  3. Yes I should have said that = root directory just out of curiosity I was checking the ''empty'' C partion and the boot file is there (XP is installed in K partition)
  4. the WFP switcher is an amazing utility. I could rename and replace the original kernel the W7 trick doesn't work for XP https://superuser.com/questions/479499/how-to-disable-windows-file-protection-in-windows-xp-or-7-from-registry the weird thing is that when I switch it off, then Windows does not bring the original kernel back anymore...
  5. Yes it's almost a copy paste. I'm done and gonna throw in the towel. I cannot even check the boot.ini with hex editors because I don't know where that file is (it normally is inside Windows folder)
  6. I'm unable to get this thing working... multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="[1;32mMicrosoft [1;34mWindows [1;33mXP JACLAZ" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect k:\grldr="[1;36mGrub4dos" multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="[1;32mMicrosoft [1;34mWindows [1;33mXP JACLAZ" /noexecute=optout /fastdetect k:\bootsect.bin="[1;37mMS-DOS"
  7. 2.1.1 ? http://es.oldversion.com/windows/utorrent/ http://es.oldversion.com/windows/utorrent-2-2-1-2
  8. 1.8.5 or 2.04 I use either of them they feature the last nice visual theme.
  9. well... this also happens with the up to date @roytam1 Serpent. by default it's set at 42 however I have tried higher numbers and got similar result as yours

  11. coup d' oeil ici https://www.askvg.com/what-is-microsoft-net-framework-download-links-for-all-versions-inside/
  12. faking user agent will allow you to sort this out.
  13. looks like you have missed some posts from this thread... the russian patch is build on top of ALL string so it doesn't work with my current mainboard and thus I have tu make use of the brazilian patch @daniel_k with 4GB value only btw your russian tool is getting old and the most recent version is already available in english (check post #6)
  14. ''For example, in the future, a website won't be able to tell if a visitor using Chrome is running Chrome on Windows 7 or Windows 11'' https://www.zdnet.com/article/google-to-phase-out-user-agent-strings-in-chrome/
  15. I have no idea as to where the bitmap of TU kernel is getting stored. what is the difference between 1033 and 3082 ? When I launch the TU kernel I get to see the second picture below but only 3GB of RAM I can send you the TU kernel if you want to check it out by yourself....
  16. ok. sorry. I want to use at once the 4GB PAE and a custom boot screen created with TuneUp utility. (it's pretty simple) the bottom line (3) is the original 4GB PAE @daniel_k as you can see TuneUp creates its own kernel file (Kernel=TUKernel.exe) and set aside the 4GB kernel as backup (KERNEL=ntkrpae.exe) once I restart Windows I can only see 3GB of RAM it seems like TuneUp makes use of the original NTOSKRNL file to create it's own kernel file = TUKernel. I have tried to replace the NTOSKRNL file for NTKRPAE file but renaming it as NTOSKRNL the problem is that Windows immediately restores the origial kernel file so this trick won't work
  17. January 14th is over. right after XP EOL there was less XP users (19.24%) than W7 users by now... (26.79%) I don't know why W10 market share number in this site differs from the other site. https://gs.statcounter.com/windows-version-market-share/desktop/worldwide/#monthly-201404-201404-bar
  18. question for experts. how can I mix up the kernel 1 with the 3 multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /HAL=halpae.dll /TUTag=9CKGRR /Kernel=TUKernel.exe multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional (TuneUp Backup)" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /HAL=halpae.dll /KERNEL=ntkrpae.exe /TUTag=9CKGRR-BAK multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP DANIEL" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /HAL=halpae.dll /KERNEL=ntkrpae.exe
  19. I see no difference on youtube design between 360 browser and @roytam1 default user agent (42) on Serpent 52.
  20. How old is that ticket vending machine ?
  21. I have not patched anything with it. it could be a false positive for Avast but once you install it and get infected it can be nothing but a trojan.
  22. a false positive should not infect Windows whatsoever. this trojan makes firefox based browsers @roytam1 almost unusable unless you delete the profile folder or start them in safe mode. then you run the anti virus to clean up the trojan ET VOILÀ ! problem solved.
  23. I don't know what your post has to do with my quote but if you need an alternative to Protonmail here you go. https://criptext.com/en/ https://mailfence.com/
  24. that tool from github contains a trojan. why don't github files get scanned ?
  25. what page did you read this on ? I'm not confident with Seagate because of lower realiability compared to WD but I would be interested in a similar 5/6 TB HDD 3.5'' size
