  1. I have everything working now. This is a good thing. The search function is actually better than 10056.
  2. The issue with that is the Start Menu is broken along with the search box. So until there is a FIX it is pretty much useless.
  3. It would not be unheard of for Microsoft to incorporate advertisements in some of its Modern apps. This is done on a regular basis with many third party apps. Although I do not use many apps at all, just Twitter, and the Weather Channel app (when it works.) So far the Microsoft Weather app contains no advertisements, and I have not noticed any advertisements trying to sneak their way into my normal web browsing. I do have ad blockers which stop most ads from appearing on websites, and in videos. But here is the Weather app running on my desktop for any who are interested.
  4. He is probably waiting for the next build. I hope it will be soon!
  5. Why would you want to install ANY operating system without a live connection. I have stated previously and I will state it now "a Microsoft Account is a god-send!" There are many operating systems out there, if you do not want to install Windows you can get a Mac, or install one of the many permutations of Linux. I happen to greatly appreciate Microsoft's initiative in listening to their customers, and creating an excellent operating system. They have improved greatly over the years, and I look forward to installing, and testing their newest builds.
  6. That has absolutely NOTHING to do with what I asked for.
  7. I need you to provide proof from Microsoft that what you say is true. I need it stated absolutely in a Microsoft website. Come on, do you take me for a fool?
  8. So you think identity theft is a non-issue, or that it could never happen to you? I wonder what difference in your thinking you'll have after it happens. -Noel I wonder what he'll say about win 10 being ad driven and all of a sudden being shown ads related to his web searches and game choices? LOL
  9. I have no doubt that for every Windows installation, there is at least ONE Microsoft employee trying to glean information from it. There are probably several MS employees tapped into my computer right now, watching my every move!
  10. Yea, the list of things that OldNewExplorer breaks in Windows 10 is a long, and growing one. I had to uninstall it immediately to regain control of my OS.
  11. I'm surprised at your willingness to hand over administrative access to all your data to Microsoft. How do you reconcile that decision against the fact that they're being overtly devious lately, as well as messing things that were already working up left and right? Not that they couldn't drop load something through Windows Update and get data from all of us, even those with a local account, if they really wanted it. But just handing it over freely seems extreme to me. To each his own. -Noel I am not in to that conspiracy theory stuff, sorry. I see the MS account as a benefit, and I had hoped for it for years. Now I have it, and it saves me a lot of time, and is an awesome feature.
  12. What is the point of Start10 when I want to keep everything the same. It does not do anything to get rounded borders. It just replaces the start menu, and I already have the one I want. Plus, it totally deactivates my beautiful customized WinX menu. It is worse than worse. It renders Windows 10 basically inoperable.
  13. No, I'm kind of behind on that. I figured I'd ask for suggestions, as you have done. Have you looked at what daveo is using? That looks pretty good. -Noel It does look good, but I am not going to use Classic Shell. Bringing back the old W7 start menu is not something I dream about! LOL
  14. It does not really do anything at all. No rounded corners, nothing. Just a bit of color here and there. I was looking for something like Dave076's desktop. I hope he clues us in on what he did.
  15. NoelC, do you have a preferred theme which is relatively easy to install, that keeps the default start menu, and does not require old/new explorer? If so could you provide a link?
  16. That looks great! What are you using to get the rounded effect. Looks like one of the custom Windows 7 rounded themes for Windows 10. ~DP Yea it does. I just don't want a theme where I need to install stuff to install it! LOL Unless it works really well.
  17. That looks great! What are you using to get the rounded effect.
  18. NoelC -- your themeatlas is a bit out-of-sorts with the new build 10056!
  19. The problem has less to do with IE and more that the page is not being served with a proper mime type. -Noel --This is my mime type!
  20. Here is a screenshot of one of my monitors with the native Start Menu open. I hovered over the maximize button to show the green! This is build 10051!
  21. Win 10 build 10051 symbols not out yet either. ModernFrame.dll not working. The build is behaving same as 10049.
