Windows 98 will run fine with any one processor, I have a Pentium IV, or whatever it is called. Can even go on 3 or 5 gig processor, just make sure that the processor is compatible with the OS. It does not matter, just make sure it can run. However the OS will not take advantage of special features of the processor itself, as these features was not implemented, unless somebody makes a patch. You can see the features of the CPU itself but will not be able to use those features, again that depends, who knows??? This is not like running an emulator of an OS like windows 3.1, or an early version of Amiga OS, or something along those lines. Windows 98 is a really high end OS, and demands the real thing, if you have an empty drive nearby, give it a logical partitian, and have the install format, or better yet find, fat32format, and use that for faster work. Windows 98 needs the actual machine. Using an emultor built for Windows ( like one running in a Linux environment ), is more suited, even a PPC Mac OS X emulator environment is more heavier. You can use a ISO to USB program, and that might work, or you can just write a disc, or use an extra drive you have lying around. The setup, should automatically point to a driver, and then you have to browse the discs folders, or whatever drive location. If the setup pauses, that is because the location of the setup, is not in the correct location??? When the install asks for the drivers locations, this means the disc. Usually when you install, the D:/ drive is the CD-rom drive it is reading from. However when you use a dos boot disc, that disk ( which I keep in my computer all the time ) should setup the environment for minim dos usage, like installing the OS.

So I found this game called "Blade Kitten", and woudn't you know it, it is actually a comicbook ( online comic ). If you remember or miss arcade stylistic gameplay or even the likes of Capcom or Konami, look no further. The game comes off as a graphical monster, and what you would expect does not quite happens. Yes the music is not original, and very obviously commercial but at least it does something differnt. Yes the vocals ( voice actors ) are commercial ( in teather this is a good thing ) and makes you say, why even bother if we are going to have another "Kim Possible" parade. Even the story progression has no logic sense at all. But it is still something that is good. So support this dying breed of videogames, from an Aussie publisher. On that note BK, comes with many attitudes that have been extinct, the likes of "Aeon Flux", "Tank Girl", and "Beyond Good and Evil ( the unrelated game )". Like Martial arts, exploring, collecting rocks, and even stupid robot, foot solider dialog, then look no further. BK, has all of these If you ever played "ragdoll Kung fu" then you will enjoy the "mouse sword", basically wave your sword around, and it will do long range as well as short range attacks. Keep in mind, in most 1st world nations it is legal to carry a sword openly in public, but for guns ( weapons of extreme force ), check your local laws. Back to the MS, which kinda destroys the idea of having any combat, and makes your character almost invincible. The game also features special graphical effects. Like zooming, which can bee annoying, comming from the 1990's and all. The game will zoom and unzoom at certain moments, and while like the effect, it can be both annoying and fun. Especially when you want to see how nice everything is, while an off screen enemy is bombing the living daylights out of you. Check out Blade Kitten for some nice memories and all. At least it looks nice, and is ten times better then what "Scud disposable Assassin" had to deal with on the PC, and the Sega Saturn market. In fact BK, being a comic and being from the west kinda hurts it all together, but now my generation has a shot of making things the right way, so give it a try.

'Food Fraud' a Growing Problem in Grocery Stores
ROTS replied to Monroe's topic in General Discussion
I don't know, this can also be seen as a tactic, to get people to buy organic foods and foods made on a national circuit ( meaning for the nation by the nation, and prevent importing ). Right now tensions are growing high, to raise standards in food in order to force the consumer to pay more for a product that would otherwise be cheap. I can see the problem with buying products from restaurants, because none of the items are labeled. Most of these claims seems to be attacks on, restaurants and sellers from the far east. Unrelated, I just do not see how something be considered Koshered and from China? Back on restaurants, usually they buy the meat from super markets and other chains, when it is about to expire. Big chain Supermarkets, keeps up this practice by selling cooked food made from, "About to be expired products". Might as well cook it, if you can't freeze it. Then that food gets passed down to shelters or is given away before it expires being frozen. Other thoughts? The FDA, like the rest of the government most likely wants us "the consumer" ( slave ), to pay for the war since 2001. This war ( population control/genocide etc ) has increased debt and obviously lowered the value of all currencies interacting with the dollar. Another consideration, like the mass global media ( human weather ) market, they want people to buy something, or do something related health wise, or flow in a certain direction. This direction might be forcing consumers to purchase a type of food group, to correct the bent spoon of a market place. By generating the want to eat healthier, they create an easy landslide for voters to agree to laws, that is unhealthy for small business owners, in the food industry, as well as turn government spending on food substitutes. -
Their is more I have to say about the subject, but their is a logical explanation for all of these things. Charles Manson vs Andy Warhol Divorce/latch key chidren/and one parent household. ( as the saying goes, lucky bastard ). The idea of human beings being able to store and record all data they come across ( Voices in the head theory ). Humans are the only creatures that sing. Like how baby bats can call out to it's mother among a group of millions. When the nation came together for causes like Civil Rights ( non-european, non-male, non-, which divided the nation ) How the media ( teather ) manipulated, reinforced stereotypes, and standard roles. Of course is the logical idea, we are made out of stardust, meaning when the big bang occured. Otherwise in ficiton, a starchild, is an esper being, with many abilities, as seen in "V" ( Visitors original and recent ), and "Space 2000" ( including 2001 ). do a youtube search on "GodWarrior". Note: her daughter passed, in a car crash??? It is kinda depressing. Sorry about the Yahoo, they have no respect for peoples privacy.

Scientists Manufacture Biofuel from Algae in Minutes
ROTS replied to Monroe's topic in General Discussion
1. Old news, but thanks for reinforcing me. I have seen this on television before, they have tons of tubes in the middle of what looks like a farm. Bunch of Alagae/Seaweed etc, and turns into something that can be burnt in a gas tank. 2. Question how fast does it burn, and I can put in a V8? 3. Is this safe for the enviorment, When the fuel burn what is the output? When Hydrogen is burnt the result is water, which can then be reused again and again. Are we making another O-zone layer with this fuel? -
Solution, use an early version of another operating system that is unable to see the encryption. Recently, some odd sounding person, called my grandparents house asking about their computer. They even tried to describe the computer they was using, by making suggestions that it is a Mac or PC ( ha ha ha ). I finally said, " No, body have any computer, in this place. " In general, it might be the same people who puts viruses on your computer, and then charge you cash, to fix it. I have also read about certain well know crime families in the past have invested heavily in technology. Trying to get peoples credit card numbers though pornography websites. This is nothing new, just another method of jacking somebodies property. That is why I do not use Yahoo anymore. I know their are tons of people are using my password opening my mail and such. ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ On another note, the only reason why this crime works is because the perp is monitoring the cash flow, of the victim. Like how the Feds, busted a pair of a guys who took a picture of them with a wad of money in their car ( thank you %%##%book ), as well as the drug hustler woman who had an amazingly high electric bill, your money flow is being monitored. So the perp is watching your purchases, then strikes at those people who are using the computer for purchases. Imagine if I start taking pictures of my mansion cabin or penthouse view apartment, or my many spouses, or whatever, then talk about them via a high profile place like $#$($@book. They might even pose as one person, be your friend, and then strike like a scorpion, while pretending to be your friend. I don't like thieves, especially when they work for the government and call it doing their job. In this case generating as much fear as possible to encourage people to buy into things they do not need like insurance and laws that hurt peoples privacy. ............ About Bitcoins. Bitcoins is a nice invention, and it would be a good idea with somebody who has too much money to invest in. From my understanding the "coins" retain their value even when the value of the money has fallen, so you never lose your money with bitcoins and everybody has a safety net currency. I believe the inventor of Bitcoins is Japanese, and in Japan this is an on going practice, to store your money in another currency as a safety net. Like take the exchange rate around certain events. By using Bitcoins your purchases are balanced, but now your dealing with an exchange system that is holding your money hostage until you cash out, or exchange it for commodity. Did the Bitcoin also fall? Another problems is how store owners wants to tax the online sale prices, because they feel, they are not being fair to one another. I think this is stupid because it should follow the garage seller rule.

You can try Cutter splitter trimer etc video editing program. Their are tons of them out their, Afterdark ( back when DVD converting was the trend ) has many backup guides for videos as well. As the first sentence of my post mentions, their is a program that splits, edits, etc, but it is a trial program. Vegas pro ( not made by SONY but purchased by SONY ) seems to be the windows edition of whatever the Apple PPC OSX had to offer. I do not know about Linux. Keep in mind whatever format your file is in, the editor must be able to decode, and play thru it.

You sound like your trying to create ASCII art really fast OP? ASCII being an artform could be made in a program that does just that with formatted images. I don't even know how they get all those characters. In photoshop ( or any layer image editor ), you can make an image, at any size, and then have text over the image, to match the image, shape, for whatver purpose. Basically a collage. A desktop publishing editor, like quark and Indesign, you can make words flow in any direction and at any point, in all kinds of ways. Keep in mind that earlier desktop publishing programs do not work well, with their later counter parts. You have to convert from program to program to program, if the function is allowed. The same could be said about illustrator and CAD related programs. You should be able to do the same thing in photoshop but alot more annoying. Their are many plugins and programs that can shape words in different ways, many of course are not in western languages.

Windows 2000 needs a ton of unofficial upgrades and updates to be on par with XP. XP has tons of anti-privacy trash inside of it, as do 2000. Just for easier sake, the XP has tons more support then 2000, and could be updated to the level of current Windows OS, when it comes to program usage. 2000 I had problems with, after problems. I love the quick loading, and all, but XP has more support. I would install XP, cut our as much of the garbage inside of it. Somebody mentions the drivers, you need to update 2000 to the level of XP, and get rid of the trash, and make sure the NT drivers of XP can work for 2000. It is a lot more work to deal with 2000.

Somebody out their fixed CPU-Z for WIndows 9x and 3.1. They have a website, with all kinds of edited display drivers and stuff. I believe somebody also asked for the 9x vesion of CPU-Z. It is a mod or hack, that allows it to also work on XP as well. If somebody has the location of this wonderful programmer, please tell us. He even offered updating of display drivers.....because he is a programer. This is not commercial software, just a fix for CPU-Z that allows you to use it on 9X and 3.1 computers.

So you can print 3d object from Autocad? I have heard that 3d printers have existed from the early 1990's and were used to print toys? Yeah Cad programs are very selective programs, like high-end editors and other expensive computer programs. The earliest versions came with it's own touch pad back in the DOS days. Now most people depend on the quick commands. Shouldn't the printer have it's own loader program or something like that?
-
So we basically left with people who have collected the updates, which are tested. Microsoft on purposely made a bad update for XP?

Well that was okay until the registration part kicked in. So the BORG are using technology that is an alien form of command-line and comes along Picard and his windows, that has a whole bunch of features, but not enough resources to install. The Borg kernel, is less then 1killobyte and relies on 16Megs, with processing speeds of 50Hz and then Windows come in and the Borg does not have the technology to upgrade. I really liked that story, I can hear the voices in my head from all those years watching StarTrek when I was suppose to be studying or something else. Especially Commander Data, voice, and the Captains. Picard: Ramming speed full mach, now brace for impact. Data: Captain if I may, Picard: Shutup Weisly..... I mean silience data, I know what I am doing Data: Captain you are unable to command, you just came back from Crushers room in, what appears to be silk garments. Your reciting 10,000 Leagues under the sea. I will now take control of the ship. Picard: Over my dea..... Data: Please move the Captain to sick bay. Riker: Data what level was that blaster set to? Data: I killed the captain Camera moves to Engineer Jordi. Then go to commercial.

It’s Apple fans versus Samsung fans at a wedding fight in Microsoft’s
ROTS replied to Geej's topic in Funny Farm
That is continues abuse and discrimination towards men. If we punch a woman, it is like OMGSh how could you. It is just like that at home, I want to give a hug or kiss, or even arm rest, it is harassment or I am assaulting somebody, but if they did it, it is being affectionate. They basically try to make this like the videogame wars..............then two poor saps serving everybody is like "they kinda like fighting". But it kinda breaks the rules on advertising with name brands??? and mud-slinging of products. Did it air? or just internet commercial? -
Why not invent a flying car instead of one manned, spaceship
ROTS replied to ROTS's topic in General Discussion
Ignoring all of the "What if's" think about a hover craft with four fans attached in a square but aerodynically shaped, and a fin for the helicopter steering. Later on people will make more smaller models, that have more powerful fans, rocket-boosters, and warp-drive interiors. Just watching those videos ( which is now appearing on the news ) showing off the delivery drones as well as the war drones ( murder death killing robot machines ). Otherwise it would make a nice project. Fiberglass is a nice light material for the exterior? Then we would need material that does not over heat or melt so easy. The actual thing would probably be as breakable like an plastic RC-toy or Apple ibook G4. -
Okay with paypal, your basically filing a complaint that a person did not perform a service you payed for. In fact this person was given access your personal information, and abused it by infecting your computer. If you paid with credit card you can do a charge back, but the bottom line is that the service was not performed, and they mislead you into believing they represented another service. That is my take on the problem.......... Otherwise you should never give anybody, including Microsoft remote access to your network. If you do, then make sure to reset everything. I don't know about the computer address and all, but remote access is a big no no when dealing with strangers. If you want help with a computer you should go to a small computer shop, who invites you to see what they are doing, to slove the problem. I say this because many big business stores will lie you and tell you that you have a virus, in order to make you buy anti-virus software. I heard about Omitech, scammers before. I have seen this on the news, were a random company offers you a solution ( usually those ones in the commercials ) and they infect your computer with a bunch of childish viruses, and then sloves your problem and pretend they did something. One angle people say it is legal because your giving them permission to over-look your computer, on the other angle, they are installing all kinds of stuff, just to make a quick buck.

Does not matter what player you use, as long as it is properly programmed vs the bitrate, and how well the material is encoded vs the codecs used. If you could put 98 on a 5.6Ghz machine it should be running like no tomorrow. My win98 machine seems to beat out my OSX machine ( which demands HD conent ), but the faster Vista machine has no problems with playback. I think I am double posting but, the HD content ( super high resolution ) vs the display vs the speed of the computer. Sound is another problem all together. They have some new sound technology out their and if your a soundfreak you want to check that out as well. I do not like players saving shortcuts to the recent folder.

Why not invent a flying car instead of one manned, spaceship
ROTS replied to ROTS's topic in General Discussion
I am sorry if I offended anybody, I just keep thinking about the obvious. When I see one of those drones carry more then ten pounds high into the atmosphere, I can easily see that same drone being super-sized into a model that picks a person up, and then drops them off at a designated destination point, while avoid air traffic. If I had the money I would do it myself, and that is all that their is lacking to accomplish this feat. If you can lift five pounds why not five hundred pounds? Is their some sorta science limiting us? We need to invent anti-gravity belts before we can make flying cars? Again if I am hurting anybodies feelings, I am just stating the obvious. That is what we need to see next. A flying car, zooming by, -
Lets be realistic, with the drone technology we have already, any moron could make a big enough drone to carry four people, including luggage space for 1200 pounds, including the vehicle own weight itself. We have seen tons of flying batteries in fiction, Think about this, you could combine an air-bike and have a one manned person under 300 pounds, in Fiber-glass material, being picked up by four computer controlled fans, that is able to deliver you to various destinations. Yes I am talking about "Blade Runner Car" but in reality with the space it needs to take off, and land. What would be fuel? Water, where Hydrogen is separated and then combined again. A man back in 1970's made a water car and he had no college education. The military in most nations uses tanks that runs on water, especially if your in the middle of the desert and need something to stay parched. If a person in a lab can do it, why can't a person make an engine small enough to fit a motorbike??? A one manned gryo plane is basically the building blocks that leads to the four family flying car. Before their was a race to see if an ordinary person could build a rocket ship that penitrates the earths atmosphere. Why not make a cheap and affordable flying car all ready. At first these things will be expensive but honestly flying car lets go already. Like Blade Runner, the car would be pre-programmed to fly in flight paths, and destinations.

Man Throws Away 7,500 Bitcoins, Now Worth $7.5 Million
ROTS replied to Monroe's topic in General Discussion
What sucks more is how people are using bit-coins, in place of Paypal. Because for some reason random people have the power to perswade Paypal to ban people, from receiving funds. -
Instead of starting a new, thread, lets be realistic. Wireless connections are less secure then wired connections. Meaning their is less freedoms, because so many people are now wireless on a national scale, they ( meaning police interrogation marketing investors ) want to have monitoring of activity to be equal to a person traveling thru an underground or, people standing outside the "League of nations", and one could even point to public access points like public facilities. When you use the internet or your mobile/cellular/pocketpc/satellite /bounce-signal device you are basically standing inside a crowded mall, court-house, or even place. Do you get free internet? No you pay for something that hyper monitored, and running programs/applications ( or whatever ), is instantly identifying who you are. No longer is the, what if? or this person is most likely located in? As I have mentioned before people using the Yahoo answers system have had their privacy compromised and is harassed by the law just because Yahoo has private information about you, especially when you order things threw them, Yahoo collects little things about you and sell them to officials. The creator of Facebook mother is a lawyer. I will not discriminate the fact that she is a woman, but it takes no id*** to realize who is running the show, and comming up with these ideas about how to use facebook as a tool. The same could be your storage box WTF are you going to do with 3G-6G networks? Watch ex-HD content while your driving? on a tiny finey tilltle screen that is even smaller then your DVD displays? I mean oh my gosh I can go to the XXX network while I am on the train, that is sooo revolutionary. That is what a walkman is for. I understand the old invention of video phone service. Video phone service is a really old idea, and with a computer program, running 24/7 it is virtually free asides when you disconnect and the recording goes to a e-mail box. To think we are basically locking down all information, to a point where if we did have a official video phone service, it would be monitored and unprivate at all angles. Not like that scene from "Demolition Man". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNpeAPYsvsI In todays world this is impossible, in terms of privacy. Even back when we usted to send emails to each other with such material, it was more private then things are now. Just by paying into this service we fund our enemies, our enemies who disrespects our privacies. Privacy is privacy, not a laughing matter, not something to be displayed in public, this is not the 10th century, this is the 21st century, we should be bigger then a rambling stooge who has nothing else besides the little rush of power they get from yelling "fire fire fire, look that person is doing that in their own privacy, blah blah, inhuman. The garbage yucking fool who pays money for internet service on a mobile device, and thinks they are special and they are living in Star-Treck, and by paying for it, they are helping man-kind move to the stars. Before mankind can move to the stars, they have to cease everyone's property, by some form of another. I guess we all will be r-tarded monks ) or monkeys, sitting in a ball of flesh like some barn animals for heat, whille using our devices. The only device where a touch interface would be welcome (at least by the boys) . jaclaz I like SONY's wig idea better, nobody really cares about breasts so much, they just get in the way. Mothers on the other hand would have many uses for such bra. It could tell you, how much milk is inside, pasterize it, and maybe even vibrate dem ta ta's to churn out organic buttery, fresh from the cows teeth. Yeah that is all I would think of right now.

Where should I start?
ROTS replied to Torchizard's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
Well if your going to do hardcore, or real programming you need to start with the assembler language ( or any low-level langauge for that matter ). Going to college they will feed you crap about using the high level language but do not listen. Assembler for the most part is what you will run into, when you need that math power. More importantly you are going to be practicing math alot until your happy with it. Trigonometry, Astro-Physics, etc. Their will be tons of times where you will encounter asolation ( that is the right word ). Think about the imagery and how it displays on screen to accomplishing it's primary goal. That is how all programming is like. Low-level langauges = anything that talks directly in machine code, and thus is faster. The lower the language the more faster the program will run High-level languages = anything heavy on resources and is a quazi-language ( correct me if I am wrong ) that is for people who do not study math enough ). If you see statments and words using big words, continuously, you are working with a high-level language. The reason why you might not see the difference in compiling between a low-level compiler is that your computer is too fast for you to notice the difference in performance. You can even see a difference in compiled file sizes. Even if it all translate to machine code, i Machine code = what all computer brains read. If I could talk in machine code, I would be able to make powerful programs run on slow machines. Assembler = one of many low-level programming langauges, micro-controller, BIOS type of langauge You cant read machine code, then assembler is your buddy. C = short hand for assembler. Meaning you want to do something that would be a big statement in assembler. It is still the same statement but the file size might be bigger, because it might take longer to process. C++ ( is a low level language with high level moves ( that is why people are using it constantly ) ) They get the result from assembler without having to deal with assembler, but of course is the rule of machine Java = C for the internet Action script = sorta like Java script but with flash, and other imagery programs. Finally on a side note is server based programming, basically those people who operate high end servers are dealing with command lines. Their is no best way to practice programming, people usted to have to do it in a notebook and then go to the command prompt, and save and run. But thanks to GUI it should be easy. Assembler, and assembler is what you will run into no matter what. You can use assembler commands in some instances when you must include the resource ( whatever that name is again ), when it is needed, but their is no way around not using math and dealing with assembler type language. Java is also great but like flash it is always changing, preventing compiling of the previous versions of that compiler. So you have to pay attention. After you have master the lower-level languages the higher ones should come natural to you and your goals. Which is why Java annoys people, but older codes and scripts of Java still work, ( as a standard ). HTML5 ( the alternative to Flash or Java ) seems to have many people talking, as you can make a game inside it. Keep in mind, their are 3d explorer games. Visual basic 2005 ( the spin-off from BASIC, at least that is how I see VB ) is also another thing to look into. I think this is Microsofts personal programming langauge platform??? About programming for non-PC-Mac-Unix etc. You still have to learn assembler because in order for these machines to do great leaps of faith a huge procentage is machine code langauge. That is my input. Personally I am still stuck at hello world and multipications and if statements. You need an instructional manual with all the differnt commands you use to make things do what you want. -
Man Throws Away 7,500 Bitcoins, Now Worth $7.5 Million
ROTS replied to Monroe's topic in General Discussion
That is just stupid, they should retrieve his records, and when was the last time he used his "Bit-Coins". Their has to be some kind of paper back solution to this. Even an email notification or attachment. That is just stupid, retarded, and dumb. I would rather have a warehouse full of gold, then a bunch of make-em up money. I mean an old man was storing gold coins, in his house, and died. The new owners found the gold and the court gave it to them, because nobody claimed the gold and the house was sold. I could really use 7.5 million dollars right about now. -
Safari or any Netscape Mozilla product. Even Opera ( or whatever it is called ). K-melon also works to view stuff. Anything is better then Internet Explorer.

For all of my latest Windows rubbish, I decide to go with Vista. I am not going to reverse engineer Windows 98, and Xp has a bunch of releases. Just to make things easier, I would go with Vista unless somebody has a guide to update 98 or Xp to a Vista like state. The only thing that bothers me, is how Vista damaged a bunch of my compressed files, so I need to drop zip file support, or whatever it is called. How are they any different then Vista? What did it fix? So far I can do all of my intensive labor work on Vista as long as everything is calibrated, and up to date. Bottom-line is that people need an up to date OS that can install most new software. On the programming level ( not GUI appearance ), that is all that counts.
