed to be like, in my opinion. If you do the same "social scene" in your 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s that you did when you were in your 20s, then you "stopped growing" in your 20s. To each their own, of course. I do know a lot of people that "party" like they were still 20 and those people will never retire and have any form of "golden years". I've been told I have aspergers, decades ago when that's what they called it, so be it, look up the famous people that have had it, I'll take their company any day. No brain scan verification, just "social cues" and people in the field say I should get the brain scan. I *refuse to*. Social cues aside, I am "high functioning" and do quite well for myself. So call me anything you want, if you feel you have to put a label on everything, including the label maker, just don't call me late for dinner - 'cause I never turn down a free meal. What was the question again? Oooh, look, a squirrel! -

How much will you pay me if I can find a list of TEN cities where their temperature DECREASED for 2009 versus 2023? Again, I'm not a denier. But this IS a topic where EVERYBODY throws out "half truths" and "statistical bias" to present "their side". This most certainly is NOT a topic that MSFN is going to solve. -

I did not choose to ignore, btw, I'm not going to be baited into political discussions that have no merit and are forbidden at MSFN. Heck, as far as that goes, this topic itself probably toes that line as close as you can get but it is General Stuff -> General Discussion and we don't need the forum to be 100% about web browsers and Start Menu apps and graphics cards. -

You lost me. Does not the link above (this page, not previous page) fully indicate a case to be made for Global Warming? My neutrality is that Global Warming is *NOT* caused be ENGINE HEAT, it's caused by EMISSIONS not "heat transfer".
