  1. Try the silent installer if you've not already tried it. It might make a difference, but I can't see how as it is based on the 7z files, pretty much completly.

  4. Hi I'm looking at building a Pentium M system using the Asus CT-479 adapter. However I am confused as there seems to be two socket types for the Pentium M. Sofar on my travels I've come across the 478 pin PPGA FC-PGA2 and Micro FCPGA 479. I'm totally confused as most of the sites that I am looking on for buying a Pentium M, inc. ebay list nearly all the Pentium M's as for socket 478, when I was **** sure that all P-M's were socket 479. The CT-479, is a Micro FCPGA 479 type socket. I'm quite throughly confused and the more I search the more confused I get. Can someone please explain/help all this different socket thing to me? Will a PPGA FC-PGA2 fit in a Micro FCPGA? Are there any CT-479 users out there?
  5. Hey you could try downloading the M$ SP2 deployment tools as mentioned in the guide, the setup manager will create you a WINNT.sif file (after a bit of renaming). It is very much like the unattended setup in nLite. This might help you, it might not
  6. I was accessing ~35Gb of music, mostly mp3 @ 128bps, some at 192bps. The server was a W2kSp4 on an Athlon XP1800, with 512Mb on standard HD, passing thru a router and a switch over cat5 cable. This is all the info that I can give, as I no longer have this setup, the machine blew up and I've changed location as well.
  7. I thought that ninjas were Japanese?? I feel that I might be wrong, but I thought that I'd comment
  8. Althought you mite not want to, you could try creating the library again from scratch, and if this doesn't solve the problem you can always import your old xml file again. I used to run my music over a 100Mbit/s network and there was very little lag involved.
  9. @RyanVM, can I just clarify that you are using Seapagan's 7z files and not my silent installer? My only suggestion at this point is to check that you have the most up-to-date version of QT or QTAlt installed before running the installer.
  10. Opps forgot to add URL, thanx XtremeMaC

  12. He's probably dyslexic. There's two classic traits right there. No punctuation and capitalisation issues. I should know I am dyslexic, but with alot of help I've managed to over come most of my problems. There's alos a few other things as well there that point to this as well. That or English is not a first language.
  13. The latest silent installer. iTunes 6.0.1.3 Please note that this is untested, but should work. The last one worked ok. Please make sure that you have cmdow.exe in your system32 folder.
  14. @jeffc4442 - I've installed over older versions in the past so it should not be an issue. Will also try and get silent installers out ASAP. rik
  15. I'll stick an installer up as soon as I get a chance and I'll look at the uninstalling thing over the w/e Glad to see that you are still alive.
  16. Try this topic http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=55482 I know that it doesn't really answer your question, but it may save you some work in the long run.
  17. Try putting your XP CD in the CD drive and doing a repair install. As you are using new hardware the HAL will be different from your old machine. This might fix your problem
  18. Unless you already have a gmail account, in that case you get to keep the @gmail.com
  19. Nlite it, althought I sorta assume you already have Trim out stuff you dont think your gonna need (most of it), that will cut alot of out of the size.
  20. I think that the 15M quids worth of kit comes first. I was begining to wonder if you were ok, but as you are still afloat that is good
  21. The screechng noise is likely to be a fan somewhere in your case. Open it up and clean out all the dust, this may alleviate the noise issue. And at the end of the daya good clean is not going to harm it. As for the rest a good ole fashion reinstall would probably be good.
  22. Can you tell us what fixed it so that if others have the same issue they'll not need to ask. Glad to be of help Rik
  23. If you are not running the disk as a RAID array, then you need to go into the BIOS and tell the promise chip to run in IDE mode, the disk should then show up in windows. Should be under advnaced chipset options or something like that. Have a poke about, you'll know it when you see it HTH Rik
  24. You need to set what %CDROM% is. It is not a system variable like %systemdrive%. Search on the forums for %CDROM%, you'll find plenty of ways of setting it as a variable. HTH Rik
  25. @jeffc4442 UA - Unattended UAXP - unattended xp. You can pass the installation of XP an answer file which contains things like your cd key, time zone settings etc. and with out any user intervention it will install XP for you. This file can be created using nLite (it has its own sub forum) or by downloading the XP installation kit from M$. Read the Unattended CD/DVD guide at the top of the screen for more info. RyanVM's packs allow you to slip stream the latest updates into the XP install before you install it. It's a bit like slipping the latest service pack, but even more upto date. I hope that this helps u out in some way.
