"so far it works for me" so you wouldnt say that about xp? both xp and vista work perfectly for me. and do you have any solid evidence that vista does not work for the majority of people? also his main purpose must be gaming because of how he spent over $1000 on video cards. vista does have complete driver support for his system. and that vista capable/ready thing was a joke i was making i;m not trying to argue here, im just saying what i beleive to be true

well i just think vista is better than xp. i've used xp for years and vista for over a year now. i havnt had any problems with programs or anything, especially since it has been out for so long now. i suppose he could dual boot but i just dont see a real reason.

it has some good features but i chose a creative zen over it.

zxian, you say "Some people say that the system itself is slower when running Vista" i would have to agree with that for people who have slow computers to begin with, even those "vista capable" computers. 512mb of ram is not capable at all, lol. it's good to hear that you will be moving to vista soon suryad has the best of the best and vista would just help even more. suryad, just go with vista, i am not sure why you are so reluctant.. i have been using vista since RC1, that is over a year now. the only problems i had were with video drivers, but those are all fixed now. vista is now, xp is old.

well why would you even want to go with xp. i used to use xp x64 and now i have vista x64. both are good but i just like vista alot more. do you plan on using xp forever? you need to make the switch sometime.

oh definatly read up on the card, they are totally different. and go with vista x64. you got this rig to game, and the new games are dx10. so why wouldnt you use vista!?

did you seriously buy that! it's a beast! lol go for vista x64. you want dx10 dont you? now what i dont get is that you spend that much on a computer and you didnt go with watercooling also why that sound card and speakers? you should have went with the new x-fi and if possible find my speakers. and have you tried out that mouse before? many say that it is uncomfortable. some love it. otherwise everything is just unbeleiveable.

ya i am the same at school. actuall i think that i am one of the only students who even has the privledges to lock my computer. sometimes people would just lock there comp, walk away, and not come back, meaning that the computer would have to be restarted for someone else to use it.. even at home i lock my comp, i hate people messing around on my computer then messing something up.

he already has a dvd combo drive, so he can at least burn cds, which he doesnt even know how to do.. and i already have an 80gb hdd sitting around from my other comp. and i suppose i will go for that allendale, dual core is definatly better for only 30$ more now what about mobo with integrated graphics?

well 80$ for that vid card is a good deal, even tho it prolly is overkill. i could possible see him playing nhl08 and tiger woods 08. i do still need to decided about the video. what are some good choices on mothergoards that have good integrated video, is X3100 the best?
