  1. One thing that does not work with Windows 8.1 is Civil 3D 2013. A good friend of mine has a surveying company. He needs to run C3D 2013 because C3D 2015 projects are NOT compatible with the earlier versions. Most of the surveyors are still using Windows 7 right now, though this will change eventually. The thing is he just had to return three Dell laptops, because Dell did not provide the Windows 7 drivers for them, and he couldn't downgrade.
  2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tree\Aero Glass Index value 1 what if i changed the value to 0 would that fix to reboot startup? or keep default Why are you having a problem? This program is made for Windows 8.1. I think that no matter what we suggest for you it is not going to happen. Are you a troll or something? You might be better reformatting you whole effing hard drive, then trying BigMuscles program. There is nothing wrong with his program. So why are you taking up precious forum space? why am i having a problem who am i? microsoft and made for windows 8.1 yes i can see that and you don't need to suggest anything and no im not a troll im a human being thanks and no reformatting not necessary i just got a new hardrive wich is what im using since my laptop was nuked during a clean with software called iobit advanced system care and there is nothing wrong with big muscle's software the issue is probably task scheduler and aero is not starting with the task that needs to startup and if you don't want to help you don't need to reply takiing precious forum space? i think i donated the software so i do deserve some support, I think you are a troll

  4. It already is compatible with all versions of Windows 8.1. It is compatible with desktops, and laptops. Really how come it works on my desktop pc windows 8.1 64bit and it does not on my laptop windows 8.1 pro 64bit i did every step right my friend, It has always worked without any issue on every computer, desktop or laptop, I have ever installed it on.

  6. Just reporting that v1.3.1 does not work in the leaked build 9888. Not that I would expect it.
  7. I think someone once figured out which resources go to which buttons for that for Win 8. Time for you to get the old graphics editor fired up too, and join the ranks of people improving Windows 10. -Noel I opened it in Photoshop, but after that I was clueless. I don't know how to change the color, or which button to change the color of.
  8. Is there any way to get the close, maximize, and minimize buttons to come up with red, blue, and green, instead of red, blue, and blue?
  9. I installed right over top. No problems at all. Just disable shiny glass whatever.
  10. NoelC said: This still has a dark "glow" for white title text. I think that really fits with the look of it, but would anyone want a variant where the you like the glow behind the title is light (for dark text)? Dhjohns replies: Yes, I love the light glow for dark text. I can not see my text when both are dark, and I have always assumed glow is light!
  11. This is good to know! One machine with several operating systems, and one key to use them all! Thank you!
  12. OK, so on my machine I have ONE drive with three partitions. The first is for my main OS which is Windows 8.1. The next is for my virtual machines. I have TWO VHD files which I boot to from my initial boot menu. The others are VMDK which I use in VMWare. The other partition is for sorting installation files and other stuff. One of the VHD files is Windows 10, and the other is a copy of Windows 8.1 which I upgraded from Windows 8. Both of these VHDs now are running Aeroglass v1.3.1 with the same donation.key, and none of them are showing watermarks or popups. So, basically I am running three different operation systems with the same donation.key. One is on the first partition natively, and the other two are on the second partition as VHDs.
  13. The machine codes are completely different. I have uploaded debug.log as debug.txt. UPDATE: I was just studying the log file, and from what I can tell, after the program finds that the Machine ID for the virtual hard drive is not valid, it checks the Machine ID from my main drive on which I have my Windows 8.1 native OS installed. When THAT matches, it says "Okay, we are good to go!" Hence no pop-ups or watermarks on my VHD. debug.txt
  14. Very Important Revelation: My Windows 10 TP Enterprise v9879 is installed on a VHD which resides on a different partition on the same drive. I can choose to boot to it from a boot menu when I start my computer. I have installed the new version of Aeroglass v1.3.1 on my native OS with a legitimate key, and I installed it on my Windows 10 VHD. Of course I had the watermark, and the pop-up since I had no license for this. I decided to do an experiment. I copied the donation.key file from my native Windows 8.1 set-up to the Aeroglass folder in the Windows 10 VHD. I RESTARTED, and the donation key WORKED!!!!
  15. This new version did not work very well at all until I used NoelC's theme atlas found here http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170850-aero-glass-for-win81-131/?p=1089863. I am using W10 b9879 Enterprise x64, with 2 monitors. I had a watermark in the lower right hand corner of each monitor, plus a watermark in the lower left hand corner of my main. Also, none of the symbols lined up correctly. I downloaded NoelC's theme atlas, renamed it to the default, and signed out, then back in again. Now everything is as it should be. The extra watermark also vanished. All is good. EDIT: If I uncheck install shiny atlas resource, it is fine. If I check it everything is all screwed up.

  17. You are absolutely right. Microsoft never cares what the consumer wants. They always give us a product that no one likes, and no one would ever use. After all isn't that what successful companies do? They all sell us products that suck. That is how they become so successful. Then they conspire to make them totally useless so we go out and buy more. It is a conspiracy that is what it is. No wonder no one uses Windows any more. No one likes it, and Microsoft makes sure it develops a product no one would ever want, and no one would ever buy.
  18. A reinstallation, not counting updates requires only about 20 minutes of your time. After you do that you can read all about aeroglass so you don't screw it up again.
  19. What really frustrates me about this forum is that there are plenty of members who would give their left nut to test BM's programs as they are developed, and would provide excellent feedback. Microsoft recognizes that the more testers who provide feedback the better; hence it releases Technical Previews. Unfortunately this situation does not exist here. D@mn shame.
  20. Not here it doesn't. It's working as solidly as ever for me with the latest updates. I've been running them for 2 full days now. -Noel Running just as beautifully as it ever did on my machine, also!
