try installing windows without the drivers and see what happens. with vista i didnt have to load any drivers for my raid.

are there any diagnostic lights on the mobo?

take out the graphics card and put it back in. are there any system beeps or are there any diagnostic leds on the mobo?

IT IS still relevant. It's simply not the only factor. Clock always has been and always will be relevant! EVEN when comparing different infrastructures.And proof that you have no idea what the f*** you're talking about, as usual, the 3.2GHz Pentium D whacks the slower 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo... by your argument, the clock speed shouldn't matter. You couldn't be more wrong. Clock speed is VERY important. It's simply that the Core 2 infrastructure has been redesigned therefore increasing the effective data throughput for a same clock speed comparison. Clock speed is still very important and plays a vital role in performance. If you don't want people running around calling YOU an id***, I'd suggest you put more thought into your statements before you post them. let me clarify then, clock speed when comparing different infrastructure is irrelevant. and you have to stop taking my posts out of context just for the sake of arguing.

he, stop teasing me keeps everything nice and cool my cpu doesnt even get to zxian's idle temps on load, im only OCed to 3GHz at the moment. but my 8800GTS has been overclocked alot and i definatly love it now. some games on max setting it would lag, and we cant have any of that, so the OC is working nicely on that. the Q6600 really doesnt need to be OCed so until i need something that will really push it, i wont OC it that much. im running below stock volts now anyways and it's OCed. im idling at 25C right now, and my comp is really quiet, finally. but now i don't have space to put a sound card in

get the C2D, better cpu and the gfx card is closer to an x1600 which is better than the x1150

False. I was able to recover data with R-Studio fully intact on areas of the drive that had not been written to as much as others after 6 reformats (full format). actually you are right. i just reasearched it and neither the quick of the full format erases any data. i was told by multiple people that the full format writes over the entire disk, but that apparently is not true. i need to tell at them now

either use you sound card's driver program and mess with the equilizer or use winamp and mess with its equilizer

as you stated, look for old boards. the new boards have the new type of enter key and they will most likely stay that way for a long time. he might as well get used to it now instead of trying to look for another keyboard in 10 more years. if all keyboards are one way these days then whenever he uses one of them he will do nothing but complain.

to save space for more keys. just learn the keys better, get a new keyboard and after using it for a few weeks you will get to know it and it will be easy to type with. so dont worry about it.
