  1. Oh I see, appreciate it. Getting a little (more than a little) over my head; I admit that wholeheartedly.
  2. Will indeed check those out and and run it through my user.js tomorrow - don't worry I'll make sure to back up my profile Hmmm ... I'm showing on my Mypal68 browser.display.use_document_fonts as the default is 1 Thank you @dmiranda and @Sampei.Nihira
  3. ^^ A tad surprised people didn't like Jan London
  4. In my 20s I used to always be 'out and about' and partying to the hilt in NY most at gay clubs ... but now I just look forward to the quiet with my plant and hope the other guys will get lost and I'm COMPLETELY sober now and never EVER touch a drop of alcohol so I'm no fun anyway. I presume most of the people I surrounded myself with are dead, some of them weren't exactly living a healthy lifestyle. Me ... sex was never for me - couldn't care less about it then or now. Besides that never defined me and there was A LOT more to me than that and even when I tried to work. Regrettably I drank most of my 30's and part of my 40's away (alone by myself) into agoraphobia and complete isolation as I decided I don't like people . Can't get that time back so I'm stuck in a, I don't know, I don't know, a time warp. Overall I'm (while not happy) at least content, but I feel EMPTY AND DEAD INSIDE. Never know our expiration date and my body shows the damage done plus a fatty liver, Low T, as a result. I feel my heart is in the shape it is bc of too much of smoking crack and psychedelics to MASK THE IMMENSE PAIN WITHIN. EDIT: Thanks God they're playing Nightmare On Elm Street so I can avoid the news. Oh and BTW: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Walsh n his book Monsters in the Closet: Homosexuality and the Horror Film, Harry M. Benshoff[16] references Jesse, stating the following: "Unlike the other films in the series, the protagonist of Freddy's Revenge is a teenage boy, one whom Freddy spends most of the film trying to "get inside of." Jesse is played with a sweet gay boy aura by actor Mark Patton, who played the preoperative transsexual Karen Black in Robert Altman's Come back to the Five-and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (1982). Jesse is introduced as the new kid in town, a loner and an outcast, and spends much of the film in his jockey-shorts, sweat glistening off his bare chest as he repeatedly wakes up from Freddy Krueger-inspired nightmares, which, as at least one author has noted, also suggests the imagery of AIDS-related night sweats." In The Queer Encyclopedia of Film & Television, Claude J. Summers[17] stated: "...Nightmare on Elm Street 2 (1985) features both an out homosexual in the form of a sadistic gym coach (who is brutally dispatched in a Grand Guignol shower scene) and a coded/closeted queer boy, Jesse (Mark Patton), whose outsiderness attracts the attention of the monster Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund). Harry Benshoff reads the scene of the coach's death-which occurs through Freddy's inhabiting, that is, penetrating, Jesse-as a version of homosexual panic that results in Jesse himself, an extension of the 1950s theme of the sophisticated older homosexual taking charge of a vulnerable, wavering younger man." https://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3746983/elm-street-2-star-mark-patton-needs-our-help-in-receiving-medical-care/ Glad I wasn't sexually active; for sure! 2nd EDIT: Not sure why I'm even thinking this way or that far back - its history and I'm here right now today despite being dealt a "bad hand". I don't know. 3rd EDIT: So I don't think we all found our ways (meeting here) here by accident is was serendipitous to MSFN and our members; currently even if its to learn both form the good and bad.
  5. The dreaded morning TV is reminiscing over 2023 ... HURL
  6. I did see that yesterday when I was reading over there. "Unfortunately there has been a pretty sharp downward trend in what DuckDuckGo's search partnership provides to the project" That is what they were relying on mostly?
  7. For some reason can not like or upvote so have to reply instead. Very much appreciated the songs and glad you came back here because we missed you.
  8. Thanks for the suggestions, all.
  9. Just ran the test and don't know what to make of the results.
  10. Never tried Proxomitron bc I always figured it was over my head.
  11. The only settings I use regarding font(s) are: browser.display.use_document_fonts;1 (Default) font.name-list.emoji; gfx.font_rendering.opentype_svg.enabled;false I don't know.
  12. <OT> You fit in just fine here and anywhere you decide to post because you are "True" and "Genuine". <OT>
  13. Actually, I think you English is pretty good. That song means more to me because it (along with your Bert Kaempfert songs) were for the beautiful dance the Foxtrot and that is why ... not so much the love ... and greetings back at ya from a 50YO loveless bachelor and I hope you enjoy a nice fruitful life well past 67+
  14. Thank you, @dmiranda, very much appreciated that you took the time to tell me that. I still have a lot to learn really from you folks.
  15. @e-t-c ... did you happen to listen to THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER YOU - Andy Williams - This song has special personal meaning to me so I hope you'll give it a listen. I hope so and thank you for posting Kris Kristofferson.
  16. Sometimes I wonder if the host file entries help; somewhat. 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain 127.0.0.1 local 255.255.255.255 broadcasthost ::1 localhost ::1 ip6-localhost ::1 ip6-loopback fe80::1%lo0 localhost ff00::0 ip6-localnet ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix ff02::1 ip6-allnodes ff02::2 ip6-allrouters ff02::3 ip6-allhosts 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0
  17. Yeah, I haven't figured out what I'm gonna do once my (ancient and failing) machines crap out but the association (I'm a client) with likely set me up with a laptop with Linux. Ugh .. I just really like XP
  18. Gawd .. privacy.resistFingerprinting So yeah, its keeps the browser at the preferred space but I expand it anyway to fit my screen which makes me even more unique. As as to: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-protection-against-fingerprinting privacy.resistFingerprinting.letterbox https://tor.stackexchange.com/questions/23313/today-there-is-privacy-resistfingerprinting-letterbox-which-prevents-firefox-tor with that set to true it makes it not enjoyable so I go without it. Just sayin, is all ... hopefully @feodor2 will come up with something to scramble or poison the canvas.
  19. ^So true, but here we are after as whirlwind of a year (not all bad). Reaching back to my 20's and recalling I'm not even (a little) close to whom I am now and I'm jaded. Ok, enough. Any new years resolutions? I'll start. Just want to take it day-by-day and not worry (so much) about things beyond my control.
  20. But, then again, I'm the one always "preaching" that we should live for today ... so will try to follow my (own) advice and do such, because yesterday is over and tomorrow hasn't happened yet; that being said, hard to avoid going down the rabbit hole of worry.
  21. I don't know, like, hate to say it, but, I have some serious concerns and doubts regarding 2024 ... so best (I think) would be to keep the expectations low to avoid disappointment and despair. That being said: I don't know what to expect, and, if I think too hard about it its gut wrenching and VERY unhealthy.
  22. ^Hmmmm ... I DO hope during the happenings that go on on MSFN ... our members will give Jay London a watch ... seeing as Mister Blobfish took the time to post it.
