  1. ROTFLOL - I'd be worried if Apple know what you are doing, just think how much M$ know!!! Ur shoe size, when you last chaged ur underwear, things even ur mother doesn't know. It's mind boggling No rush as I'll not be able to get a silent installer out before Monday (probably) I'm away this w/e seeing the g/f, I'll have to leave the server on so that I can access that to make the installer if we both get time to do our respective pieces of work. Enjoy being busy
  2. I said that they'd update it with in a week, and they have. iTunes 6.0.1 is out.
  3. @jeffc4442 the cmdow @/HIB error thingy you were getting is becuase the installer (ok its just batch commands)) looks for cmdow.exe in System32. It is just a tool for hiding this cmd window. Most ppl have it in System32 when doing UA, I think that it comes in Ryan's Pack and can also be down loaded fom the interent. It doesn't matter if you don't have it as it will all still work, jsut you get the cmd window as you experienced.
  4. Have you tried the iTunes 6.0 silent installer?? I could do with some feed back as I never tested it Probably bad of me, but I did the same as I've done with all the others so I can see why it wont work.
  5. Thanx Funding, work and generally better things to do
  6. No idea, someone else asked that we use somewhere else other than rapidshare, so we did. Prehaps who ever asked is having issues with rapidshare.
  7. Google - CPU-Z That little program is your best bet HTH Rik
  8. Silent installer now avaiable at meaga uploads - here I decided on the change of avatar as the clubbing scene, for me, is past.
  9. You hit the nail on the head. Great film.... now back to topic.I'll have a look at megaupload I'm guessing there something like rapidshare
  10. Silent installer: http://rapidshare.de/files/6407005/iTunes6.0.exe.html Where else can I host this??
  11. I'll do my usual thing, if ppl still want silent installers??? Yay or nay would be good pls., althought I guessing there will be lots of yays as just look at rapid share and it has been d/led 81 times Hope ur all well? I'm fishing for opinions on my new avatar, what do you think? I bet there's a new version out within a week, look here
  12. unattended - put the CD in the computer, turn it on, format the HD and leave, come back in an hour and ur OS is installed. Your apps and tweaks can also be installed at the same time with no user intervention. That is the idea, the user has to do practically nothing
  13. Yep I'm 99.9% sure, as it stopped once I stopped using the .MSI, it was the last thing I suspected. I even rebuilt my uACD from sctrach to see if that made a difference. Soon as I stopped using the MSI the problem went away. Maybe it was conflicting with something else that I installed, maybe not. Thanx for your effort, but I'll stick with the old way for now
  14. @totoymola I've had a few problems with using your .msi. The main/only problem being that after installing uAXP and them calling your msi from RunOnceEx, it all installs fine. However after the first reboot my CD drive dissapered from My Computer and could not be accessed anyother way. This occured on both a VM machine and a real computer. I've gone back to using the /S switch and cmdow @ /HID @echo off TASKKILL.EXE /F /IM Picasa2.exe TASKKILL.EXE /F /IM PicasaMediaDetector.exe del %0 to kill of Picasa when it tries to start itself after installing, also stopped it from opening IE, by not having IE and having no defualt browser setup during the install so it can't open the picasa webpage
  15. Grrr....... lets hope K-lite Mega codec pack has 7.0.3, althought I am quite happy with iTunes 5.0.1 atm. All the best with getting that sweary script thingy to work.
  16. I'll try and knock out a silent installer if I can find 5 mins 2morw evening, if the files are done by then. Apple/iTunes seem to be stay one step ahead of K-lite mega codec, with regards to the QT alt codec. I did just notice that a video ipod has been released, so that might explain the v6. Enjoy your shift.
  17. Hey seapagan, how's the northsea? iTunes 6.0 is out, care to do your thing? Two majo version releases in just over 2 months!! Somethings going on at Apple Hope ur well Rik
  18. Ellie This is the line from my RunOnce REG ADD %KEY%\007 /V 3 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\AntiStuffWare\spybotsd14.exe /verysilent" /f Hope this in someway helps Rik
  19. Did you check that the network card was supported by the driver packs first??? If it is an old card it is less likely to be supported, also if you are testing on VMWare and have removed the XP Lan drivers it will not install the virtual lan card.
  20. Here is my offering for this month, and my first desktop post IMAGE
  21. Ok. I got it working. Now you can replace pkunzip with 7za. It took a lot of work, although you can really tell from the code changes, but my g/f will testify to the work put in (and the large amount of cursing that went with it everytime an installation test failed). The post with a link to the new files is here. The code that I changed was Else If strYouAreWelcome = 1 Then ObjShell.Run ("C:\PKUNZIP -e -d -s" & strPassword & " C:\Protect.zip C:\"), 0, True End If End If Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") objFSO.DeleteFile ("C:\Protect.zip") objFSO.DeleteFile ("C:\PKUNZIP.EXE") to Else If strYouAreWelcome = 1 Then ObjShell.Run ("C:\7za.exe e C:\Protect.zip -p" &strPassword& " -oC:\ -y"), 0, True End If End If Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") objFSO.DeleteFile ("C:\Protect.zip") objFSO.DeleteFile ("C:\7za.exe") Simple really, unless you don't know any vbs programming and forget to hardcode the location of 7za.exe and protect.zip, and sorting out the spaces with the password. Anyways it works now and have just tested it in an Nlited XP wit 16bit support removed
  22. Having tried to removed 16Bit support from XP using nlite and then use ProtectUA and have it fail, I realised the pkunzip.exe is a 16bit program. Instead of adding 16bit support back in, pkunzip had to go. It has been replaced using 7za.exe from http://www.7-zip.org/. The ProtectUA guide can still be used and it can be found here. Do NOT use the files posted at the bottom, go to http://www.thethirdrow.plus.com/files/Protection32bit.zip to download the latest. Follow the guide but where ever pkunzip is mentioned use 7za.exe in its place, otherwise everything is the same. Martin Z, kindly let me mode his code, and I eventaully got it working after about 20 test installs and a lot of head banging.
  23. I was dubios (sp??) about podcasts at first and sort of ignored them for ages, but over the last few weeks I've been listening to them more and more. I currentely subscribe to 7 and listen to them in the car on the way to work. Gotta do something with an hour a day... currentley learning Quantum Chemistry
  24. Cheers digitalfrost, I did not think of that, and I'll get better compression as well. Will have a try later.
