  1. Can anyone suggest a 32bit standalone unzipper that can be called from the cmd line?? Please help and I'll tweak the code alittle to get it working. Any help??
  2. NOTE - Do not remove 16Bit Application Support in Nlite if you wish to use the pkunzip.exe assoisated with ProtectUA. pkunzip is a 16bit application
  3. Possibly not the best place to ask this question, a new topic would have been more appropriate, but..... ... you could probably get away with dropping super adblocker and spyware blaster. AV and Firewall are must keeps and keeping the 'big three' - S&D, Ad-Aware and MSAnitSpyware is probably a good idea. No idea what cwsshredder is. If you would like to continue this line of disscussion further pls feel free to PM me, and lets keep this topic on topic
  4. I'm not sure if you have to uninstall iTunes or not, but it will not hurt as it leaves all the prefs and music lists in place. Search for "Quciktime Alternative" on google. There's also a similar program called Real Alternative.
  5. I'll leave that one to seapagan to answer as I don'y use it or Quicktime, I prefer QT Alt. It seems less evil.
  6. Silent installer on the way.... .....get it HERE!
  7. @seapagan, well that explains the user name..... I worked for OSRL for about 7-8 months and I am a fully trained oil spill response specialist, got all my offshore survival certificate and all the other stuff. Decided it was not for me and turned to computing, now doing an OU degree in Computing and IT. Yes I beat you too it, comes of leaving the computer on after leaving to go to the pub and coming home to find it still on.... ah dry land I'm actaully impressed that you manage to get online at all in the first place being in the north sea and all, suppose satillite technology hellps a hell of a lot.
  8. Difference is in the size. Seapagan produces the smaller files and I make the silent installers for the files. Silent means that you run the installer and nothing appears on the screen and no options are asked for etc., it just installs, very useful for an unattended setup. Hope that this clear things up
  9. Not a prob, I'll knock an installer out 2morw, when the files are up. I'm guessing that being in the North Sea you are in the Oil/Gas Industry in some way, I used to work for OSRL (which may or may not mean anything to you). Enjoy work rik
  10. Gee, I am sure that he has read this, but it not want he wants to do. If I read correctley he just wants to extract the files and not install them
  11. To be honest I'm not sure, I was hoping that this topic would stimulate those kinds of questions and thus answers. If only OpenOfice did an email client.....
  12. As can be seen on the main page, OpenOffice2.0RC has been released. This time they've wrapped it all up in an installer, which according to CMenu is a Nullsoft installer. So /S for a silent install. I'm just running a test now to see if this works.
  13. OK. For those how can't get rapidshare.de to work I have now posted the 5.0.1 silent installer on my website and the link can be found here
  14. Use nlite, soooo much quciker. Use VMWare, apart from when testing the drivers. my 2p worth
  15. Don't thank me, thank sepagan, he's done most of the work the silent installer was the easy part Glad to be of help
  16. @supernoob Easy to solve that one Supernoob You need to add into you UACD/$OEM$/$$/System32 folder a copy of cmdow.exe. Use google to find it. Cmdow suppresses the cmd window from showing up during the install that is all, and if you dont have this little program you end up with a cmd window. It is a very useful program and can be used for all your cmds @Thedisneymagic I'll up a copy onto my ISP's sever later, after I've moved my computer (physically) @beeker Nice! I knew there was a reason I left all that code in... Don't make the same mistake I did once and post "your" version on the internet. I left all my prefs and configs in one iTunes silent, so everyone could see all my Podcasts and Music store, so becareful and don't learn the hard way like me...
  17. Find and run a copy of memtest86 to rule out any memory errors.
  18. Thanx I did run a cursory search but must have missed your post. Which firewall is next??
  19. Dear All I just found this sad news whilst doing some reseach for a review and I thought that I share it with you and The link to this forum post is http://forums.kerio.com/index.php?t=msg&th=7040&start=0 "The digital age marches on, leaving many in its wake" - Me
  20. make sure that you turn off all AV, firewalls and download managers and then it will probably work, if not post back again and I'll up the installer onto my website...
  21. Firstly, please don't shout we're not deaf... not all of us anyway Secondly I used a re-writable DVD for test my installs and that is bootable with no problems so I guess that there will be no issues with using a CD-RW. HTH Rik EDIT: you can use nero to burn the image of the disc to the CDRW just go File --> Open and select the image you want to burn. Easy.
  22. No rush seapagan, I'm at the g/f's this weekend so I'm not really gonna get a chance to make a silent installer or do any testing. I daren't install VMWare on her old PII-400
  23. Ok, removing the transform solved the issue, so thankfully problem solved. Phew! The link for the silent installer is http://rapidshare.de/files/5412193/iTunes5.0.1.exe.html Have a good night out...
  24. I'm just testing now. It still seems 1mb bigger than iTunes5.0........?? Will post when/if test is successful. EDIT seapagan... any ideas??? It's stopping the install dead cold, any ideas? EDIT 2 I think that I fixed it... I forgot to remove the transform install command from the install setup. Just testing.
  25. I'll knock a silent installer out when i get back from work. ~8pm GMT
