  1. Anyways since nobody has not given the answer for over three years. The software might have been Toon Boom, Flash MX ( which has been replaced ) which can use variety of Mathematical resizable images. Mathematical resizable images ( meaning images made with drafting software like, Adobe Illustrator, or Ink Scape any SVG/SGV creation tool. Even the Amiga has tools that can make images like these. The images could have been made in any photoshop ( including version 1.0 ) for which the resolution is extremely high. It could also be made in any number of graphic editors. Everything in this animation started out as messy and rough, pencil drawings, including the animation. itself, called an Anomotion. An anomotion is a messy run of the animation itself. Do the math The sound was either done first, or afterwards, usually done first to the series of events. The graphical effects was done in fireworks, or another special effects program. Whatever the Chinese used at the Olympics.
  2. By flickering you mean to say when you exit sleep mode, or turn the computer on? This happens with a Vista machine I am using. Everytime I switch displays, it flickers like three to four times. What I assume, this is Vista attempting to aline itself with the attached display devices/device. I have three devices attached to the computer, plus a high end graphics card. It flickers like three times, for the three VGA connectors, and one time for the graphics card. Another assumtion is that I am using an adapter for the graphics card. My Windows 9x and pre-Vista machines does not do this at all, unless I hit the display utility ( the graphics card display devices, settings ). Again i assume it is Vista checking the display settings, and what is attached to it. It might also reset or go back to the "RGB please plug gerder" screen sometimes. It also happens when I use "Windows Classic" program in Vista, with a different color setting?
  3. My ideas on sleep mode. My ideas on sleep mode, avoid using it, and grow tentacles. The only people who should worry about sleep mode, are people who want to access their computer from afar. I doubt any office setting has computers using sleep mode, without them damaging from time to time.
  4. I tried that recently, after my current situation became "1984". I suggest trying WINE to see if that works out for you. EVERYTHING I TYPE BELOW IS OPINION FROM EXPERIENCE ................. 2000 with updates, and fixes ( for fooling later XP, programs to install ) should do a person good, when wanting to play games from Pre-2005 at least. However I do not know about games like Half-life 2, or later games in comparison to higher rez stuff. The reason why I tried to use it, was to have an environment that is both 9x and NT freindly, but apparently that is not the case. Win 2000 has memory limitations ( as shown on this board ) as well as file count problems. In my case I have like a gazillion different files, which will cause a problem with the files. There should be a fix for this as well, but so far I don't know. The benifit of having 2000 is having the power of XP but with less garbage inside. However XP so far, seems to be a more stable OS then 2000, but then again the crap. ,,,,,,,,,,, 9x is good if your heavy invested in DOS applications, and have access to the exe files collections this system is great. One of many problem with computers back then is the size of language files ( or something like that ) which made playing import games hell. Meaning if you are playing a Japanese type installation ( like say an 1999 era RPG that was also released on PSX as well as Win9x ) you will have problems with getting the game to run withot closing, on you ( because the game detects the language and stuff that I am not sure of ), or you run a floppy disk, meant for another nations Win9x. If you had a hard drive with DOS only, and the correct drivers, for each program and their settings, It would be heavan with a notebook beside the machine. That is the problem working with DOS. You need to know how to access etc, otherwise a person has to join the homer simpson gang. 95 fixes the memory leak but leaves you with a memory build up in 98. 98 ( for I do not know what is the difference ) has a whole slew of programs that are unale to run on 95. 98 problem and greatest attribute is the IE, why it is a problem I do not know, maybe privacy, or something else ( somebody could make me understand ). ....... Why not ME? Because I tried to change many settings in ME, but for some reason from time to time, I get an error that leads to my data being destroyed, or damaged. Why ME? Because many of the support files for the 2000/XP/NT can also load on ME as well. Amazingly that is the one fact I love about ME, until it lost support of the mentioned. ........... So all in all, without extremly high resolution ( HD ) imagery, Without all this crap about video, internet, and vid phone etc. I would go for the Windows 9x, and then from their decide which one shoudl suit me. However if I want support of some XP stufff I would stick with ME, but then again ME is not a NTFS operating system. Windows 9x for the win. Pesonally I just wish that windows would allow usage of the 9x startup screen that can also cause an error in ME. One of the two 95 or 98. However if I want to hang with the "oh nothing special happend in 2001" generation ( who thinks HD is the 411 ), I would go with the 2000, and just to deal with all the crap I would go with XP. If you can somehow clear the XP of it's crap I would deal with that and make sure it is XPSP2. 2000 is nice but it annoys me so much. If you can get your hands on Vista, because that is pretty much XP from what I read so far but I don't know. I only use it because the computer I brought has it installed. That is the problem, you can't play every single DOS related windows game without a 9x, and you can't play the latest games without an near XP type computer. It boils me when I have a game, that could run on 9x but is lacking the program support for it. I feel like saying "Why have you forsaken me". I am just glad I am not the person who buys everything brand new, and thinks the lastest is the greatest mumbo jumbo, because that is why the decison is problematic.
  5. In schools I understand this order absents experience qualification certificate college AS college BA college MA college DR Internship likability loyalty Age discrimination The flat fact to get any job, a person will need the base qualification. A person with more qualification logically should get the job, You ever go to work, and see that person who barely says anything, looks young ( or old ) and nobody likes? That person probably has something under his/her belt that keeps them from getting fired. Unrelated from this, their is a college website that lists ever registered school, online and offline. You need to find out if the place is legitimate, certified and registered, whatever they teach, will not ever be refused, if they are legit. With techie jobs, you need to know the latest trends. I am sure the IT guy will get hired faster then the person who knows computer engineering, ....... Have you tried to call their office and request for employment. I see tons of people calling the office requesting for employment as a professor ( at least I did one time ), Did you attempt to find their physical head quarters? Might be an actual school and this is their digital gate.
  6. Think about it like Videogames consumer base. Most of the original consumer base have children that are about ten now. Yet NFL., television networks, radio programs, and teathers attempts to abuse this consumer base implusive buying power. So now people who plays videogames are equal to people to make babies all the time. Maybe I am missing something here, but it just seems, the computer user consumer base has melted away into a bunch of sixty year old men, going for retirement. The new generation of IT perks, are completely unaware, but aware of the immensive "legacy" they leave behind and the resposibilty of correcting these mistakes that was never cleaned up to begin with. However I guess nobody has the brain power to fix these problems. As with the many users as with gamers, our problems are unimportant enough, Their are many naive IT people to abuse. As well as law, securtiy, and social issues that will seek out help with computers. As with my twenty year old college professor said. It is not my job to know how this darn box works, I just use it to put your grades in. Maybe if we write a letter to Bill Gates and promise to be his friend, so that he wont fall asleep like Michael Jackson finally we will get a good release of windows, that is meant for one user. The stupid kind, not just the assuming.
  7. Okay, Okay this is a rant, I hope you enjoy. I really really hate windows. Back then it was wonderful tool and toy. It was intergreated with DOS and above that was some form of Windows/OS2/or even something else. Unix was left for the proffessionals ( Indians or whatever ), but now it is in the hands of moroons. I hate hate hate Windows, because it in inflict my worklife and now private life. Here is how the hate starts. First when I went to college, we had to use many programs, So of course I had to upgrade my setup for my college. I tried to cope, and use programs ( the last versions ) but it did not work out. The versions would leave errors, like no tommorow ( desktop publishing ), and of course Microsoft Office became unworkable. Then to make things worst because everybody is too wuss, to fix a program, we are left with last versions of software, that has all kinds of memory errors. Now my problem with upgrading, is that I have gotten usted to 9x. However because everybody wants video editing, and nobody makes game fixs for 9x, I am stuck using the evil, 2000,Xp, and so forth. But I hate switching. Nowadays I just have to buy a lock out key, because 9x running under whatever NT version they have now, just does not work properly. So to sum up these rambling of words, I hate upgrading because all the programs I have to use for work, do not run on my setup. However their are programs that does the same job, but the files and results are not the same, and are not multitasking. Plus I lose out on my 9x freedom. Let me tell you why 9x is so auwsome, or any Pre 2000 built on DOS system. Because you can do everything in DOS from image editing, game building, high-end projects. You just need the right programmer, and the right edits to the system to meet your needs. You had a beautiful startup splash screen, instead of a garbage animated bar. Microsoft made it so uncool to show their logo. Then to make things even more easier, you know where everything is. Day in and day out I have remember where these files go, or where this and that account is. So what is the other reason I why I hate pre 2000 systems? Well Operating Systems hae more then one entrance. Meaning more then one user access point. If you know anything about forensiks science you will understand. 9x a "hacker" probably has many loop holes in the system. Then with a gun held to your skull, a person with the right tools ( built for Windows X ) could just browse your forsaken machine, and find just about anything. It makes it unlawful to encrypt anything, because they have decrypting persons standing by like a school teacher who gets paid to hawkout for substitute jobs. If a lawyer in this feild could back me up, I know they could make more logical sense. However the point, is that Windows is built to monitor people. Ever since IE, it has been one big game to waste your time, with errors, playing musical chairs with system files, and even the ole disappearing, important folder tricks. Sometimes I do not even know if my bluetooth is off, or my wireless is not giving me brain damage. 1. Windows is unable to run older programs on purpose. I can't even compose a simple HTML file on VII anymore. Even the poor Macs turned to Intel, that hurts a whole amount of the Apple community. Windows hurt the pure DOS community. 2. Windows, are setup to get people in trouble with the law. Talk about invasion of home privacy. encrypting will not help. Privacy is impossible on all angles, unless one could expand. I feel naked 3. Windows have these errors built in on purpose. I swear, when they make the newest, Windows they do this on purpose. The common buyer, an person who can barely type on a computer, will purchase the latest/greatest model without even understanding how to lock off a virus, or could spot a virus. I have seen the papers, and a whole bunch of free-ware ( free-ware that monitors unlawful entry ), that is listed as being a clear sight of unwanted activity. Meaning you could be using a program, to guard "attackers" and they do not want you to use that program. I am just fed up with Windows. Their are too many things, that just have gone too far, and nobody is not doing anything to stop, it. They took away our happy, normal dos enviorment, they took away our privacy. not just on the consumer level, and the errors just keep on rolling and rolling, and rolling. I mean dear god, when will the madness, stop. How long will this consumer insanity continue. Oh I forget most programmers are saints, who let these things pass them by. Their is a problem with our privacy, and it is out of control like a wayward daughter, with over twenty children ( which is beyond out of control ). Like prohibition, it is pure madness. I do not know long I can take it. I guess I will just have to wing it. Will it stop, please tell me that it will, because unless we unite as one force against these mindless peoples, all that will be left is a bunch of a computer users, smart as an unregister voter who talks about a canidate but does not even vote. We have a choice, and even if a whole bunch of heads roll in the IT, or even computer programming department, our peace must be heard. The next generation of users are upon us, and they will suffer for our laziness, and unwilling to act. So I ask of you go down to your congress person, and fight to keep the privacy of what we do with our computers to our own lives. I already feel like if I am in an "invasion of the body snatchers film" when I leave my home, but when I am inside my home, I want to know, this is my home, I am not talking or telling people anything at all, I am just using my computer. My computer that can play a normal dos game and run windows applications at browse the four corners of the internet. The privacy of your own home is only privacy we have left.
  8. Try going to senntient. It is a website that is runned by Sonic Xtreme and Sonic 2 workstaff. Sonic 2-Knuckles was made in the USA, under Nanka. They have all kinds of Sonic nuts over their. Their should be a fix for Sonic CD, PC listed on the website, browse the forums, and do a search. Back then Direct X ( DIrect Sound, Direct Video, Direct etc were all differnt components, and was made along side Sonic CD PC version. Somebody made a fix for the Sonic CD PC game. There might be a fix for that game as well. The same problem probably occurs with Comix Zone and Earthworm Jim.
  9. The problem with replacing the drive, is that an installation disc, or repair disc never came with the computer at all. Not even a built in repair program of any sort. I want to try and fix this install, which is the more cheaper solution I can retrieve the files using Ubuntu, but I am considering attempting to transfer files from another Vista install. If that is possible. I was thinking I could repair install, just like in XP, if that is possible?
  10. I remember a program called cpu-id or cpu-z and a programmer, altered the free version so it can use on Windows 9x and 3.1. I forget the name of their webpage, but it is filled with drivers, and him talking about his greatness as a programmer. You can find his website and mail him the drivers to see if he is willing to make a driver for your version of windows. I have been looking up and down for his webpage again. I am suggesting finding that person, who has all the nice Win1-3 stuff on it. They might be able to make a driver for you. Otherwise find a programmer, who knows how to edit the 95 driver file so that you can use Win 3.1 with the device.
  11. Okay so the labtop is not broken, I used Ubuntu/Ubunto to browse the hard disk. I think, various important operating system files are damaged, My plan is to pull from another Vista installation. Because all the computers here are store brought computers with Vista installations. I would try and wait awhile before I could access another labtop with Vista to make a repair disc. The labtop was already doomed from before, with the whole entire operation getting slower, and slower everyday, and the memory getting smaller. What are the main operating system files, in order the start up Vista?
  12. Well in order to spend money on a digital camera, you need to calculate what regular cameras costed back then. This means 15mm vs 35 mm that must be equal to what you intend on "printing". A camera that is worth less then $50 might get your job done, but a person is looking for SRL, speed ( this means how many images per second can you take with your camera ), and the ability to store as RAW, ( or at least TIF/PCX ). Also a camera with everything built in, can be terrible at times, because the features might do work together. However if you want an all in one camera, like video ( which can be great for making movies ), and stuff like that, then do so. A good Camera should cost around $6995 but eventually time will go on, and will be selling for $5 one day. Their is no such thing as an ultimate camera. So just get for your primary usage. Some camera have serving equipment in it, as well.

    3D TV

3d is nice, but I would hold out until we have "Jetson" televsion. So far it can display a sold image, in a 3d stan still without movement, so this means we can watch teather and news in 3d, but not recorded media. That is later. I don't know if the feature is ready, but some sports events allows 360/Matrix viewing, too.
  14. You want to stop google, you need to provide an alternative to them. Right now privacy is a big web issue and google is more about reporting you to the haffy police, then the adman. Google business is goverment, to the common person. First thing you need to do is block google ad services. Meaning anything google that loads into your web browser, everytime you search. You can actually do this, threw regedit, or somewhere else. I forget how to. The problem is to get people hooked off, google. So far google has two powers that I still use them for. 1. Google ability to cache webpages 2. Google doc, allows ease of viewing and converting to PDF Then of course there is the gmail services. Yahoo was perfect until they demolished geocities, and added a facebook type interface.
  15. I am not seperating this paragraph. I was there when it hit NY. It wiped Staten Island off the map, over 22-99 people died all together. 25% of the entire Manhattan, and 90% of Long Island (including Queens and parts of Brooklyn), is without power. Oil tankers are unable to dock (to get there is no problem, but docking and unloading is another......which is kinda stupid). So everybody is on the move/hunting for gas. Because of the power outtage, a person with no back up generator has no way of keeping food fresh asides burrying it in the backyard or boiling the darn thing. Cooking gas is still here but... for how long? People need proper change to shop for food. Nobody has change. Banks are closed, and people are standing in front of the super markets with weapons. Kids can't go to school and getting to college is a trip across the shuttle buses. The subway runs but not into Manhattan. Oh did I mention Staten Island got wiped off the map, and the borro President was about to break down and cry, as well? He was about to lose it (in NYC Staten island is the only borro without subway, or heavy bus transit, but has a good amount of houses). When the storm hit, people were outside screaming and yelling. You can't tell homeless from home owners. Stupid red cross finally kicked in to provide food (nobody needs food, they need generators for their fridges, transportation to get to work). Did I forget to mention two more storm fronts are about to hit as well. Another thing is the weather jumped directly into Winter (as it should be), and Halloween was canned, but one lucky tennant was able to get my candy, and the young adults were like "you rule". A nice looking woman a couple of days ago was begging for help on the street sadly I live in a house full of girls . When the sub-power-sations blew it lited up the sky, as if it was WWII. Everybody is saying the aftermath looks like WWII, on the news. I guess somebody casted Holy Power onto USA or something People are selling batteries, outside of blocked stores, and some people broke into a drug store (for the obvious reason). This is like the opposite of Katrina. All the wealthy areas got jacked, and the only criminals are people going for heart medications. However There was some gun fire when the lights were out. National gaurd, under cover officers, police, Mr, Popo, bomberman, and the Smurfs are starting to show up all over the place. Seriously, the military is in town as well, the ones without the big guns but they still carry guns. What is funny is how I have yet to see any young people ( Juveniles, and organized crime ) outside at all. Anyways, I am warm living in my $500 dollar apartment, while somebody is cold, hungry, with no television, no hot water, no water pressure, huddling around a crappy cell phone, living inside a $4000 apartment. Or a home owner in Staten Island (if still alive), standing in line for food, like the homeless people living in the lost woods of New Jersery. Oh yes about NJ, The entire Jersery shore was also destroyed as well. Too bad it was a terrible show anyhows. There is light flurrys right now outside, on and off. Some animals prowling around. No the goverment hasn't put us cages yet. They have happy patriot security for that one. No I don't see any giraffes, or hyenas. Oh and nobody in another borro noticed this, until they realized they have no gas for their car at all. It is a real good time to be construction worker, military, or some other type of hands on work.
  16. The first thing I would do, Is try and run a clean installation of windows 98, without anything running. Then one by one install something else new, until the problem starts to occur. However if your system has been tweaked and twacked I do not know if that is possible. Below are my ideas on the subject of hang ups. Opera sounds strange, because the version I was using was zooming really fast. However I was using an outdated version. I would get hang ups on Seakmonkey an K-melon alot more, then Opera. Your direct X also could use a little more upgrading. Without certain installs of direct x, things would move slower. I switched out my memory, and the computer ran faster, ever since. Another thing could be overheating, issues that damages the board, overtime. You could also have something running in the background that is making everything else run slower. Does the computer ever freezes from time to time? to the point where you might have control, but you are unable to see what you are doing? That issue was my graphics card, that was physically damaged. In my case, it would freeze and either reslove itself or not.
  17. So I just got a well built, foxconn N15235 but some of the parts are not being detected, like the etheral, and PCI-CArd. I also have a GeForce 7950 PCI-e 512 attached this machine, I was searching and found some drivers on this website, for that card, but I have not found the thread yet. I was able to get a 9x OS to run on the computer, with the 2gig trick that fools the OS into thinking their is only 1gig of ram. I have not messed around with the cache yet. I hoping to make this the final 9X/ Win 3.1 tower I will ever have to deal with, unless uncle sam has anything to say about it. I am also looking for the edited Win 9x Cpu-ID and or Cpu-z. Their was a website where I found that and a whole bunch of memory tools. .............................................................. The system booted up, and I was able to get it to the desktop, but now I need the missing motherboard drivers and the correct graphics card drivers to take full advantage of the 580M in the PCi-e card. I am also searching for paint programs, and anything before the 2000 era as well. ....................................................
