My Browser Builds (Part 5)
Rod Steel replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Pale moon users on their forum report, that latest version of Pale Moon pass CloudFlare check. I tried latest NewMoon version (2025-03-14) and it works. https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?p=260900#p260900 Yet they also report that Basilisk so far not passing CloudFlare check. Yet it was promised that CloudFlare will do that to, so let's hope they will. So if you New Moon user - no more need to use Supermium on CloudFlare protected sites like https://www.y2mate.com/en949. -
Maybe it have something to do with DNS servers in browser? Maybe you need to change your DNS servers? Musk is Ketamine addicted junkie. As smart man once said: Never trust a junkie!

Windows XP and SATA hard drives with 4k sector size
Rod Steel replied to Nomen's topic in Windows XP
Ok, i finally figured out what this number means, after working with SSD on Windows 7. This number means size of data space between the start of physical disk and start of logical disk on SSD that you selected in AS SSD. So if you install windows 7 on empty un-partitioned SSD it will create first 500 MB service logical disc for win 7 needs, and then System C. Thus why you will have number counting in KB this 500MB logical disk before System C. And if you created, say, 60GB System C, and selected for test logical Disk D in AS SSD - it will show number in KB of "500MB logical disk PLUS System C". -
He is con-artist and fraudster. Jail is crying for him. But in America rich is above the law, unless they steal from other very rich people (like Bernie Madoff). There is a good YouTube channel called Thunderf00t that expose his lies and fraud.

Look's like CloudFlare nightmare soon may be over, Pale Moon community reach out to press and CloudFlare team apparently noticed they negative coverage in press: Moonchild wrote: The Register article title is hilarious: Cloudflare's bot bouncer blocks weirdo browsers We finally know what browsers we using - a weirdo browsers. -
Windows going down since abandoning original Longhorn, but windows 11 is "Nightmare on the wings of the night".

No, it's not Finita. Just use torrents as i said before. I will send you links in PM. This is how i watched in 2017 - torrents. P.S. 720p is not low definition. It is HD resolution, also i admit that YouTube low bit rate and mediocre AVC Main Profile 3.1 encoding make it look bad.

Installing Windows XP on a HP Touchsmart 600
Rod Steel replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows XP
Why you use flash drive to install windows? HP 600 should have a blu-ray optical drive. Why not install using DVD disc and optical drive? Did your XP ISO have AHCI drivers built-in with NLite? Or change AHCI mode to IDE in BIOS. Maybe just change HDD and try again? That's all ideas so far. -
I never used this browser before. I have 2 questions: 1) What the situation with ClouFlare on MyPal68 ? 2) Is there language packs for Ukrainian language (or maybe russian), also i do prefer Ukrainian. Because my relatives don't like English interface.

I usually download videos from YouTube for years with free service https://www.y2mate.com/en949 Lately it started to use online protection from CloudFlare. Now with CloudFlare quackery i downloaded latest Supermium browser as installation package and during installation check "shortcut" option + ungoogled option. With it i can use sites with idiotic CloudFlare protection. So download this movies on your computer and watch it on your flat TV or computer. I really recommend watch that 2 movies, especially Where to Invade Next. I also want to note - that i give that link in Indivious Nadeko front-end. It works unreliably lately, but www.y2mate.com works even whith Indivious links! Alternatively you can just download this movies via torrent sites,

I don't think he is anti-american, he just have different views than many people in USA. Some views are good, some not. But i enjoyed his movies, i don't have to agree with him on everything - it's just about this movies. Remember his stance against never-ending wars on middle-east was booed in 2003. Now it's mainstream even for MAGA. They booed him 22 years ago only to took his stance in this decade. So who is Hippocratic? But i do recommend to watch 2 of his movies on links that i provided - it's legal, he himself uploaded his films on YouTube. I am really ask you both to watch them and recommend them - it's a very good movies. And remember - he shot Bowling for Columbine - one of the greatest documentary films of all time.

Now even 360Chrome 13.5 don't work with Cloudfare - it's just don't show small window with Cloudfare check. Several days ago it worked with 360Chrome, but now it doesn't. Seems like a total war on alternative browsers by Cloudfare. As usual everything done for ours "security". In XXI century on West almost all negative things done for "security" - it's one of the most hated words in English language for me. -
I just want to clarify that nobody here is glad that this is happening. I am disappointed that quality of life worsening for Americans since 2008. I want for Americans to have universal healthcare and raised minimum wage and better life. That just not happening, things going in opposite directions; for the first time in American history young generation live worst then they parents - this sucks. This is not the case anymore unfortunately. It was the case in 1980s, 1990s, until 2000s. In 2007 documentary "Sicko" guy doing stitches on his arm himself, cause he can not afford go to doctor - this is unthinkable in any civilized country, citizens perform minor surgeries on themselves because they can not afford go to doctor. I also recommend you to watch documentary from M. Moore "Where to invade next", where he compares standards of living in EU and USA. But even this documentary did not show story's that i constantly hear from USA: person get very ill with Insurance - got check on $200.000, how can you afford that where your month salary before taxes is $3000? People who work all they life well in they 50s, still have big credit on they college education. This is inhumane. It's not that you can not work hard, it's that you can word hard, act rational and still can end up bankrupt without medicine, without a place to live.

Broken after 5 hours of use Toshiba PC L200 2TB
Rod Steel replied to Cixert's topic in Hard Drive and Removable Media
Most likely. I don't believe in such coincidence. Better use big USB Flash drive like 64 GB or 128 GB to transfer big chunks of information using USB. And maybe try WD HDD next time? Also HDD needed to be solidly fixed when it's working, otherwise it can malfunction fast. -
Thank you! The stunning result of American elections is also reflects US education quality. I usually not embed video on forum directly, but this one need to be seen: Here is 2 similar videos that also need to be watched: https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=umpalMtQE50 https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=54-gBoG6m84 How can you expect from American population care or understand global climate change if they can not show they own motherland on world map!

Are you out of your mind? How can you not know about huge poverty in USA? USA have AT LEAST 37 million poor people according to USA Census Bureau (which exclude non-cash factors such as food stamps or medical care or public housing)!!! 37 millions, Carl ! And this is only official numbers which excluding many factors like medical care (how convenient for establishment, by the way, i guess with medical care and housing this numbers would be much higher) ! USA middle class is basically destroyed, which was done intentionally by redistributing wealth to the rich. And impoverish people now radicalized and search for a "simple solution" which explain sudden right-wing shift in USA last years and last elections. It's such a baby-boomer phrase. I understand that you provably are from boomer generation, but you have access to internet and you could ask google or YouTube about how your country is doing. I personally abolished idea of moving to America almost a decade ago when i done my research and realized how impoverish USA become after 2008 financial ruin and how situation become worse and worse every year. Let alone that i have (like almost everyone) medical problems, visit to doctor cost in USA hundreds of dollars without insurance and in Ukraine it cost nothing. Appendectomy in USA according to David Pakman cost 27,495 dollars before insurance!!! In Ukraine it's free or almost free. I know that before big war many Americans was medical tourists in Ukraine, but i was shocked to learn recently, that they STILL visiting Ukraine to have access to cheap European level medicine instead of they privatized bankrupting monstrosity machine. You probably never heard about such left leaning YouTube channels like "Secular Talk" or "David Pakman" but i recommend you to watch they several video to learn more about situation with poverty in your country. Wealth Inequality in America Has Never Been Worse. The Middle Class Has Disappeared My Appendectomy If I Didn't Have Health Insurance UN Official Shocked By Extreme Poverty, 3rd World Disease In US

My Browser Builds (Part 5)

ATTENTION. Cloudflare security check stopped working in New Moon and Serpent in January. I checked in Chrome - there it's working. Example: https://www.y2mate.com/youtube/oZaDX7cgJEo Press download green button and see how Cloudflare check looping endlessly. Roytam1, please, can you fix it? Serpent even crashed during that check. Edit: Ok. i noticed that New Moon crashes too, so i searched "Cloudflare" on Pale Moon forum and this is what i find: Pale Moon people are well aware of that issues and situation so far not resolved Cloudflare Verification Loop issues Cloudflare has decided to crash Pale Moon It's hard to believe in such levels of incompetence, probably Google and Cloudflare trying to destroy alternative browsers. At this point it safely to say that no company did not made more damage to internet as Google. They really go from "don't be evil" to "just be evil as f***". This monopolies can be defeated only by Superstates like USA and EU. But considering what happening last month in USA i must say it look disappointing. -
Windows XP and SATA hard drives with 4k sector size
Rod Steel replied to Nomen's topic in Windows XP
I don't know. It's depends also of what controller in that SSD, (A400 can have different controllers, depend of month and year of production) of what operation system installed - this information are not given to us by Cixert. If that SSD was all years misaligned and run on non TRIM OS like Vista, or XP, or 2000, then it's numbers maybe ridiculously low. But if internal technology of idle state garbage collection is active there, the penalty might be not so big at all. Well i hope you will give us screenshots of AS SSD. I want to see screenshots. -
Windows XP and SATA hard drives with 4k sector size
Rod Steel replied to Nomen's topic in Windows XP
I have no idea what this number means. It's a mystery to me. If Disk Alignment Test, MiniTool partition Wizard and AS SSD all says your partition is not aligned, then it is not aligned. You should align partition using MiniTool partition Wizard option. I don't know any SATA3 SSD that is not 4K. As far as i know, they all are AF 4K. Where did you get this idea that Kingston A400 have 512 byte physical sectors? This is ridiculous idea. Just align your SSD with MiniTool partition Wizard, dude. And then show here screenshots of AS SSD BENCHMARKING BEFORE AND AFTER alignment performed. -

https://chatgpt.com/ seems not working in New Moon. Can it be fixed? -
No, no such things. P.S. Why don't you visit radiomarket in your town and buy mentioned above by me videocards? AGP versions of X800 or Geforce 6800 should be dirt cheap now, like 500UAH or something.
-
No. There is nothing to be modified. Geforce 4MX 440 is a DirectX 7.1 videocard. While Windows 7 need hardware support of Direct X 9 with 2.0 shaders. Your videocard predate windows 7 on 7 years, and use DirectX from year 2000 with no shader processors at all. To have normal 3D hardware acceleration on AGP system with windows 7 you need Geforce 6 or 7 series videocards or radeon analogues - X800 (unnoficially), X1xxx, x2xxx, x3xxx with AGP port.

Windows XP and SATA hard drives with 4k sector size
Rod Steel replied to Nomen's topic in Windows XP
Well, after all, diskat-gui.exe is old program, more then decade old. And your SSD is new. So maybe it's detect wrong. So better use AS SSD test program - it is far more informative and is new, because it's constantly been updated. Please test your SSD with this program and make and upload here screenshot of AS SSD benchmark result. Here is a picture describing what is what in AS SSD interface: -
Windows XP and SATA hard drives with 4k sector size
Rod Steel replied to Nomen's topic in Windows XP
Before 2010 change for 4K size of physical cluster consumer HDD was ALWAYS from the begging of they mass production in early 1980's - a 512 bytes drives. Meaning they physical sector size was 512 bytes. Thus why all windows OS before Vista formatted them with correct alignment by default. It was the only alignment. If you talk about windows OS - apparently NO. As i understand you are confused why NTFS use 4K CLUSTER size as standard even where sectors were 512 bytes? Am i right? The explanation that i read is next: As far as i understand the 4K cluster size in NTFS system before 2010 year 4K FORMAT era was because CPU native minimal memory page size is 4K. The 4K memory page was standard first in late 1970's with VAX and ОS VMS. In x86 CPU world support of 4K memory page was introduced in 1985 with Intel 386. So as i remember the explanation why NTFS use standard cluster size of 4K - it is minimal memory page size of modern popular CPU's. Thus why later, when better efficiency of storage of information was in discussion, 4K as native physical sector size was obvious choice.
