Yea, the only thing I couldn't get to work at all was ModernFrame.dll. The other Aeroglass effects work including taskbar transparency. I found it works better when my donation.key is not installed. Otherwise I have to wait, and wait, and wait to hit cancel!

I try to open Paint, or Picasa with OldNew installed, and they immediately, or very soon after go to not responding. Uninstall OldNew, and they are back to normal. I downloaded from TiHiy's link above. EDIT: Interesting, I opened the config file, and clicked install, now everything seems OK. I never changed a thing. I have the folder on my C drive, and didn't remove it. Clicking uninstall several hours ago, then just now clicking install seems to have made the issue go away. Hmmm....

Works like a charm. The task bar on my 2nd monitor is now transparent.

Good Question, I don't do multi but my best guess is someone will find a way to make it work by rtm time. ~DP Other taskbars have the classe Shell_SecondaryTrayWnd but when you call the script, you must put your cursor on the second or third monitor if you whant it to work Thanks I will give it a try, and report back. Have a couple things to do first, but I will get back. :)

Well I got the tool, but I just cant seem to make it do what it is supposed to do. It seems to work, but I can not even get it to pick up the class name for the FIRST taskbar. If I could see it do that right, I would know it is doing something. If someone could give me the class name for the taskbar on the second monitor, I could get the transparency.

How did you update to it? Do you fully uninstall the previous version, or can I just install over it? Well, I got my system working again by removing everything, then I reinstalled 1.3.1 and copied the new debug over top of it, after stopping aerohost, and dwm in task manager.

Well, I came home from work. Applied the updates, and everything was FUBAR!!!! I stopped everything from loading, came to this forum, applied new debug version, re-enabled all the other stuff. You know, taskbar transparency, ModernFrame.dll, and everything is much, much better than before! Thank you bigmuscle!

I don't think so, but it has been a long time since I have used 8.1 on a regular basis. I am using 10 now.

You need to rename it to donation.key for it to work in new version.

Yes. you do, then it will be all screwed up, and you will need to restart to Safe Mode, and follow directions. I have to go out so I will be out of touch for a couple of hours. Good luck.

It is here: C:\AeroGlass\symbols\dwmcore.pdb\52B48AED43024C84B43205B95822F1961\ The actual numbers may be different (that last long folder,) but it will be in there. You only need to do this if you insert your license.

If you have it installed, completely uninstall it including the folder. Now, when you install v1.3.1 DO NOT CHECK the shiny theme or the protect boxes. It should work now. If you have inserted your license (assuming you have one) you must do another step. What I did was boot into SAFE mode, and delete the dwmcore.pdb FILE in the symbols\dwmcore.pdb\string of numbers and letters folder. I replaced it with a TEXT file which I renamed dwmcore.pdb. Make sure it is saved exactly as dwmcore.pdb, and NOT dwmcore.pdb.txt. Reboot normally. Now it should work. When you restart a window will pop up which says Windows can not hook your version of DWM. Click on cancel. I might just have to try this myself, lol. So, install 1.3.1 for 8.1 and "DO NOT CHECK the shiny theme or the protect boxes", then insert my license, then setup Noels latest Atlas, then boot into safe mode and replace dwmcore.pdb with a blank text file renamed appropriately of course? Then reboot into normal mode and cancel out the warning popup? Is that exactly right? Thank you dhjohs You need to replace the dwmcore.pdb BEFORE you setup Noel's latest Atlas. You won't be able to do a dam thing until you do that.

I tried to use the non debug v1.3.1 but during install it caused my screen to go black and couldn't do anything. I restarted and found out it didn't install. I don't know how you got it to work Maybe it only works in Texas. It was a no-go for me, too! Thanks for that update it works for me. But is there a way to make the buttons smaller on the ModernApp. Also when I hold "CTRL" to go to full screen there no way to go back to desktop. I have to hold "start" plus "D" to go back to desktop to close the app Just click on your Modern App icon in the task bar. The taskbar will be hidden, but will appear if you go to it. It will minimize. Then click on it again. It will maximize, but NOT go to full screen.
