you can get updated avg signatures at majorgeeks.com usualy every 2 days,same goes for norton.

i already have this.

norton the one of the best around but not 2004 or 2005 but the earlier versions seem the best,avg isin't that good.trend micro is alright.

i prefer to stick to single os install disks.

maybe this time this sp will allow all apps to work like on sp1 did,unlike sp2 that some apps don't work on it properly.

az dude,the topic is 98se or me,stay on topic plz.anyways 98 se is the better of the 2,it may be a bit older but there are sp's n stuff for it wheras with me there ain't much of anything for it,it is at best buggy,98 se is great once you tweak it n stuff but it can't compare to xp.

what happened to time horton?haven't seen him for months.

when i ran it on another pc it worked fine,faster than any other sp gape has come up with.

plus Fat 32/16 can have file allocation errors(i used to get them and had a friend fix them cuzz back then i knew little about pc's) and be hard to fix it,with NTFS because it is not based on fat32/16, you will not encounter those same errors,what prathapml said is true about fragments, even if an NTFS drive is like 75% fragmented it will still operate quite well,if fat32/16 were fragmented at 75% then performance would drop dramaticaly and you could face random errors on a fat32/16 system.if you tweak the NTFS file system then it could perform quite well even if it is very fragmented. jaclaz:i started from win 3.0 and went on to win95 then 98 then i tried me for a week but hated it cuzz it did weird things to me then i went to w2k pro then xp pro.

they should be updated to support all usb flash drives and cameras then it would be worthwhile.

sp4 for 2000 when i used it was too slow,even slower than sp3.a pack for sp3 and for sp4 ad more things to it cuzz it is newer n such,ms will support 2000 till 2008 or 2010.

and as long as ppl use 98 se and give good feedback n such then it will be made a better product but never perfect.

maybe they will be added back in the final 2.0 release.

on graphic cards 98 can but not the cpu itself(it's weird but thats the way it is)

this sp is great the rc3 of 2.0,these files are improved by people who want a more stable system,they are not hacked files they are official files(the hotfixes n such)some files are made by others but that does not make them hacked files.

98 sp 2.0 rc3 is what you want.

if longhorn does what i need it to do and the look is aceptable then i may just use it.

once 2.0 is released i can do a win98 app cleanup.

with win 98 you gotta slow down as it really can't keep up.

or don't expect one at all,a sp for me wouldn't hurt but doubt it would make me better than it is.

next year at the end of june 98 will no longer be supported by ms at all,right now it is well sorta.

actualy 98 had a bit less of a dos heart than 95 but me has even less of a dos heart,or actualy:the dos family of oses were not meant for more than 1 cpu as consumers did not need it,the nt family was for businesses and they were meant for more than 1 but now the nt is for everyone.

well i meant to say it's not recomended to noobs but same as 982me, sorry i did not phrase that clear enuf.i hope gapes pack will be relased soon.
