If you feel downgrading would solve almost everything you encounter, then go ahead. No one is stopping you from doing so. It's your choice.
Plus, I think the problem about being AFK for a long time and the computer shuts down automatically can be solved if you have the power options set like this:

Although, I have just found a thread about it in the microsoft community. They have a lot of fixes, and some of them worked for some users there. I'm sure it will work for you too, @Mathwiz. Good luck on trying the solutions in that thread.
