Guys, correct me please if I'm wrong but he should run the fdisk /mbr from the XP recovery console and not from the 98 boot disk...if I'm not mistaken they are 2 different versions of fdisk...
Now I do want you to understand that Windows XP Home version will only do peer to peer networking. If the problem is due to your network needing a domain logon the Home version won't do that.

Well since you're askin... I used to use NVidia exclusively but I have had the chance to run both the Radeon 9700 and 9800s and I gotta say I would buy the 9700 if the price is right. To me the 9700 graphics are just as good as the 9800 even tho it benches a tad slower. agreed ATI drivers have been flaky in the past but they seem to have come a long way recently...
