Thank you ... I'm going to examine those ciphers and disable anything below tls1.0, but I wonder *what* would be using them on my system. I don't use IE (yes, I know its still woven into the explorer) and I've don't want mysterious things connecting as I've sttripped this down to almost noting related to ms now ... or at least I though so before this. I'm approaching this from another angel, I'm hoping my system will not be able to connet to anything. Hope that made sense.

Thank again: Same here and all are empty undefined keys execpt for: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Ciphers\RC4 128/128 (disabled) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Ciphers\Triple DES 168/168 (disabled) Otherwise they are at defaults .. so good to know this as I wasn't aware until you mentioned it.

Hmmm ... I followed that link and am looking on the right at my configuration and I don't even have SSL at all. But, I am now wondering what is running that shouldn't be, so thank you for the link and I will do more research. Hahaha ... just when I thought I removed all the telemetry from my system; yet another surprise. Actually, nothing surprises me anymore with m$

So, again, thank you for your tips. I promised I'd test using the following flags recomended in the linux-lite thread by @Sampei I don't know how to test or bench the browser so I just go by what I see. I'm finding using: Block scripts loaded via document.write #disallow-doc-written-script-loads .<--Set to Enabled from its default Undefined I've noticed faster page loading and scrolling *seems* less laggy. However, using: Strict site isolation #enable-site-per-process It slowed performance, unfortunately. EDIT:

I see .. Oh well was worth a shot. Likely will just default them back then other than what you've above. Mainly looking for two things - video playback that isn't choppy and the vanishing text issue. Other than that, I've been having good luck \wit this. V12 is just ok, but would be the next step if needed. V13 is fine and looks beautiful compare to V11, but I have to stop everything in the background and 13.5 as well. See, others here are needing features and to shop online - I don't. No virtual reality and if I want reality, I just need to step outside and its smacks me in the face. Everyone nowadays. I not fearful of google as I use their search and youtube, but, don't need to upload credit cards or auto fill this or that. No touch-pad or and no need for wasm or webgl. Running on slow hardware so working with what I've got. Thank you for testing and this is such a learning experience for me from FF all these years. Take good care.

That is awesome! I plan to set some security relate flags (including those 3 and others) myself over the next few days, but I'm still learning and trying to find balance between security / privacy and speed. Its too bad, but FF is becoming less-and-less usable in the new age. Thank you and hope all is well

I understand. I wanted to do it, actually. If you have time, let me know what you also have as above set to ... meaning, what you also use apart from its default. If you have time and want to, that is. Am going to test: Security Related Enable GPU AppContainer Lockdown. Enables the use of an AppContainer for the GPU sandboxed processes to improve security. – Windows #enable-gpu-appcontainer Enable AppContainer Lockdown. Enables the use of an AppContainer on sandboxed processes to improve security. – Windows #enable-appcontainer Will report any issues with V11. So far; so good and its much faster now and I feel I've removed a lot things I won't ever use. Told ya I was all into this now and (your) V11 is my default browser. I'm sort of in between on "Security" and the balance and I don't seek to make things slower for the sake of. Question answered by @Sampei.Nihira

Ok ... I did this myself today the long way and I've been spending time for the last 4 hours online with the following flags set to: Misc #disable-direct-write <--Set to Disabled from its default Enabled #disable-accelerated-2d-canvas <--Set to Disabled from its default Enabled #enable-offline-auto-reload <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #in-product-help-demo-mode-choice <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #reduced-referrer-granularity <--Set to Enabled from its default Disalbed #enable-new-app-menu-icon <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #top-sites-from-site-engagement <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-emoji-context-menu <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-experimental-productivity-features <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #site-characteristics-database <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Memory and Prefetch #automatic-tab-discarding <--Set to Enabled from its default Undefined #enable-nostate-prefetch <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined WASM #enable-asm-webassembly <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-webassembly <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-webassembly-streaming <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-webassembly-baseline <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-webassembly-threads <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Touch #touch-events <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #disable-touch-adjustment <--Set to Disabled from its default Enabled (wen't back to its default "Enabled") #touchpad-overscroll-history-navigation <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-touch-drag-drop <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Hardware Acceleration #disable-accelerated-video-decode <--Set to Disabled from its default Enabled #disable-cast-streaming-hw-encoding <--Set to Disabled from its default Enabled Service Worker #enable-service-worker-script-full-code-cache <-- Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-pwa-full-code-cache <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #service-worker-payment-apps <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #just-in-time-service-worker-payment-app <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-speculative-service-worker-start-on-query-input <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Device Discovery #device-discovery-notifications <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Video #enable-new-remote-playback-pipeline <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Optimization Hints #enable-optimization-hints <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined App Banners #enable-app-banners <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-experimental-app-banners <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Gamepad #enable-gamepad-extensions <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-gamepad-vibration <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #webxr-gamepad-support <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) devices #webxr <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #webxr-gamepad-support <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #webxr-orientation-sensor-device <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #openvr <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Cache #save-previous-document-resources-until <--Set to "Don't explicitly save resources" from its default Undefined Cache Autofill Query Responses When enabled, autofill will cache the responses it receives from the crowd-sourced field type prediction server. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, Android #autofill-cache-query-responses <--- Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Third-party parser-blocking scripts #disallow-doc-written-script-loads <--Set to Enabled from its default Undefined Video #disable-cast-streaming-hw-encoding <--Set to Disabled from its default Enabled #enable-new-remote-playback-pipeline <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Sensor #enable-generic-sensor <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined #enable-generic-sensor-extra-classes <--Set to Disabled from its default Undefined Honestly, I'm uncertain when a flag is set to default with no preference to disabled/enabled (undefined), but since I don't know, I opted to use my common sense and judgement (guess) and enable or disable according to general research online. Thus far, the text has not vanished so please feel free to try out what I am using, but just keep in mind, I'm pretty basic and this is just a desktop with mouse and keyboard and I'm looking for a basic experience. I realize not everyone would want to disable everything and some might very well use some of those features, but I simply don't and wouldn't. I will say, without question, that I've been watching Please correct me if something doesn't look right. EDIT: And I'm only testing this for V11.

To tell you the trust, I thought this would be a nice thread, but it turned toxic very quickly and not AT ALL what was intended. If I were walking by looking in the window of this café; trust you me, I'd keep walking seeing these conversations taking place inside. But what do I know, not closing my eyes or pretending, but, I don't seek out such - online or in real life ... at least not for enjoyment purpose. So that being said: I'll exit the café for good with all the best wishes to everyone and certainly understand should be closed. Be well.

I'v disabled: #site-characteristics-database - Records usage of some features in a database while a tab is in background (title/favicon update, audio playback or usage of non-persistent notifications). – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS I'm going through everything related to "Touch* and "Sensor" and have disabled much and the text has not vanashed as of yet on v11. Fingers Crossed

Also V11 Speaking: I've disabled.. #device-discovery-notifications #enable-optimization-hints - Enable the Optimization Hints feature which incorporates server hints into decisions for what optimizations to perform on some pages on slow networks. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome #enable-app-bannersOS, Android - app BannersEnable the display of Progressive Web App banners, which prompt a user to add a web app to their shelf, or other platform-specific equivalent. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS #enable-experimental-app-banners - Enables a new experimental app banner flow and UI. Implies #enable-app-banners. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, Android #enable-experimental-productivity-features - Enable support for experimental developer productivity features, such as Layered APIs and policies for avoiding slow rendering. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, Android #top-sites-from-site-engagement - Enable Top Sites on the New Tab Page to be sourced and sorted using site engagement. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, Android

I feel disgusted that we can not rid ourselves of evil google - no matter the browser I used. I'm not happy about these and having to allow them to track my every move accounts.gstatic.com mail.gstatic.com maps.gstatic.com encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com connectivity.gstatic.com metric.gstatic.com ssl.gstatic.com

Okay ... I'll just leave those at their defaults then, not sure if enabled or disabled. I agree, I'll put up with it and I'm like ... lol ... my text is gone and I copy it (the blank text) to my clipboard then to notepad and change the color and its there. Maybe that helped you in the process and the text is still there but hidden. I don't care and I just close it and stand up and do something else for a minute - good to stretch the legs every so often. As it stands: Your new version 13 is great and videos play somewhat well, but skips. V13.5 chews up every resource but is much prettier. V12 wasn't good when I last tried it but will give it a whirl tomorrow. DC Browser works but videos stop dead with the circle animation, so that is gone. For me (just personally for my usage and limited juice), V11 plays videos the best so the pros far outweigh the inconvenience; indeed

I still very much enjoy: Man In The Mirror :)

Yes. I read that in a posting a while back and disabled 2d canvas. I have 3d set to its default which is enabled (even though I don't play 3d games), and pixel canvas recording to its default, I'm not sure if that should be enabled or disabled or left alone? Not sure of its status at default. I hope you'll keep looking and will discover the cause. 3D software rasterizer Fall back to a 3D software rasterizer when the GPU cannot be used. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, Android #disable-software-rasterizer Enable pixel canvas recording Pixel canvas recording allows the compositor to raster contents aligned with the pixel and improves text rendering. This should be enabled when a device is using fractional scale factor. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS #enable-pixel-canvas-recording

Wanted to thank you ... This has has made a HUGE difference in browsing. EDIT: Please do not mess with gstatic other than csi and fonts - I ran into trouble today until I reset my entire connection. I made google VERY angry. https://yoodley.com/gstatic-meaning/ https://www.thewindowsclub.com/what-is-gstatic-com-used-for-all-you-need-to-know I feel disgusted that we can not rid ourselves of evil google.
