  1. boolean, integrer or string ? FF52 is working perfect now beyond the 2GB of RAM. although it drains a lot more RAM and it doesn't drop quickly as I'm geting tabs closed. I'm still waiting a response to my other post as the multi process trick is no longer functional on PM28
  2. your local government was already stealing your bucks why should a private company give more money to M$ ?? https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/apr/07/uk-government-microsoft-windows-xp-public-sector https://www.businessinsider.com/why-the-uk-government-stopped-paying-for-windows-xp-2017-5
  3. React OS was as bad as Windows Longhorn. it took me several attempts to get it installed with a CD (not bootable USB)
  4. it does not work to me any more. I have reset everything to default settings.... however FF52 is working pretty well.
  5. I had tested this one but it requires a password and it loads unwanted services on startup which makes Windows pretty slower. https://www.nomachine.com/
  6. this is a good and light alternative for Team Viwer https://anydesk.com/remote-desktop
  7. That's why M$ bought Github. I'm waiting for the remastered open source XP.
  8. NEC driver does not take any effect to me. My USB.3 PCI card is slow like any other USB.2 output port
  9. has anyone compiled all the POSReady updates in a exe file or is there a software tool to scan the updates that I have already installed (or missed) ?
  10. for example https://robotbirds.co.uk/ ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH
  11. on my BIOS I have silent - optimal - performance modes. I ve got it set at -optimal- that way the fan speeds up only when it's required. I also had a dual core AMD and it was even worse it struggled to access blogger sites or sites full of heavy flash ads. however now with a quad core AMD it's far more better I suspect you don't use the stock fan/ cooler or the temperature must be really high at 100% usage Yep I also have a i5 and i7 but don't use them at all. although the fan is quiet enough.
  12. many sites don't support it anymore and you get a grey background with an error code. for unknown reasons I was getting BSOD when closing chrome browser (it probably was due to a Nvidia driver conflict) now I only use it to read my gmail it's incredibly fast and smooth unlike Yahoo mail. that's it everything has been optimized for Chrome based browsers nowadays! what' a shame
  13. I don't think so.... XP' market share was big enough when they dropped the support for XP. I'm not afraid for the lack of Windows updates. without support a web browser becomes totally unusable like IE6
  14. it took Google 2 years or so to stop the support for XP and as you might know Google and M$ are close friends now it depends on how many enthusiasts will be there behind CHROME browser support as @roytam1 is.
  15. that's new to me. 100% CPU = 0% noise ? (it's not a laptop) anyway I have the same problem with either Basilisk or Palemoon I don't understand why sometimes it requires so much processor I have tested this same trick on Firefox52 and wish I had known this trick long before... it runs quieter and smooth like butter
  16. All right. that works for me too I feel the ''hungry'' sites such as facebook and youtube run quite a bit smoother however the processor fan makes much more noise as the CPU usage goes up to 60%
  17. 4.11%........ 4.54%......... now 4.08%...... (within the past 24 hours) how reliable is this site ?
  18. my Windows clock is not working as it should. I have reset clock multiple times however it ends up with 45 minutes in advance. everytime I restart the computer it's 2 hours ahead (for an hour) I have seen it shows the correct time between 3 and 5 AM or so.... go figure....
  19. https://netmarketshare.com/operating-system-market-share.aspx?options={"filter"%3A{"%24and"%3A[{"deviceType"%3A{"%24in"%3A["Desktop%2Flaptop"]}}]}%2C"dateLabel"%3A"Trend"%2C"attributes"%3A"share"%2C"group"%3A"platformVersion"%2C"sort"%3A{"share"%3A-1}%2C"id"%3A"platformsDesktopVersions"%2C"dateInterval"%3A"Monthly"%2C"dateStart"%3A"2017-12"%2C"dateEnd"%3A"2018-11"%2C"segments"%3A"-1000"} within the next 4 months this number will strongly decrease for sure.
  20. why don't you use Skype Web ? that way you won't need to install anything
  21. 6.34GB out of how many ? 8GB ? I have turned the virtual memory off and when the system reaches a litte over 2GB I get an error window and the browser(s) do instantly crash. right after a fresh XP installation it usually recognizes 3.5GB but now only 3GB out of 8GB that said, Firefox for unknown reason has never permormed well beyond 2GB or less whereas Chrome have never had such a problem 4, 5, 6 GB flawlessly executed (with virtual memory of course) this is why I need more RAM because 2GB to me is quite a bit limited.
  22. thanks FranceBB if there is no way to get this patch work I will reinstall Server 2003 SP1 once again but the problem is to find trouble free drivers. could you share a screenshot of your system properties so I can see it's right that it can handle more than 4GB ??
  23. thanks for the link. I have installed multiple patches over the years DX10, DX11..etc with no luck I have recently installed one which seems to represent DX10 although the dxdiag window does only show DX9 all the time.
  24. my other thread has been closed for no apparent reason. if there was something against forum rules it would be better to just delete the necessary post hence I have to start a new thread because I'm not getting any help throught private message. (this was the good recommendation of the moderator) seems like FranceBB, heinoiganda and the autor of this bad patch don't care for me. is anyone else successfully getting more than 4GB of RAM with XP x86 ???
