well for the workstation cpu's i went with the quad and that may be better for you too. eventually programs will start to support quad core such as your audio/video editing programs and that can make things a hell of alot faster. just google Q6600 vs E6850 and you will find plenty of threads about it.

well grab the latest video driver for your mobo, that is all that you should need. then connect the svideo cable to your comp and your tv. then reboot. then right click the desktop, properties, settings. you should be at this screen: just right click screen 2 and click attached and you should be good to go.

it is already there for right click open with. so i dont see how you are having a problem? if the programs do not show then add it to the list.

dont listen to tom's hardware, please. MSI is good but i woudlnt call them the best at all. i prefer asus over them, what problems exactly are your friends having and with what models? vista is good for quads

brucevangeorge-do you realize that vista SP1 will most likely be only updates? vista is good right now, why do you hate it so much? c0nt3nd3r-what exactly do you need this computer for? dont get an x-fi, it's a waste of money in my opinion. onboard is very good right now, the only difference is eax. for psu the corair 620HX is a nice one. you wont need any more power than that dont go for cheap ram, you want 4GB? you can get some decent 2x2GB sets for $200 for speakers i like these better than the logitechs: https://www.klipsch.com/products/details/promedia-2-1.aspx for video card, if you really want a 24" monitor then you need to go for the 640MB model.

Errr...people do use their computers for things other than playing games. Programming, web development, virtual machines, creating/editing documents, working with databases...those things all take processing power and RAM as well. I dare say that if he was doing some programming using Visual Studio 2005 against an ASP.NET site hosted within a VM he could potentially be using more RAM than any of the newer games on the market. well if he used programs that needed a large amount of memory then it wouldnt even be a question about getting 4GB of ram. i do lots of web development and you dont really need 4GB of ram for that unless you are running like dreamweaver,flash, and photoshop all at the same time, which i on rare occasions do. but if he is doing some intensive programming then he will know to get alot of ram.

ya absolute usually works but i have ran into some situations where it did not

only get 4GB if you plan on playing top end games, i definatly notice a difference when it comes to that. i went from 2GB to 4GB.

they would all work fine but 95% would be the safest. you just want to make sure that the water/alcohol has all evaporated.

get the highest % of alchohol that you can, 90% or better. this will cause it to evaporate really fast.

That's not really the solution. All that really needs to be done is better use of the DIVs. Using fixed is just asking for trouble. You need to nest the divs and set relative spacing for everything to work the way you want. ya you better listen to this. you can run into huge problems when using fixed/absolute. also if it looks good in one browser, that doesnt mean that it will look good in another..

you must be mixing something up b/c 9 days for the poison to have an effect? why would that matter at all? couldnt you just say it takes 1hr to take effect and the party is in 2hrs? b/c no matter what, for all the prisoners to test it out and to see what the outcome is, it is going to take those 9 days, so im just not seeing how it would matter for the days..
